While shopping in this store, I found an item that was not available in my size. I asked the salesperson if it was available in another store. The salesperson searched the computer and found that it was available and advised that it would be shipped within 5 – 7 business days. After following up on the customer service line, the automated system advised the item was fulfilled. I then followed up with a live person who told me the item was on back order. In the interim, my Credit Card has been charged while waiting for an item that is not actually in stock or available. Lord and Taylor needs to do a better job of communicating their process and providing accurate information when they are tying up a customers funds while determining IF an item is truly available in their inventory. My first and last experience with this retailer.

I recently visited this store in search of a specific Michael Korrs handbag. I was fully expecting to have to shell out full price for the bag, so you’d imagine my surprise when I found out Lord and Taylor had it on sale for 25% off the normal price. So instead of the $ 244 it would only be $ 186. This made me incredibly happy already. (As was the person whom was buying the purse for me as a birthday gift.) As we ascended towards the register to pay for the bag, the employee informed us of another promotion in which we could save an additional 20% just for signing up for texts. I did so and we saved even more on the purse bringing a $ 244 purse down to $ 159. Talk about an amazing deal (Even better then the outlet. Which coincidentally I tried for the handbag and found out the color I wanted was a full price color. And the purses were $ 200 there.) I just wanted to tell everyone of how incredibly kind that cashier was to tell me about another money saving coupon. As a not regular Lord and Taylor shopper, I found this to be wonderful. I definitely recommend visiting this store, because the staff is A+ in customer satisfaction. And to the cashier I had whom I don’t know your name. You are awesome.

It is a good store but what sets them apart is their service and anyone that shops here knows that. So if you score something on sale great, if not, its ok as long as you really like what you are getting and know that the store is behind you. In the long run they pull in some nice profits by making their customers feel reassured.
Also their exclusives are decent too. So all in all, try them out.
