This place is a gem! The coffee was good, as was their donuts and coconut stacks. All made fresh in house. The family that runs this joint were very kind and nice enough to serve us after they closed(we were standing outside while they turned over their sign). A must for baked goods and coffee is you are passing through.

Good coffee & great almond Danish, available with a smile at six in the ay-em. Not cheap, but delicious. Coffee refill is $ 0.75 for a big ‘un.

Stopped here for breakfast on our way out of Bridgeport after camping there for the night. We saw the bakery the day before when we were driving to our campground, and we decided that we would eat breakfast there on our way home. The bakery was filled with freshly baked pastries and brewed coffee — what could be better after a night of camping? They had donuts, croissants, and lots of other fun things that I wanted to try. I bought two pastries because I couldn’t make up my mind! Our server was very friendly, especially for it being so early in the morning. They also have a microwave out so you can heat up your pastry. The shop itself was so cute, with a modern rustic look. While we were there, I saw a girl on her laptop, so I’m assuming the place has free wifi. Honestly, it looks like such a nice place to study, but I don’t know if there are any colleges around. They do not have bathrooms in the store, but they share bathrooms with the neighboring business, and they were very neat and clean. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back to Bridgeport, but if I do, this will be my first stop!

We come to Bridgeport every summer, and this FANTASTIC bakery has always been a highlight! We cannot say enough about their amazing donuts, turnovers, bear claws, croissants, sticky buns, haystacks, and homemade bread! This is a must hit for anyone near Bridgeport! The staff and owners are warm, inviting and the friendliest bunch around. The new remodel compliments the amazing baked goods! I cannot say enough good things about this bakery! I recommend it to everyone I see! Now that the original owners have taken it back over, it is better than ever! The inside is warm, inviting and has free wifi! The atmosphere is great! We love this place!!!

Thank goodness for this bakery, which(almost) literally saved my life. Upon getting locked out of the(HORRIBLE) historic inn across the street, this bakery was my only option at 6:00 in the morning. After I purchased a delicious pastry and accompanying coffee, I sat for two hours, waiting for help in the form of my sleepy husband. The owners of the bakery were friendly, filling me in on the ins and outs of the town. I had a very interesting discussion with the lady about the educational system in the area. They were very kind while I spent my two hour wait inside the shop. Yummy goods, tasty coffee, great company… who could complain???

Service was awful. When we asked if it was possible to please warm-up our croissants, she raised her voice and said there is a microwave over there. By the way, there were no plates to heat the food up on. The young girl also told us that we were making her job hard. What happened was that we asked for a jalapeño croissant and she got a plain one out. When we questioned her, she had that nice comment for us. We even said that we would go ahead and take the plain one. The croissants were very tasty. The server was even giving the next customer attitude about items she asked for. Food was good, but won’t return because of the unfriendly service.

Nugent’s is now a must-stop for me when I’m in Bridgeport. A couple of years back, my wife and I couldn’t seem to show up while it was open, and the signs outside we’re less than inviting. Now, a fresh coat of paint inside and out and new signs make Nugents more warm and friendly. The staff is incredibly friendly themselves — owners Steve and Mollie have a ton of character and are proud to show off their new mural inside of Steve’s grandparents. The atmosphere inside is great — tables to sit at, music streaming from Pandora, and free wifi make Nugent’s a great place to sit down and check your email. Inexpensive iced coffees(and coffees of every other sort) make this a wonderful little bakery that’d rival your big-brand coffee house. My only complaints are petty — that there were typically fewer doughnuts out during the day(I’m sure they run out quickly in the morning), and that the sandwiches they offer are a tad expensive for the size. I wish Nugent’s baked sandwich rolls and made their sandwiches on them — it’d justify the $ 8 price tag. My wife had the turkey and cranberry sauce sandwich and loved it — but for the same price, had a sub at the market three doors down with three different kinds of meat on a French roll. Not that Nugent’s should be trying to compete with a meat counter, but it’d be nice to see a bakery make a custom roll for their sandwiches. Minor gripes aside, I’m making sure to visit Nugent’s first thing when I get to town next year. My wife and I always want to stop at Erick Schat’s Bakkerÿ in semi-nearby Bishop on our drive up to Bridgeport but never do because of the crowd. Guess what? Nugent’s sells the same things we want from Schat’s — cinnamon bread and jalapeño cheese bread! So forget Schat’s, we’re stopping at Nugent’s for bread the second we get to town, and making sure to pick up more on our way back out of town. Speaking of that, I heard another patron request to be put on «the list» for specific bread on a specific day. That’s a great option if you know you’ll be cruising through on a certain day. Just call them up ahead of time so they know to have a fresh loaf of bread ready for you! There aren’t enough nice things to say about Nugent’s, and in a town that’s all camo and hamburgers, it’s nice to sit down with a laptop and enjoy a coffee while you read the news. I look forward to stopping in next year!

I was very annoyed by Bridgeport in general and this Bakery in particular. The town has a brand new policy of «back in» diagonal parking. I think this is idiotic and too difficult to do. Also, the main town«Inn» did not open for breakfast until 8:00, which is unbelievable for a rural small town. So I looked for an alternative — Nugent’s across the street. Nugent’s hugely disappointed me because the cute girl(young woman) who made me a Latte appears not to have known what she was doing. I took it to my car and discovered that the steamed milk was non-existent — no microfoam ATALL. I had a cup of, perhaps, café au lait. However, there was no coffee flavor and what I had was a brownish milk drink that was the worst latte I’ve ever had. I make mediocre latte’s at home and do MUCH better than what I got here. The 2 stars are only for the nice staff … well, good looking, so the experience wasn’t a total waste of money. I had no pastries besides a breakfast croissant, which was OK.

COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE This place has superb coffee, both brewed and espresso drinks. Excellent iced mocha with terrific coffee made and refrigerated. 2Min to whip out an iced coffee and everyone inside and out seemed very happy. We sat outside and watched Bridgeport roll by. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their baked good and coffees.

Excellent coffee plus a large selection of hand-made baked goods make this family-run shop a favorite for miles around. The locals come in and rave to the tourists, and the tourists do the same. Nice atmosphere, WiFi(with power outlets), microwave. Wonderful service too.

Amazing bakery for breakfast and lunch! Croissants — sweet or savory, donuts, cinnamon buns! Early morning runs to the bakery are great. Espresso drinks, coffee and amazing choices for pastries, fresh baked breads and donuts! My husband and I sampled quite a few things over the last week — croissants, chocolate, ham and cheese and with berry preserves! Apple fritters, the best. Haystacks(macaroons) — eclairs, cinnamon buns… We also packed picnic lunches and headed to Twin Lakes — sandwiches with fresh baked breads, can’t beat that! Try the Jalapeño cheese or hobo bread! 3rd generation owned. EXCELLENT!

The original owners family has returned and this is better than ever. We have been a customer for over 50 years. The haystacks are incredible. We love all the breads.

Stopped in to check out this small bakery in Bridgeport on our way to Bodie. The place was small and had a good selection of donuts and pastries, so we got an apple turnover. Very tasty! It wasn’t greasy and the dough was crisp and light with a nice apple filling inside that also wasn’t too sweet. I would stop here again if we were passing through!
