Had a business dinner here the other night. The couple I met suggested it. Pretty pleased with the price range that I requested. Salads were huge. I got the seafood pasta and found it would be good for two people. Would do other business dinners here.

Arrived 3÷5÷16 @4:30, 3 people in our party, atmosphere was very loud, got bread at our table, our table was two tables from the doorway and we had to wear our coats during the whole time because we were exposed to the outside cold air every time the door opened, Chicken Parm and Ravioli’s dinners were child sized and NO soup or salad offered with dinner, unless you pay an extra charge. Asked for water WITHOUT ice and got water WITH ice and an orange juice, and the waitress forgot the orange juice. No fruit punch or sweetened iced tea on the menu. Nothing for kids other than soda, which isn’t good for them either. Dinners started at $ 14.95 Don’t provide a pictured /printed desert menu that you could read and see the prices, only from what the waitress tells you. We went to Friendly’s after for desert.

The food was great, the drinks were great, and the server was great! It is a little outdated in the décor department, but don’t let that throw you off the food is soooo good.

Here’s the deal with this place… it’s like home. The owners, managers, staff, and one really great bartender make you feel like you belong. They appreciate their customer and give back to the community! What more can you ask for!?! Good food, drinks, and people! Always will be one of my FAVES!!!

Hostess was polite and immediately sat us done. Chocolate martini was delicious and not to strong. Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and the pasta cooked perfectly. The price was very decent for 4 adults and one child. The service was speedy and very friendly.

If there was a zero star option I would have chose it. The only positive thing was our waitress was very nice. I remember eating here years ago and it was decent food, so I had no issue with stopping in for dinner because we were in the area. The food was a sodium overload of grossness. The chicken Parmesan was a fake processed piece of chicken parts you would find in a TV dinner. The pizzas were completely raw, you’d be better off ordering Dominos. The only good thing was the fresh lettuce in my Caesar salad. I ordered the dressing on the side which was probably a good idea. I can almost guarantee it would have been drowning. I will never return here again.

Was a part of a larger group last night that had a reservation. First sign it would be less than stellar was that they weren’t set up for us as they were admittedly short-staffed. On a Sunday evening. Anyway, they ended up putting us in an empty, separate dining room to the side which was actually nice since we could enjoy conversation and didn’t have to feel squeezed in and bumped into. Second sign was the rudeness of our waitress. Correction, we had two; one was amazing, the other, whom unfortunately seemed to be the main one, wasn’t so much rude as she was brutally honest. We’re a family with teenagers so only 2 of our large party were drinking. She seemed VERY annoyed by that as I’m sure she saw her tip dwindle. We didn’t order many apps either because we know pasta is very filling and we were all looking forward to the meals. We hadn’t received our bread yet and asked, to which she replied«don’t worry, you’ll get your free apps.» Thinking we all heard her wrong, we let it slide. So the food. As she brought out the dishes, she loudly announced each dish and we had to tell her to whom they belonged. She slammed down the pasta in front of one guest(the one paying for the entire meal) and a few pieces of pasta with red sauce landed in her lap. It wasn’t acknowledged. The waitress saw it happen, but just walked away. Thank goodness a napkin was in her lap. After the meals came, we were on our own. We had to literally stop her in her tracks to get grated cheese for the table, which should have been a no-brainer for an Italian restaurant. A bus boy brought the cheese and we didn’t see our waitress again until she showed up with boxes for leftovers. Her only redemption was the birthday cupcake she brought out without being asked to. Not wanting to spoil and already-turned tense birthday dinner, we didn’t complain, but trust me, we had to reign in one of our party from causing a scene. The service was unacceptable, the portions much smaller and the bolognese was dry and flavorless. Given each meal as almost $ 20 with no soup or salad, I definitely will not be back.

Went here on a last minute decision for a nice Sunday Italian dinner. Everything was perfect and delicious from beginning to end! We arrived a little after 5 pm and there were several tables open, by the time we left it was packed and barely a table left. I ordered the chicken sorrento while my fiancé had chicken francais, both dishes were cooked to perfection and probably the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had. Simply delicious. Service with a smile and a basket of cheesy bread. Highly recommended. Oh. One more thing, we enjoyed it so much we’ve decided to have our wedding reception here!

I have been here many times, and still can’t figure out why. Each time, I have been disappointed. This time, I stopped in for lunch and ordered the baked ziti. The meal was basically dried, box ziti with cheese. Almost no sauce, or the sauce had been dried out due to multiple hearings. I would have ordered some sauce to put over this mass of starch, but the waitress did not even look in my direction until she delivered my check. No, she did not ask whether I enjoyed my meal. Had she asked, I would have told the waitress what I thought: «Inedible. Completely and utterly inedible.» This was the last straw. I will not be back, because I can make better at home with a box of Ronzoni and a bottle of Classico.

Why this place gets the reviews it does astounds me. It consistently dishes out the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. My beautifull and intelligent wife and partner of 35 years seems to think this place can do no wrong. Fellas, it can. I have been disappointed, appaled and disgusted so many times, I’ve lost count. Chicken, veal, pizza, pasta all fall far short. Clumsy and inept kitchen should be ashamed of what they send out to the customers. Why go, then? Because my wife loves the food. And in a moment of weakness, I found myself saying«ok, honey! You choose»” The place is a bedlam of loud customers, bellowing bar patrons, and the hottest men’s room this side of an Iraq tourtuor center. Friendly but inexperienced wait staff does their best, but cannot overcome the kitchen rookies. First, food timing. Apps should come first, not at the same time as the entreees. Food should not arrive hap-hasardly, but all at about the same time. Since I had no expectations of decent food, I chose the cheapest thing on the menu. No one could possibly screw up a meatball grinder, could they? Oh, yes they can, and oh, yes they did. It arrived looking burnt. It was. The meatballs had an unpleasant, mealy texture that suggested freezer burn. There was no sauce at all on the sandwich, and the cheeze had a gummy and taffy like quality that screamed«pre-prepared». It was stone cold,(except for the burned bread), and came with French fries(why?), and had the equally unappetizing quality of being less than half-cooked. Nasty. I really do not want to come here again, but I love my wife so…

I’m a freelance production assistant who’s worked on a various amount of tv shows and programs but nothing’s more stressful than having to pick a place in a location you’re not familiar with and order lunch for a crew of about 15. In July, I came across Vazzy’s and was skeptical about the mixed reviews. When I called, a woman walked me through the catering menu, offered different selections and made sure I was happy with the order. When I went to pick it up, I was greeted with warm smiles I was told what was in each tray and container and even had help to my car. The crew and myself all raved about the food and the producer Tammy was really impressed. I don’t know why the reviews were so mixed but I can honestly say that Vazzy’s has some of the best food and service I’ve ever encountered.

I have been to this location a few times and it’s by far the best vazzy’s their is. The food is full of flavor, the prices are decent. I placed a order on Tuesday right before closing the waiter didn’t mind taking my order so late. I should mention I never even looked at the menu before ordering. My food was fresh and I will definitely be returning! Keep up the good work.

Wow, so that’s probably my last visit. I’ve been going since they opened. I even made out in a van in the parking lot with some weirdo as a teenager. I’m surprised I wasn’t killed or kidnapped there on the Bridgeport line — lol! I have always loved the cavatelli and broccoli served sizzling in the pan. When it came in a normal bowl and I inquired about the pan, both the server and manager were utterly perplexed. They literally had to get the menu out and read«served in pan…» Uh ok. They redid for me but it was only ok. When I go out to carb overload, I want to be satiated and pleased. I’m not in the mood for issues. And then you go to an old standby favorite, you want your comfort food without hassle. It wasn’t a great experience overall. I don’t feel it’s my job to pay you and explain your menu to you. Pizza today was ok too. Not awesome but ok. Hey you can’t go wrong with huge servings and a great happy hour. Vazzy’s will survive with one less carb conscious person frequenting. Kudos for adding gluten free too!

Just returned from a dinner with a party of ten people. Do not go with a party large enough that the tip is built into your check if you are itemizing and splitting your check! The house rule is that they will give the whole party a single check and let everyone figure out what they owe. We spent the better part of 20 minutes doing the house’s work. Service was very good, everything arrived in a very timely fashion, and our waitress was very responsive. As to the food, let me start by saying I avoid pasta, bread and high fat dressings and sauces as much as I can. My wife and I shared a house salad. Large and good. As much as we could eat. I had a special, salmon almandine. The fish was good, but hardly extraordinary, my wife enjoyed her Fettuccine Monte Carlo. As a broad statement, this is not a restaurant you choose for its gastronomic excellence. The menu is large, the food ordinary. It’s not food you dissect and describe in detail. I doubt I will return there soon, as much because that cuisine is not one I would choose as because I am annoyed that we were forced to do what a machine could have done faster, easier and more accurately.

I normally don’t comment on Unilocal however I found this place on here so I might as well share my experience. I visited the restaurant on a busy Friday evening. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The hostess was friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for a table considering how busy it was. As soon as we sat down, we were given an amazing bread basket that included cheesey bread and peppers. The food was amazing and the portions were HUGE. I have to say I was impressed with the food, service, and most of all the waitress. I will be going back again soon. If your in the area definitely give this place a try it’s VERY well worth it!

Waiting… Waiting… Waiting to be served… And we reserved ahead for a party :(Unbelievable !!! But hey we are Vazzys so too bad for you if you don’t like it. food was unremarkable. had to wait to get served, had to wait to get wine, had to wait to get water, had to wait to get coffee… I know it is a popular place but is it really that hard to find wait staff for hire?

Unilocal is usually right and they were with this one. The food was excellent but the staff not so much. I could see this place a 4 star but they need better customer service.
