Love coming here with friends. Food and drinks are great and prices reasonable. A rare bar that serves breakfast I’ll have to try it sometime. Plenty of TVs to watch red wings or tigers games. Only complaint is its small and narrow so it can get loud easily

Beer selection is outstanding with a great rotation of taps each week. As for the food, expect it fried, little in the way of creativity here and that’s fine if your expectations are in line. Better bar food options in Brighton, for sure. On a recent visit I noticed there was a lot of drinking going on behind the bar, so much so that it significantly affected the service(unless, of course you were doing shots with the bartender). Ownership may want to be on site more, seems to be an absentee landlord situation and the mice are playing!

Looks like the typical dive sports bar. A nice beer selection and food. I like that they buy the best meats from the local butcher so it’s high quality and fresh. Ground round burger cheddar bacon and sautéed mushrooms was really good. They also got the bison and elk that I will try next time.

Always a great time at champs. Drinks and food being affordable for every night of the week and a staff that treats you like family, it’s my first choice when I go out!

The best burger in Brighton. I love the old school atmosphere of Champs Pub. I recommend stopping by here for lunch or dinner if you are in the area. Great spot!

I would give this place a 4 star but they need more than one waitress working to cover the whole bar. Overall my wife and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night not knowing what to expect since this is our first time here. Food was good, beer was good, just the service was a little touch and go. We felt bad for the waitress to be the only one working with pretty much a full bar.

A good variety of taps and good pub food. To all longtime Brighton residents, Champs is a tradition. They have been here forever and let’s hope they stay for many more. It’s the number one place to watch a game and grab a brewski with your friends. My buddies and I have been stopping in here since we were 21– heck, let’s be real, before that, too. Chilli cheese fries and onion rings are done right here. Actually, they got a lot of pretty good pub food on the menu. Brighton’s number one watering hole.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Why does your staff act like they don’t want to do their jobs? Ordered appetizer and it took 40 minutes so we just cancelled. When we told the waitress why she said, «Yeah well everyone is waiting for their food» Really? Including the table of 8 that sat down 20 minutes after my 2 friends and I and got ALL their food in 15 minutes? Fire your staff.

Surprisingly, in Michigan there are not a lot of restaurants that offer game meats. At Champs they have, Buffalo, Elk, and Yak. When you walk into this place, my first thought was of the college bars, I used to frequent. Very dark inside, not to big, but they were jammed packed for lunch. There were only 4 people working for what looked like at least 50 people in the restaurant. There was 1 cook, 1 waitress, a bartender, and what looked like to be the owner or manager. We came for the game meats, we ordered an elk burger with cheese and hot peppers, and a Yak burger with cheese and grilled mushrooms. My son ordered the cheese hot dog on a hoagie roll. For appetizer we ordered the fried zucchini which was solid. The elk burger was juicy and tasted great, you could tell you were not eating beef, my wife and I both favored the yak burger which the meat itself had this sweetest taste to it not found in beef, very good. For my two game burgers, my sons hot dog, the fried zucchini, and 22oz dead guy ale the total bill was $ 46 including tip, a little pricey, but anywhere, I have ever eaten game meat tends to always be expensive. Compared to chains like 5 guys or elevation burger you can easily spend 10 to 15 dollars on burger fries and drink, so relatively speaking, I thought the prices were ok for what we were getting.

If its on the menu, its probably fried. I’m giving them 4 stars on being unique, old school(been here over 20 years), and the beer selection. Anyone that taps either a Dead Guy Ale or a Left Hand Nitro Stout is worthy of respect from me. You got it Champ!

I love Brighton, I live in Brighton, I love the restaurants and bars, but not this one. Why? The attitudes from the wait staff. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke, not no… second, third, and fourth time, still the same attitudes. Food was decent I guess, but it’s bar food. I simply won’t return because of the service. We eat out at least 3 times a week, so they will simply just miss out on my business. Also, asked for a cold glass for my beer and was told«no», «they save the cold mugs for draft beer drinkers only». Really?

Disappointed with the food and the service. The nachos were bland and made with no imagination and the chicken Caesar was so-so. The waitress was rude and not accommodating at all. I will not be returning.

I heard people raving about the burger here, so I figured I’d go and check it out. To start with, the inside is pretty dark. I’m not sure bar’s are supposed to be THIS dark. It didn’t add much to the«atmosphere.» The service is pretty crappy, to be honest. No one was mean, but no one was very happy to see me and«prompt» is not a word in their vocabulary here. You can tell that anyone who’s a «regular» gets treated tremendously better than you. Not only does that look poorly on them, it makes anyone«new» not want to return — ever. It’s just not welcoming or advantageous to have this stance. I ordered a burger with some simple addons. It came after a bit of a wait. It was cooked alright and the addons(lettuce, tomato, onion) were all correct. The bun was pretty much right off of a local supermarket’s shelves — typical white bread that falls apart the minute you breathe on it. The burger was cooked decent, but there wasn’t any flavor. It was just bland, bland, bland. I was liberal with the salt shaker on the table and finally got it to taste like something. Not impressed at all. Lastly, for a simple burger with simple ingredients, service that was pretty sub-par, and not even fries, I got a $ 12 bill. The entire experience was not worth my money. I will not be back and I would not recommend it to others.

I love champs food and beer selection. I won’t be going there anymore because of the wait staff. From the second I walked in I felt like the waitress was angry that we had the nerve to come in. We were polite and friendly to her. 2 out of the four people at our table were servers, and very sympathetic towards a busy waitress but it got to be too much. We were sitting there with 4 empty glasses, dirty plates on the table, we couldn’t get her to make eye contact with us to come to our table to order our dinners. We finally had to leave and walk over to Stout to eat. We all eat out frequently and NONE of us could believe that paying customers would be treated that way. This is by NOMEANS the first time I’ve been treated rudely by a champs waitress but it will definitely be my LAST!!!

The food is good — the service not so much! They need to update the place with some BIG windows and some friendly servers that appreciate having customers!!! RUDEST wait staff EVER!!!

Good beer selection. Burger was not impressive. Plain and boring. Skip it and go to Bagger Daves.

The restaurant itself is nothing fabulous, but it doesn’t need to be with how great the food is. It’s all classic bar food, but tastes so much better. They have all kinds of different burgers, even different meats. Never seen an ox or a yak burger, but they tasted pretty dang good. The service is always great as well. Overall a great atmosphere.

We were told by numerous people throughout the area that this place has really good hamburgers… What a joke, Red Robin and Wendy’s make a better burger and fries combo; just a shame they don’t serve beer too. We’ll never be eating at this place again; one of the worst hamburgers I’ve ever eaten.

When you walk in, you are transported back in time… the interior is old, yet it has retained the itself and kept it’s character… the locale reminds me a lot like Millers in Dearborn… they do all their cooking at the bar, just like the Millers… thankfully they serve their food on baskets :) Their fried pickles were excellent, they use the strips instead of the chips, the fried green beans were ok, could have used little more seasoning… the fried zucchini was decent as well. I had the elk burger, medium with onion rings… the burger was greasy and good! The onion rings were fried perfectly… it went very well with 22oz of beer!!! As for the service, it was it or miss… had to ask for my first beer 2nd time to get it, but thereafter the waitress stopped by and checked-in on us often… maybe it was because of the friends little ones yelling!!!

This is my ‘cheers’. The beer and burgers are great and the owner and servers always treat me right.
