Was spending the weekend at the shore and decided based on the Unilocal reviews to give this place a shot. It’s tucked away in a strip mall so almost missed it! Was pleasant surprises on a Sunday morning to get a seat at the bar as many people were waiting outside to get in. Loved their iced coffee-big plus they offer you a to go cup and will top it off before you leave! I ordered the lobster Benedict. Serving of lobster was larger than expected and even had the claw meat and not just the tail! The bacon on it was a bit much but the cilantro and avocado made for a great breakfast!

Been here several times for both breakfast and lunch. The food is always perfect. For breakfast we have had waffles, french toast and different egg dishes. For lunch we had sandwiches or a seasonal special. Every plate we had was superb. I would need several pages to describe how great each was. I also had the Tropical Breeze ice tea which was the best flavored ice tea I ever had. I did not add sugar or sweetener as the taste was great as is.

It’s essentially a bad diner. It tries hard to be a restaurant but lacks in higher quality meals to justify the high prices you’ll find here. They would do better if they accepted the fact that they are JUST a diner and complete the image by adding diner favorites like corned beef hash & eggs. If they did so they could be a GREAT diner instead of a subpar restaurant. Someone in charge here should pay a visit to Amy’s omelet house in Monmouth Beach swipe some seating and menu ideas, come back to town and employ what they’ve learned. I was here day 1 when TP opened, been back a few times since to check for improvements, sadly it’s still just TP. One tip for TP, smarten up!

Yes, it is usually crowded, even during the week. First off, love the décor. Most importantly, the food is always good. We have been here for breakfast and lunch. I usually order something off the specials menu. I ordered something that sounded a little weird but was delicious-cornbread, chicken, a white sausage gravy topped with a cranberry oatmeal crumble. It was amazing! The other people in my party usually order the soup of the day, one of the skillets or a wrap and have always been happy.

This and any of the other TP’s around the shore are probably your best bet for breakfast, brunch or lunch around. A great array of beverages, especially coffees and full compliment of fine teas, juices, etc. and traditional«eggs your way», to the more exotic lobster Benedict, omelets, combinations, pancakes, waffles and sandwiches are sure to please the whole family. Comfortable and well designed dining areas, typically efficient and friendly service combine to make all the TP’s around a sure bet. During the summer weekends and holiday crowds can be a turnoff if you’re not willing to wait around or in line for a half hour or more, but even then, if you want a great menu to choose from and a spotless upscale brunch, you won’t be disappointed. A few bucks more than the diner, and worth it.

Love this place! Only down side is I always wait for a table but its not their fault they are always busy. Its nice because I can get my healthy option and feel great and the boyfriend can get a waffle or whatever and be happy too :) I just wouldn’t go on the weekends but that’s just me.

Ok, this is sooooo awesome. I have never been to a restaurant that offers French press coffee right to your table … With a timer set to let you know when to depress the plunger!!! I ordered the Kona coffee press and I’m waiting for the timer to reach«0». The smell is wonderful. I also ordered the Tuscan omelette. Both the coffee and the omelette are exquisite!

Heard a rumor through the grape vine that this place cures hangovers. Let’s just say the grape vine was 157% right. Walked in with a bad hangover and came out ready to conquer the world. This place will give your mouth an orgasm it’s that good.

I absolutely love Turning Point, and would not hesitate to deem it one of my top five favorite breakfast establishments in Ocean County. I recently visited TP on Easter Sunday for breakfast with my family and walked out stomach full and haply with the service I received. Here are some highlights: Food– I went with my usual of an egg skillet dish, and asked about the possibility of subbing out an item in the skillet for breakfast potatoes. Our waitress was so understanding and able to accommodate. Drink– You cannot go wrong with the coffee selection at turning point. The presentation of their french press alone is fantastic. Between three guests we shared two french press roasts and even had some extra at the end of the meal. Our server kindly brought over to go mugs for us to take our coffee with us. Price– TP dishes can be a little pricey for the serving you receive. This point is my ONLY reason for the 4 star review. For three people for breakfast, coffee, and tip: the bill came to about $ 55. Now you can order some cheaper items on the menu but they do not compare the Lobster Eggs Benedict. :) Service– I had some of the best service I have had at a restaurant in a long time, and thats for breakfast in Easter! Upon finishing our meal Our waitress did not rush us out or try to flip the table, and instead offered us additional beverages and cleared our settings. For a holiday or even just a busy weekend alone– this was surprising. I will be back Turning Point!

Turning Point is one of my favorite places to get breakfast/brunch. I usually get the Tuscany Omelette, filled with sausage and mozzarella cheese — yum! I’ve also had the Grande Huevos Rancheros and it is probably the greatest thing you can get if you’re hungry enough! This particular visit, I got the bananas foster waffle. It was really good at first, bananas with rum sauce on top of fluffy goodness. Unfortunately it got sickly sweet after a while, though I don’t blame TP for that. Next time though, I’ll stick with the Rancheros!

Absolutely my go to brunch place! I love everything about here, the lattes, smoothies and menu selection! The only thing that is a pain especially if you’re HANGRY is waiting to be seated since its so crowded on the weekends!

Let me begin by telling you that breakfast is my favorite meal. I was raised in a British household and the British are known for their huge and very filling breakfasts. It’s a beautiful thing. With that being said, let me tell you about Turning Point. It’s ONPOINT. period. The ingredients are fresh and the servings are large. There are so many choices that it took me a while to decide — the drinks menu alone is like walking into Willy Wonka’s factory — everything looks good and I want to try them all! Coffees, teas, iced teas, shakes, smoothies, specialty drinks… it goes on and ON! I had the Hawaiian Kona French press. Gosh, that’s a review on its own. Delicious. I had a western omelette, I know, so typical but I wanted something filling and I love their eggs and English muffins. It was everything I wanted. Ingredients so fresh you think they have a garden around back. My breakfast buddy had the huevos rancheros. Wow! It was open faced in a huge tortilla and huge! My buddy ate it all! There was so many things in it and she said they were all good. Go enjoy some good food at this clean and friendly breakfast/brunch/lunch haven.

I love coming here. Feels very«Hamptons in the summer» — ha! Lobster benedict is amazing but everything I’ve gotten is always good! One nit-picky thing about this place is that I’ve gotten sat a couple of times in the corner of the front room, directly next to a little desk where they keep silverware and place settings. Every 3 minutes a server is coming up and rummaging around to set up a new table, and it’s so annoyingly noisy that my guest and I would pause conversation each time so we didn’t have to raise our voices. Normally wouldn’t bother me but the thing is literally inches away from where you’re sitting. I know it’s just what they have to do so I can’t blame them, but I really wish that would be moved because I always end up by it! The service is always amazing so it makes up for it if I get the unfortunate table. Other than that(which is really only a problem if you get sat there) this place is a great little spot.

I think that this chain has over-extended itself, or the management at the Brick location is seriously in need of some additional training… or maybe just has to be reminded to give a damn about quality, value… you know, the basics. Years ago I remember going to the Holmdel location, and being reassured that I would be getting a decent meal on a consistent basis. I went to the Brick location and ordered a Turkey Club and«homemade» lemonade. The Club Sandwich tasted«old». You know, deli meat, that while technically still servable, you can tell that it has been sitting around past its prime. The lettuce and other“garnish were limp and wilted. The lemonade, or, I should say a glass of ice with a few drops of lemonade for color was mediocre, at best and greatly over priced at over $ 3 for a small. This place has become complacent and arrogant. Save paying these outrageous prices, and go somewhere else.

Food was just average. Hostess was rude. «Whole party needs to be here to be seated» is just a made-up rule. Get it together turning point.

Have gone to Turning Point in Brick about 20 times and have not been disappointed. Love the oatmeal. Order it with blueberries. Various egg dishes are great. Usually go during the week when it’s not as crowded as Sunday mornings. Prices may be a little higher than a diner but is worth it. Also love their tea. They offer a variety of teas and serve it in a small teapot. You can get 2, 2 ½ cups of tea. Highly recommend this for breakfast and lunch.

Lots of great stuff on the menu. Usually there are 1 – 2 things on a menu that I really want to try, but I wanted to try almost everything here. There’s a wide variety of things from dessert-like pancakes or french toast to lower calorie options. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito with quinoa that was delicious. Everyone at the table loved their order. The Unlimited Gourmet Coffee for $ 2.40 is a good deal, it tasted great and they leave the pot on the table and give you a to-go cup. I also noticed free refills for iced coffee on the menu. Service was fast and friendly. I’ll be back.

I really enjoy the décor it makes me feel like I’m in the soho in NYC, or a bed and breakfast place near the shore. The turkey chilly was my favorite until the last time I ate it, it had a after taste. Very disappointing. Their black tea is so fine and delicious. They can be a better place if they stayed open longer I think they close too early. I stopped going there because of the after taste in the turkey burger hopefully I can forget it and return soon.

I gave it one more try. I had to. Admittedly it started out as a nail-biting experience from the minute I sat down. I was already beginning to plan for what I would have for breakfast after I left The Turning Point hungry. Thankfully, it was perfect. Eggs, potatoes, absolutely perfect, and the first time! No sending things back, no waiting for replacements, just a delicious breakfast. And I must once again compliment all of the staff here. They are all excellent. Probably some of the best restaurant staff in any restaurant I have been in. I hope that this is the beginning of a delicious relationship. Up one star for a great experience. If it stays consistent it would be my pleasure to bump it up to 5.

I love the environment and the service is great the first time I came(not too great the second time around)!! The prices are affordable as well! I selected the lemon blueberry pancakes again because they are delicious!(I also think I order blueberry pancakes everywhere I go for breakfast lol) my boyfriend ordered the western omelette, he enjoyed it! My only real complaint is they don’t have a turning point where I live!

One of the most consistent restaurants in Ocean County. I’m not sure how the kitchen operates, but from a diner’s perspective it seems to be organized and efficient since food comes out very well-made the majority of the time. There is a certain charm to every recipe and menu item that cannot be found elsewhere. Whether you are craving a gratuitous dessert in the form of uniquely-crafted waffle or French toast dishes or a very palate-able healthy alternative, Turning Point has you covered; all of it is prepared with quality and noticeably fresh ingredients. Typically great service and a cozy atmosphere round out the package that makes Turning Point easily the best lunch/brunch spot in the area. It is a definite step-up from the typical IHOP or diner option.

I had brunch here with a good friend of mine and my fiancé when we were in NJ for the 4th of July weekend and the three of us absolutely loved it! My friend had visited before and I trust her judgment so we decided to give it a shot. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is friendly and efficient, and the décor is homey but doesn’t try too hard. The menu offers many different options, from omelettes to pancakes to sandwiches /burgers. I decided to go with the Lobster Benedict, as it had my name all over it! It came with bacon, avocado, generous pieces of lobster, tomatoes, and a hollandaise sauce. SODELICIOUS. All of the things I love in one dish. As if it wasn’t enough by itself, it also came with a side of breakfast potatoes and a fresh cup of fruit. I was in absolute heaven eating that benedict. I’m a huge fan of seafood benedict dishes(I’d previously had oyster benedict, salmon benedict, and crabcake benedict) and lobster was a perfect combination. It was also very fresh and light and didn’t upset my stomach, as eggs sometimes do. My fiancé ordered a Roadhouse Stack sandwich(Double stack grilled cheese with a smokehouse aioli, jack and cheddar cheeses, thick crispy bacon, caramelized onions, avocado, tomato and baby spinach leaves) and loved it as well. My friend ordered blueberry pancakes and they were such a generous portion that she took some to go as well. My friend also ordered a frappucino and it was so beautifully crafted and presented! My fiancé also ordered some coffee and they brought out the french press right to the table. Color me impressed. If I’m ever in the area(Brick /Toms River), I’d definitely consider visiting again!

What can I say? 5 stars for sure. From the moment I walked in until I leave. Everything was great with awesome customer service. They sure knows how to make their customers happy. Their latte is on point with 4 shots. Don’t drink t too fast tho. The lobster Benedict is well worth their price. I couldn’t help t but went 2 days in a roll and got the same plate. They have small touches that earn the five stars from me. If I ever pass by I’ll make sure I’ll come back

Ahh the Turning Point. One of the few places that has consistency towards it’s food and service. I’ve been coming here quite often usually on the weekends to enjoy some breakfast. The morning can be hectic and busy, which leads towards anywhere from a 20 – 30 minute wait. If you don’t mind waiting, this place is for you. The inside decoration and ambiance remind me of a beach home. All of which contain light colors and a sea themed trinkets lying around as decoration. BUT the most important aspect aside from decoration is how clean this facility is. The bathroom is very clean, and that is a great and unusual indicator that the restaurant itself is very clean. Oddly, the coincidence to clean bathroom and overall facility go hand in hand with each other, and that to me is a plus. Now, the most important piece of this review, the actual food itself. Before I even order a main dish, I always end up getting one of their french press’s. They have a great selection of coffee, which I usually stick to the African beans, such as the Kenyan AA, other ones such as the Hawaiian, I pass. I’m not a huge fan of flavored coffee, but their selection is nice. So coffee gets an A+ in my book, it’s way better than ordering«coffee,» from who knows what beans they get it from. If I’m feeling like a man and ready devour a ton of food, regardless of my diet. I order the Ranchos Los Huevos, as it’s probably the largest meal they have. It’s a mish-mash of potatoes, sausages, peppers, inside a tortilla topped with an egg. It’s delicious and filling, but also extremely«carby,» except of the eggs. They have plenty of other clean eating options which is another thing I applaud about this place. Overall, the service, food quality, and price are great reason to keep coming to this place. Which is why I continue coming here on the weekends, because the food and staff are good.

Love this place! It’s very charming and pleasing to the eyes on the inside. What a perfect place for weekend brunches with mom! Love their French press coffees and that they let you take it to go if you don’t finish it. There’s often a long wait, no reservations. There’s coffee for you while you wait. There’s not much room to stand and wait, and you feel in the way. But it’s well worth it! They close at 3PM. I haven’t had the best takeout experience here, but I am more than happy whenever we eat in. I just love the Monte Cristo and the Cosmopolitan salad!
