Around the Block Home Inspections

Very happy with their inspection of my new home in Longmont. It’s an older home and Eric knew where to look for problems, and was thorough. He also made himself available by telephone so I could discuss the report with him, and gave me practical advice. Excellent!

What a pleasure to work with Eric! Buying a house for the first time has been so crazy but it really helps to know that the inspection is done by someone with the right knowledge and great communication skills.
I was present for almost the entire inspection and Eric had great responses and idea for all of them! The report was perfect– concise, easy to read and very informative. If you’re wondering about any plumbing issues, he’s also a good resource!

Eric is a very knowledgeable inspector. He doesn’t try to up sell you on services you don’t need. Not another «chain» inspectors. He thoroughly inspected every inch of the house, went all the way up in the attic (didn’t just stick his head in the attic like most inspectors). He didn’t mind that I followed him around the entire time. I like the fact that he’s a master plumber and has a background in HVAC, so his background is solid, he just didn’t take a two week class and call him self a home inspector. He didnt nit pick the house over minor stuff just to throw on a report. Some house inspectors feel like they have to justify their existence by finding minor cosmetic stuff, but he is not like that! He focused on catching the «big fish» and didnt worry about frivolous things (torn screen, etc). His report was received the same day, great pictures, good documentation. I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Eric was wonderful. He did thorough inspection of my potential home and gave a quick comprehensive report. He also spent a generous amount of time explaining to me all the issues (an old home) and went above and beyond helping me (a dummy about these things) understand what it all meant.
My 3 year old also loved the Junior Inspector form and magnifying glass he gave her.

Eric is awesome to work with. We used him to inspect our new home 1 month before the builders 1-​year warranty inspection takes place.
Let me say I originally hesitated wondering if it was worth the cost — BUT sitting here at noon when he just left after starting at 8am, I can say he’s well worth the cost!
While he didn’t find anything major, and I take comfort in that — he did find a short list of smaller issues including but not limited to:
— a small shower leak I hadn’t noticed
— basement joist hangers improperly nailed (on short joists)
— laundry vent fan not working
— improperly braced deck stairs
— misc other small issues
& on a PLUS side he showed us positive things we missed:
— a garage wall light switch for the attic above the garage
— a battery backup for the gas fireplace that needs batteries in case of a power outage
— he showed how to increase our water pressure at the hose bibs
— he explained the shower scolding control that prevented one shower from warming up
I can not recommend Eric strongly enough!!!
