Service is great food is enjoyable but they are not the best Indian curries you will get, the tandoori cooked meat and fish dishes are excellent the chicken spring roll appetizer is one of our favorites, my 11 year old daughter loves this dish, the owner and waitstaff are very friendly

We planned on eating lunch at Thai Kitchen however as a result of it being closed we ended up at Bombay Spice. We ordered mini dosas, delicious, Chicken Korma, good, and Gobi manchurian, wished it was crispier. We finished off with a carrot and cardamom dessert which was unexpectedly delicious.

Great food, great people, never disappoints! I’ve been hesitant to write reviews, but this place definitely deserves it! The buffet was great, and had tons of variety for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Their naans are hot and fluffy, and goes great with whatever curry you want(I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala). I am definitely going to come back! If you want good portioned Indian food for a reasonable price, come to Bombay Spice.(I didn’t mean to make that rhyme).

The sole star I have bestowed upon this restaurant is simply for the fact that we were served grilled pappadam with mint chutney while we waited for our food to arrive(it took almost 40 minutes for the food to be served). I ordered chicken kolhapuri as the restaurant is named«Bombay Spice» and is run by Marathis(people from a specific region of Western India) and Chicken Kolhapuri is a Marathi delicacy. But the dish was as bland as it can be, while the gravy was unnecessarily creamy. I also ordered another Indian favorite Gobhi Manchurian, and ordering it was a grave mistake. What I got is deep fried vegetable fritters in a flavorless brown gravy: no gobhi(cauliflower) and no manchurian! The bread(we ordered Aloo Cheese Paratha) was barely decent, but it seemed it was the only edible dish in our table. DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!!

My first ever visit to this restaurant but whenever I am back in town I will nake it a point of eating here. Great food, great prices, great service. Don’t expect food in a jiffy it is obvious that they do cook it fresh so be prepared. Only bad thing no beer but mango lassi is great.

They have a lunch buffet Monday-Saturdays for under $ 15 per person. Selection was limited with basmati rice, 3 chicken dishes, 3 veg dishes and toppings and sides for the salad. Overall good service, the naan was brought to the table(nice and warm) and the food was flavorful.

Bombay Spice is fantastic. Friendly service, great food, great prices. From start to finish always a great meal. Try the Mango Lassi, any lamb or chicken dish(lamb biryani my fave), some garlic naan and enjoy!

I’m from California and frequent the Indian food at the Indian restaurant that was featured on the food network because they had the best naan. So when I moved to jersey, I was really craving some Indian food. Bombay spice did not disappoint. I’ll split my review up: Food: we ordered the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and gobi manchurian. On the side we ordered garlic naan. It comes with UNLIMITED rice! You don’t get that in many Indian restaurants. You usually have to pay. The staff even explained the background of the gobi manchurian dish which is always nice. I loved the food! I will say the chicken tikka is a little different than the type I usually get. It still tasted great, but it just wasn’t the creamy smooth texture I’m used to. But I still loved it. Location/Environment: it is a smaller shop, but with a very homey feel. It has the feel of a fancy restaurant because the lights are dimmed and its decorated nicely, but we were dressed in basketball clothes and didn’t feel out of place at all. Staff: the staff was super friendly! The owner and manager spoke to us directly. They felt like our friends at the end of the meal. They gave us suggestions and asked about our days etc. it was nice. All in all 5 stars, will be coming back here soon and often :)

Pick up order. The rice was old and stale! The panner tikka masala was undercooked and the spices were still raw. Even the garlic Naan was slightly undercooked. Overall quite disappointed, was expecting it to be much better based on the the reviews that I read.

Our first experience at the restaurant was their lunch buffet, which was not good(mostly vegetarian options… if not all) However, we decided to give it another try after a long time and the cook to order food was really good. Chicken tikka maslala and butter chicken were done really well. My wife loved their biryani rice. Would I go back: Definitely Would I recommend: Definitely Favorite dish: Chicken Tikka Masala Tips: Online coupons.

I’d wanted to visit this restaurant for quite some time and I went there for dinner yesterday. We were seated promptly and the waiter was very attentive and courteous. Throughout our meal he made sure to check on us and fill out water glasses. For appetizers we ordered the sampler and it was delicious. I ordered the chicken curry and my son ordered the lamb vindaloo. I like the fact that they ask you whether you prefer mild, medium or very spicy. Everything was delicious, the owner even came out and brought us extra rice. For desserts we order the ice cream flavored with cardamom, delish! And the Bombay brownie with ice cream. We will definitely return again.

Simply the best Indian food in the area. The restaurant is just okay in terms of décor. I feel like most of their business is take out.

Great authentic Indian food. We had the samosas, chicken korma and lamb vindaloo. Kids enjoyed the chicken tandoori, naan, and dessert. Don’t miss the mango lassi, balance to perfection. The best of all is the great service from the owner and staff! Will definitely come back!

I grew up in that area and happened to be visiting my parents for my dad’s 65th birthday. And I can say this was the best Indian food I’ve had in Somerset County and even in New Jersey in general. The hosts were incredibly gracious. For appetizers we started off With the aloo paratha and the mixed grill plate. For dinner we shared the lamb biryani, the chicken Makhni, and the lamb curry. My absolute favorite thing was the biryani. Next time I’m visiting my family I will definitely recommend we stop by here for a great dinner. Finally there’s a good Indian restaurant in the area. Also as a bonus they gave my my dad a plate of Indian dessert on the house and it’s BYOB. what else could you ask for!

I’ve been here two times so far – once for a dine-in dinner and once for a takeout dinner. Both times, I ordered the matar paneer, chicken makhani, and garlic naan. The matar paneer was excellent. The sauce was slightly different from what I’m used to, but it was still delicious. I especially loved the flavor of the cheese in conjunction with the sauce. The chicken makhani was also great. The pieces of chicken inside of the dish were very tender and cooked well. The sauce was slightly tomato-y, and I really enjoyed eating it with the rice and the garlic naan. The garlic naan(the first time) was soft with just the right amount of garlic flavor. It was very good when eaten with the sauces provided or even by itself. The food was consistently good both times(for the most part), but my takeout experience was dramatically worse than my dine-in experience. There were three main issues that ruined the takeout experience for me. First of all, the wait time was absurd. On the phone, they told me it would take about 20 – 25 minutes for the food to be prepared. I got to the restaurant about 20 minutes after the call to pick up my food, and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the food to come out. They gave me some free chips and water while I was waiting, and they were also very apologetic. so I guess it’s good they at least tried a little bit to make up for the long wait time. I was told something about there being a large order in front of mine, but I suspect that they just forgot to put in my order when I called(why would they tell me it would take 20 – 25 minutes if they knew about a large order in front of mine?). The second issue is the amount of rice they gave us for takeout compared to dine-in. When you eat at the restaurant, it’s basically unlimited rice. They keep refilling your rice dish whenever you want more. For takeout, we only received one container of rice for the two entrees we ordered. By the time we finished the rice, we still had half of each entrée remaining. I’m not sure if this was a mistake or not, but I definitely would’ve liked a second container of rice. I would’ve called and asked for a second container, but I just wasn’t in the mood to drive back to the restaurant at this point. The last issue was the garlic naan. Parts of the naan were very burnt and crispy/flakey. The burnt parts were visually obvious, so I’m not sure why they thought it was acceptable to send it out like that. The prices here are very reasonable as far as Indian food goes. I used a Unilocal deal the first time here(can only be used for dine-in) which made the value even better. though I felt a little bad and ended up tipping a large amount to cancel out most of the discount anyway. The waiters here are very friendly, and they check up on you a good amount of times to make sure you are satisfied throughout your meal. I really like the food here, but it’s hard for me to give this restaurant a high rating after my last takeout experience. I’d be willing to give them another chance in the future to see if it was just a one-time thing. will update my review/rating if that is the case.

Service was spot on. Then again, there was only two tables occupied(including us). I just LOVE the chips and dipping sauce they give you right as you order. First off, you only get the green Chimicurri sauce, no red sauce. Shame. Although good, the green sauce needed cilantro. :) The Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo were excellent. The onion and cheese & potato naan were both good choices. It’s byob so bring a bottle(or two) with you!

This is my 5th time ordering! And I feel they deserve 5* because A. Everytime I call to do a takeout order they are very nice and polite staff that answer the phone! B. The food always taste fresh, hot and delicious! C. Whenever I call even after a few mins after their closing time just to make sure they aren’t still there to take orders someone always answers I think maybe the owner, but even though they close he is never rude. You get my business for having good customer service skills and for delivering quality! I always order take out never ate at the restaurant Because I hate crowds but I’ve never been disappointed! Thanks BS! Omg! The Chicken Madras is sooooo delicious!!! My first time getting it and it’s soooo good!

Went to Bombay for lunch buffet with a co-worker that had spent the first 30 or so years of his life in India. His comments were that it was ‘OK, a little bland, and not spicy at all’. Atmosphere was just ok, nothing special. $ 9.95 for lunch buffet, good price, but relatively limited options. There were maybe 4 or 5 curries(two of which were tomato based), tandoori chx, potato samosa, salad with a few chutney options, and a desert dish. Maybe there are more options for dinner seating? Though, I don’t know where they would be put… there isn’t a whole lot of space left… Anywho, food was what i think of just your average, good, but again, nothing to write home about. To my co-worker’s point, nothing with any heat available. Very good service.

We used to be regulars here and have enjoyed their rather muted Indian entrees. This day we went for the lunch buffet and were a bit underwhelmed by the buffet selections. The apps section had one option — make-your-own papri chaat. The main lunch entrée — two or maybe three for the vegetarians — were, as expected, a bit muted for the office lunch crowd. One of us ordered from the menu — tho establishment had a clear preference that patrons rather go for the lunch buffet. The idli + sambar dish was good but the preparation was a bit slow — so don’t recommend doing it again. Also ordered masala tea — good serving size but a bit too creamy. Recommend you request creamer/milk on the side. Parking is not particularly a problem and the place does get crowded during lunch time.
