Very nice place to go for dinner the calamari is very good here nice tender not rubber or over cooked. The nachos are also very good with lots of chili n cheese very sweet not spicy or hot. The penna pasta with vodka and susage was very good and interesting twist. the bread that was brought out to the table was warm n fresh. Did not feel like it was reheated i would totaly recommend going here for dinner with friends and family

Best thing they ever did was to start serving fresh sushi! Sushi is fresh and delicious! Blackened pork chops are to die for. We go there 3 – 4 times per month. Bartenders are a little slow but the food makes up for it. Definitely a good sushi place for the Jersey shore. Prices are acceptable and right.

When you’re in the mood for an easy-going place with good food decent prices and comfortable come here. Although a half hour drive for us we always find it worth the trip

Simko’s had the chance to earn a five star review, as the venue for our nephew’s first birthday party… unfortunately, average eats and only one shining star of a server(out of literally the entire staff AND ownership) chopped this rating down to a paltry two stars. The pros: Good location, a nice event space(we were in the front room, which is bright and airy), a great partner bakery, and a few good things on the buffet(the stuffed tilapia and roasted potatoes were highlights). Special shout out to our designated main server, Filo — he was friendly, attentive, and not overbearing. The cons: Some of the buffet items were decidedly«meh»… but the biggest issue is the attitude that much of the staff is sporting. Have you ever met someone who exudes the fact that he/she would rather be anywhere other than where he/she is at the time? Someone who is in a service role, but makes a guest feel like he/she is imposing? That perfectly describes our experience with most every staff member aside from Filo. It went beyond rudeness — it was an air that made people feel unwelcomed, like nuisances at an event to which they were invited. I can abide lackluster buffet items… but service that makes guests who have been paid for feel like they’re imposing? That’s just not cool.

Wait down the street was 45 minutes, so we came here to try it out. Should have waited the 45 mins. Seafood was overcooked. Shrimp & scallops were tough. No seasoning other than paprika sprinkled on it. We witnessed and heard the manager or owner complaining about a to go ordering sitting around. A short while later an employee was crying and cursing about being yelled at right behind us. Felt like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Will not be returning. :(

Ended up here Saturday night after not being able to get into another restaurant around the corner. We were seated in the main dining area which was crowded and very noisy. It took about 10 minutes for a server to get to us but she was very pleasant. It was nearly an hour before our meals came out. My Blackened Mahi Mahi was so spicy it was nearly inedible and my wife’s vodka rigatoni was nothing special. The employees were nice, the food was mediocre and the atmosphere was terrible. Probably won’t go back again.

The tap beer here is nice and cold! Prices are very cheap but the fries were stale and the wraps were all soggy. The sushi was frozen and the rolls were all loose. Special rolls did not have any special sauces on them. Parking lot is huge and the restrooms were kept clean.

Has this place recently changed ownership? It’s our family tradition to come here for Mother’s Day brunch — have been coming for the last 8 years or so. This year, it was completely new staff — not nearly as friendly, and definitely not as helpful. The spread was much different than previous years, but the food was pretty good, and they had an extensive selection of both breakfast foods and hot buffet(pasta, chicken, etc.) and a dessert offering. Fast-forward to Father’s Day. We came for brunch yesterday and the spread was COMPLETELYDIFFERENT. #1 — they no longer offer the complimentary mimosa or bloody mary — juice and coffee only. For food, they only offered breakfast food and a carving station(odd combo.) There was no lunch-type offering. In addition there were NODESSERTS. It’s only been a little over a month and there’s complete turnaround in service and quality. And, from what I remember, we paid the same price for the Father’s Day brunch as the Mother’s Day brunch. We will NOT be going back there any time soon. It’s really a shame because celebrating the holiday with a family brunch there used to be something we looked forward to. Oh well!

Walked in and very nice. Took a good look around and looks very clean. Waiter was nice and very quick with drinks, order and was over all great. We ordered our food and the wait wasn’t that long with 5 people. Food was really good. Ribs are good, buffalo chicken tenders good, chicken franches and the sushi was very good. Great place, really recommend it. Eat up!

Simko’s is nice enough inside, with generally a lackluster ambiance. You won’t be wowed, but you might feel comfortable. Just referring to the Sunday Brunch — but based on this visit, I have seen enough. Service was acceptable. Powdered eggs, stale bagels, crumbled bacon, freezer burn potatoes, microwaved sausage, «hardboiled» eggs benedict… you get the picture. Two stars for the fresh cooked baby spinach and cheddar omelette. Prosaic at best, and way too many other options, won’t be going back for Brunch, and you lost me for lunch or dinner too.

First time eating here at Simkos and it was a disappointment. Of all waiters, we got the worst one. I think his name was Daniel? He was pretty laid-back personality like he doesn’t really care. He would have his hand on his waist and another hand leaning on the booth. He would be gone for a long time so we ended up asking another person to help us. He was pretty monotone and wasn’t as enthusiastic as other waiters, like Chris. Daniel was also not attentive. We waited a long time for him to come to our table to just clear some plates and refill a drink… Food was bland. I ordered a medium-rare steak… It came out well done and burnt on the side. It took a long while before the food came out too… And there weren’t that many customers either. There were football games on and because I was sitting at one of the booths by the door and bathrooms, I couldn’t watch the game that well because they had the old TVs playing it and it was kind of blurry. I don’t think I’ll ever be coming back…

This was my second time eating at Simko’s but I had the same results as the first time. The restaurant was hardly busy for a Saturday night and the servers were acting like it was packed. There were 6 of us and they wouldn’t let us sit at any of the open booths because they claimed they were«reserved» even though no one ended up sitting at them the entire time we were there. Our server was very slow to get us drinks, it took him at least 15 – 20 minutes to bring us over beers even though the bar was right next to our table. The food on the other hand came out very quickly and it was very good! But when we needed a refill on drinks and extra silverware, our server was no where to be found. By the time we got his attention we were ready to leave but then there was another issue splitting the bill. He said he couldnt split the bill because he «already printed it out». Ive never heard of a restaurant that wont split the bill two ways when dealing with a table with multiple couples? We even went to the manager and she said they aren’t able to do it. They had an ATM but of course it was out of service so we had to all pay on one card then drive to the bank after to take out cash to split the bill that way. To be honest, it was such a nightmare. Even though the food was very delicious, i wont be going back.

We had a rehearsal dinner tonight and it was very nice. The service was great, the owner visited us to say hi and food was great. Nice place for a rehearsal dinner or shower in the private room, and I’ve also been there for a night out with my husband.

1st time there with the family and it’s clear I will only be back for a beer and apps. Good bar area, plenty of TV’s and liked the beer selection on tap. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but the best dish was the mozzarella sticks… yeah I said it. Seemed very fresh with the cheese being soft and the it was a fried perfectly. Now for the rest… Daughters ravioli looked bad and tasted worse. No flavor at all. Mother daughters burger was flat out burnt. Wife’s quesadilla was packed like a Stromboli and was just not that good. I had the sliders which I thought was a can’t miss dish but it was over cooked, tiny piece of meat and just lacked flavor. Waitress was working in various rooms which she told us hence the service being average at best. It’s a shame because this place is so close to my house.

This place is awful! Came here for their brunch breakfast. The food was disgusting! Omelette was undercooked and the rest of the food was just warmed up processed rubbish. Service was shocking. The two guys who served us were rude and pretty much half asleep. Got major attitude from one of them too when trying to tell him that we wanted two decaf coffees and two regular, which seemed to confuse the hell out of him. Avoid this place at all costs! Many other great places nearby.

Good food, good service, dead atmosphere… nothing like a DJ playing to an empty room. Excellent Tuna roll, good quesadilla good sliders, great fries. Waiter was great– but felt like the last guest at a tired wedding…
