This place is a gem. I bought a few summer dresses from here within two weeks! It’s a little boutique with a small selection of clothes and accessories. The girls who work there are very pleasant and helpful! They really know how to put an outfit together. They apparently get shipments once a week. Just a few new items. You won’t always find your size but I guess that’s what happens when you buy from a boutique. I will probably be stopping by in a few days to check out the new selection!

My mom found a suit for fifty bucks here. She was visiting me for the weekend and we had an impromptu church service to attend and she only brought up her jeans and sweatshirts, so she needed to find a suit FAST! We were going to grab some delicious lunch @ Smoken Joe’s BBQ, which is great and a few doors down. But, we stopped in to see if About had anything. Now, they mostly carry cute«going out» clothes. But, my mom ended up finding a really nice navy pinstriped suit. It was 100 bucks and it was ½ off. She tried it on in the fitting room and came out to show me, and it fit perfectly. She paid the nice girl working there and we left, feeling very pleased. Check this place out! You’ll never know what you might find!

The more convenient my living situation, the lazier I become. Even though I live in Brighton, the thought of schlepping myself to Boston proper or even the Arsenal Mall for a new top or pair of earrings is downright exasperating to me. Enter About. While grabbing a drink at Devlin’s last week, surrounded by an apres-work group in chic clothes I was cruelly reminded of the fact that I am still kickin’ it in 8 year old Old Navy capris and an equally unimpressive top. On the walk home, I notice About boasts a couple of cute necklaces in the window. Enough to entice me. The two ladies who work there(owners?) venture a friendly greeting. I return in kind and start checking out the goods. Purses, flats, tops, dresses and a good array of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and head wear. Hmm. not bad. The wares seam to straddle the Pixi-Forever 21 standard: most cute, but some are a little too close to Rave circa 1999. The fitting room offers a large mirror and, unexpectedly, a mirrored ceiling. First thing I think of is to make sure that the door affords no peep shows to those in the store. Safe. I am not going to lie, I spend the next few seconds getting what I like to think is a really tall guy’s perspective of my rack. Then I head out. I settle on a very cute, dangly pair of earrings, all the while fighting the urge to add yet another pair of black flats to my collection, pay and leave. For jewelry(and maybe those flats), I will be back!
