Another great meal at Flames. My wife and I have been coming here for years but it has only gotten better since the new owners have taken over. Very friendly staff, and you are greeted warmly on your arrival. Today was valentine’s day and we had the steak for two, and the spinach salad. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. If I were to be a bit picky, I could say that my baked potato was under cooked and too hard to enjoy but that would be petty. The wines are expensive and the glass wine is sub par at best, but as a frequent high end steak house diner, this is somewhat typical. Also typical is the NYC pricing. This place is not cheap so buyer beware. Still, for a small town steakhouse, you can’t go wrong with Flames.

The meat here is not your average choice cut. We are talking about prime meat dry aged at least 30 days. We had the steak for two. Which consist of a porterhouse seared and broiled to perfection. Sliced up it was easy to share and the staff was more then helpful in serving us the finely cut meat and the sides. Service was on point but not intrusive. Water was always filled and i must say the staff here are seasoned professionals. You cant fake good old world service.

I haven’t been here in many years and was pleasantly surprised by the renovations. There is now a large bar and while I didn’t get a chance to sit and review their selections, it looks like a high end bar with lots of high end choices. I didn’t order anything so I won’t comment on prices but it looks like a large selection of scotch, so if that’s your thing, you might want to stop on by. Here for dinner with some business associates. Service was excellent with a waiter always nearby. We shared one of those large steaks that places like this are famous for. Steak was cooked just how it was ordered. The sides were not what I would have picked, but beggars can’t be choosers. While the food was really good, I think the other steak houses around Westchester provide stiff competition.

Very warm friendly restaurant where the customer is treated well. They are ready for a crowd with the owner and his two peers greeting you upon arrival. The T bone was perfectly cooked and sliced, then reassembled on the plate steakhouse style. The homemade French Fries were excellent. I started with the clams casino which were nice, buttery and toasty and worked well with a fresh roll to soak up the butter. A few improvements: A steakhouse should have a short wine menu selection of 3 – 6 reds and 3 – 6 whites by the glass. They can range in price from $ 10 to 30 per glass. After all, you are ordering a fine steak, I might like to spring for a glass of Stags leap or Rodney Strong. Instead, they just had a premium Cabernet at 16 dollars, the wine was good but the bartender never offered me the name. It would have been nice to have a choice. Two or three beers on draft in a steakhouse Pilsner cold glass would be nice. An early week burger special would be nice combined with the above beer and wine that would get two people in and out for less than $ 50 each. I left my left over bag at the bar, they came out to the car to give it to me. Nice touch!

Update. Another excellent meal. Still think prices can come down a bit but steak is beautifully marbled and aged, service is excellent — attentive but inconspicuous. Recommended.

It’s was the second time that I ate there. Average at best !! We had steak that tasted as if it was done on an oily pan. The lamb was bad, you better get lamb in Costco and to it at home. I have to say that the service was friendly. The place is not cheap, but it’s not about the money it’s about the quality.

While the food was pretty good, and the steak I give a B+/A-, the whole vibe was stuffy. The cocktail list was non-existent. The service was a little abrupt. All of this would be tolerable if the prices were not COMPLETELYOUTTOLUNCH!!! I’m just not spending $ 100 a person to eat here. If I want to blow that kind of money, I’ll go to Blue Hill! And btw. the place was a bit empty on a Friday night. But that’s not hard to figure out.

I dined here tonight while attending a continuing education presentation, and please don’t crucify me — but I did not have steak. The restaurant is decorated nicely — dark colors mainly with big comfy chairs in a variety of upholstered patterns. We were seated in a room which kind of represented the inside of a boat — I’m not sure if that’s what they were going for but that’s what I got from it. Apps were served family style — stuffed clams, eggplant rollatini, fried calamari, and a cold antipasto platter. For my main I had the chicken francese and for dessert they served platters of Italian cheesecake, chocolate cake, apple-almond tart and what looked like puff pastry layered with custard(I didn’t try it). Food was just okay. The fried calamari was quite good, but the other stuff was just average. The antipasto lacked flavor and I wasn’t a fan of the sauce the eggplant was sitting in. My main was tasty but wasn’t a standout. As far as dessert, the cheesecake was definitely the best — rich but not heavy. I sampled the chocolate cake which was kinda dry. Service was pretty good, no real complaints. Overall just an okay experience, I wouldn’t rule it out but I’m not running back

We loved our dinner here. We had the oysters which were amazingly delicious. The porterhouse for two was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. It was a great choice and we were very pleased. The outside seating was so nice as well.

The best Steakhouse in Westchester hands down. Start with top notch materials, steak every bit the equal of Peter Luger’s, and add in new management and a staff attentive to your every need and you can’t do better than this. Beautiful outdoor patio area as well. If you haven’t been here you are missing out! Simply outstanding!

If you want a great steakhouse this is it. The best around hands down. I have dined here on many occasions and never disappointed. Best quality steak.

New ownership, and remodeled. Looks great, and well spaced out. The steak was amazing. They are following the Peter Luger’s model of the mainly T-Bone menu; and they’re doing it right. I would suggest a better variety of sides and salads. Other than that, great experience. I will be returning soon.

The best steak I have ever had, the quality is incomparable to any other local steak house. They truly care about their food and it is worth every penny.

Although the steak was very good. The service was deplorable. The maitre d was rude surly and obnoxious. We arrived for our 730 reservation and told bluntly — you have to wait everyone else had a 730 reservation. His other comments included, what would you like me to do, kick them out? Never have we been spoken too like this. We will never return.

This is the best steakhouse in Westchester by far. The aged prime steaks are as good as steak can be, particularly the porterhouse and bone in filet. It’s not cheap, but this type of quality never is. I was recently at Wolfgang’s in the city and the steak was better at Flames! Dined here this past Saturday night and it was another great experience. Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail were wonderful and we were just getting started. Sides of onion rings, broccoli rabe and garlic mashed were very good and supported the steaks well. Porterhouse for two and a bone in filet later, this was a truly great meal. A note about the wine list which is deep and excellent as well as a bar that can accommodate you if your taste runs to Laphroig 12 neat. Third great meal here in the past few months, and felt compelled to post.

My wife took me here for a birthday dinner and we were not impressed at all. The atmosphere is very nice but everything on the menu is a la carte($ 6 for a side dish of French fries). I had the surf & turf. The steak was tiny as was the lobster tail. Very, very overpriced and not worth the trip. Not likely to return.

Very good food at astronomical prices in a weak location. North State Road is pretty industrial, a lousy place to put a nice restaurant, and the building that Flames is in is kind of crappy. I can’t believe they have tables outside(great if you want to count trucks and smell the diesel). The food is very high-quality, just a notch below NYC steakhouses. If these guys could take their operation up to Haymont House, I think we could solve two problems! I see they have a new awning and a new Bar and Grill menu — I am eager to try the new menu which looks more appropriate to the site.
