A & P Food Stores

Would be 3.5 stars…
I was visiting my relatives yesterday, and because we needed some items for the Easter dinner, we decided to stop here.
When I walked in, I received the «retro» feeling. The interior of the store reminded me of when I went to the Kenilworth A&P in the 90s when I was a kid (also called «Food Market» at the time, before changing over to «Fresh» later on). At that time, the interiors and layouts looked exactly like the one in present-​day Brick.
The store itself was clean and customer service was fine. As with any A&P, most of the sale prices are competitive, but depends on what you’re trying to buy. This store has the «edge» over the Fanwood location, but not the Clark one.

Bought Bel Gioioso Feesh Mozzarella today, December 29^th, took a bite of it and it was rancid. I checked the ‘sell by’ date on the package and it is ¹²⁄₁₃. I hope I don’t get sick. I can’t believe they don’t check the dates of their ‘fresh’ products. We are talking 2 weeks past the sell date here.
