Lil Chef

As both my hubby & I have been way to sick to go out OR even cook at home, we decided to order from Lil’ Chef. Well, one day ended up being 3 days straight as the food was flavorful & tasty. Each of the 3 days, we ordered something different & we’re not disappointed with any of our dinners. From the fish & chips to the hamburger steak dinner to the shrimp stir fry & corned beef & cabbage… everything was delicious. As we got all meals to go, we were surprised that each order was correct + piping hot. The staff was friendly & even though we had forgotten to request the 10% discount, they remembered!
Yes, some people may find this place boring but to us Brighton seniors, it is a perfect place… quiet & no kids running around causing chaos or disturbing diners. Lil’ Chef has been owned & operated by the same family for years & I want to thank them for continuing their commitment to being a family restaurant!

Horrible food. Reminds me of hospital/​nursing home food. Overly priced but decent service. We will not be eating at lil chef ever again waste of our money.

In a nutshell: the food at this diner is poorly prepared and the service is unfriendly. I have been here several times, because we live in Brighton and the prices are very reasonable. The breakfast food is OK, especially the eggs, but the pancakes have an odd, metallic, unpleasant flavor. The lunch food, though, is pretty gross. I got a sandwich that was dripping with grease that made a large pool on my plate. Yuck. However, my husband liked his BLT and their omelets. I won’t be going back.

I stopped here by accident for lunch today and I’m glad I did! They have interesting soups, a large selection of salads, and lots of comfort food options, many with a twist! Today I had a chicken salad wrap that was made with real chicken breast, versus canned. They have a nice looking salad bar. The prices are reasonable for a family diner kind of place. The waitstaff was very friendly and the food was delivered quickly. I will be back!

Good food and reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly. I have had breakfast there several times and have never been disappointed. I would recommend it any time for a good meal and conversation

We waited 4 mins to be seated there was man behind us he waited 2 mins and walked out. We seem the lady eating and she just moved down the table so she couldn’t see us anymore. we will not be going back. This all happen around 2:35pm 10−28−14

We go there all the time. Fast, friendly, & pretty good food. Great little family diner.

I am glad I decided to stop by today. I did read all the other reviews and glad I ignored the negative ones. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food was good.
I was made to feel as special as the regulars who were dining.
So, if you are looking for some good breakfast food or a good sandwich, ignore the negative reviews. Take the leap and make sure to get dessert, they like to go a bit crazy with the whip cream! How can you not be happy when you get extra whip cream!

My husband and I are fairly new to the area and tried Lil Chef for the first time this morning. This visit will also be our last.
We were seated promptly and each given a cup of coffee by the hostess. It took some time for our waitress to greet us and take our orders. After she left, we finished our coffees and were unable to get refills until our breakfast actually arrived which left us nothing to drink for about 15 minutes. Not only had our waitress not come over to check on us, no other staff member was approachable or would even make eye contact with myself or my husband when we tried to get coffee refills.
When our breakfast finally arrived, both plates were barely lukewarm. I had ordered the stuffed french toast and my husband ordered the breakfast meal «B» which came with toast. Aside from it being cold, there was a large hair on the toast that he immediately saw when he picked up a piece to put jelly on it. He sat the toast aside and tried to get the attention of our waitress with no sucess. We also tried getting the attention of other staff members so the toast could be replaced, but no luck with that either.
We ended up finishing breakfast and walked up to the cashier before we ever saw our waitress again. She then scrambled over with our bill. We told her about the hairy toast and she just said «oh, well she can take that off the bill», indicating the young lady at the counter. No apology.
Needless to say, the cashier did not take the toast off our bill and nor did we leave a tip. We will chalk up the $ 15 we spent on this as an experience we will not repeat or bring family and friends to. It’s unfortunate that a family run business such as yours has such terrible customer service.

Absolutely ridiculous service. We were never told about the specials or any deals that they had going on. I got the salad bar and a hamburger. The salad bar consisted of a super soggy wilted salad, a few toppings, some beans and macaroni salad and a few other things. The salad plates were also wet. The burger was pretty bland and tasteless. When the bill came the other people in the party got overcharged for the salad bar. When we asked the server about it she got very rude and condescending. She told them they didn’t order the right way and so were charged $ 7.50 for the salad bar instead of the $ 2.99 to add it to the meal. Nobody ever made us aware of that when we ordered. The water had food particles in it and the silverware was dirty.
I will never be going back to this establishment. I used to go all the time when I was younger, they have obviously changed from their old service and commitment to customer service. It’s too bad because Lil Chef used to be a great place to go.
To top it all off I got food poisoning from either the salad bar or the hamburger.

Eh. Mediocre salad bar. I got the egg salad croissant and it was decent. Service was okay. Nothing really compels me to return.

This is a great place to eat. The food is good, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is always excellent. Very friendly.
