I like this place and I am very glad it replaced Gus’s. Love the spice and always had good service. I think a lot of people call their order in. Going here saves me the trouble of going downtown for my hot chicken fix.

I like this place when it was Gus’ Chicken the Mgmt was super nice then was always out saying hi or sitting inside observing the customers. No sign of hardly anyone. One waitress. One other customer this time before it had a few more at a time depending on when we’d go. They changed the chicken recipe from Gus why mess with such a good thing? I have no idea myself but I didn’t care for it myself and neither did my guest. The sides had changed as well, they no longer offered the great cole slaw-What no home made slaw yet they spiced up the chicken? That would cool it down some. The rest sides really wasn’t anything to brag on. Corn bread good but wasn’t warm. They did have our same nice waitress from Gus she’s very sweet, very prompt and gets the orders right. She makes sure you don’t wait for anything and that you have anything you need. Other than her there’s nothing good there left for us-We won’t be back there. It’s just really changed and the food isn’t good. The mgmt isn’t taking a personal interest in it either so it seems to me from all of these bad reviews right after their take over. Personally I have a $ 10 Restaurant gift cards for them and I still won’t go.

I loved eating here but they appear to be closed. Tried to eat there today and couldn’t.

first time… no problem with service… super friendly. super attentive… the chicken… way better than prince’s or 360° or boltons… the juiciness of the chicken… awesome. and the flavor wasnt just on the outside… it was allll through it… not dried out like hattie bs and champs… 2 breasts. 2 sides… 2 desserts. 2 teas and cornbread for 20 bucks… the mild is mild… the hottest is actually hot… not sissy hot like other nashville hot chicken… all you can eat tuesdays… need i say more? i’ve had fried chicken around the world from india to honduras and across america… definitely in my tops file… and totally worth driving south of nashville for.

Well I’d love to write about the food but i couldn’t even get any service. There was only one other customer in the store and apparently it took all four staff people to make her order. 2 working, one flirting, and one just standing with her back to me and watching the others work. Also, there was a visitor drinking a coke in the kitchen and asking about how spicy their chicken was while he was flirting. I walked out after 10 minutes of being ignored. I did call the manager later to give her my experience and she says that she knows and she’s trying to fix it. let’s hope it’s before they shut down. Also, there are not windows in the place which makes it look creepy for a restaurant. it looks like they couldn’t afford the glass for the windows so they boarded it up with barn wood and voila. creepy chicken place with no service. Good luck with that ;D P.S I think having open drinks in the kitchen is a health code violation

I like spicy but come on, the mildest they have left my lips burning and they used some awfully skinny chicken, little meat. The mashed potatoes are instant and the green beans were crunchy with no seasoning. The girl behind the counter acted like she had better things to do than serve customers. This was my first visit since Gus’s left and I won’t be back.

This is my second time in this particular building that serves hot chicken and thus far it’s decent from the first time I was here when they had the Gus name. From what I hear, the recipes has changed and I quite don’t remember how it tastes before but, what I can say it does serve decent chicken and side items to compliment that. Decent music playing overhead and the seating as well décor still has the same looks of the previous owner. Customer service is fairly decent and they were pretty nice about everything overall just a little understaffed and I hear the new owner shows her face to their employees in small bunches and I am not sure if that’s a good thing but, to be successful you have to show up daily, weekly, to ensure everything is not only running smoothly but you providing that idea that you care about your customer. I would recommend this place is you want some good chicken, it’s not bad at all. Enjoy.

Although I liked Gus’s I understand that change is sometimes necessary. They went from a great non-sauced kinda spicy chicken to a traditional sauced hot chicken. They will have to solidify the recipe and develop some quality consistency but it’s good hot chicken. As long as it is always fully cooked I’m fine with the change. There are no true hot chicken joints in the southern Nashville area.

This is not gus’s chicken. the mildest hot sauce they have is way too hot and bitter tasting. If you’re going to order chicken get it plain I do not recommend the sauce. waiter didn’t even offer to remedy the situation. His description of the mild sauce was it’s a little spicy well it was way too spicy!

I like spicy, but ouch! Even the mildest they serve left me in pain and I’m sure I’m going to regret it even more later. Double ouch. I’ve been here twice and I probably won’t be back. If you want hot chicken in Nashville you have far better choices than this place.
