This is my first experience buying a Christmas tree in Boston. Based on other reviews I went to McKay’s as my first stop. What an efficient operation. We were in and out in 15 minutes. No debating about the tree– they were all beautifully symmetric, full and had perfectly straight tree trunks so they would sit in the tree stand without toppling. McKay’s wraps the tree in netting and puts in on top of the car. They chose an appropriate size tree stand and they have wreaths, and greenery as well. A week later, the tree is taking up about 4 quarts of water per day and is getting rave reviews from visitors ! I would highly recommend this business– Staff very helpful and friendly. Also compared to the $ 100+ price tag that I have previously paid — this tree was a bargain at $ 45.

I would give McKay’s a five for customer service. They were fabulous! The staff was friendly and helpful and the whole experience could not have been better. I love that they just popped the tree on the car and tied it down for you with no hassle… Until it was time to take it down. Our tree died in a bout two weeks flat, not from lack of watering, or care. When we went to take it down right after New Years it was a disaster! More branches and pine needles then I have ever seen in my life!(And I have always gotten real trees). It was horrible… With that said, I would still get a tree from McKays but who knows how early they are cut down in advance. I would just examine the trees health a little better before picking one at the lot. Otherwise a good experience.

The only issue I had was with finding the place because the address may be different than what’s listed here, the guy explained they moved across the street from where they used to be, and since that area is a bunch of one-ways and turnoffs it completely changes where your gps tells you to go! Other than that, the guys who worked there were super friendly and helpful. The price for a normal sized REAL wreath with a bow was $ 12 and that was a godsend after coming from Target where they were charging $ 25 dollars for a fake wreath! I’d definitely recommend this place!

I have been coming to McKay’s for almost ten years now because they have the best selection of well-priced Christmas trees. Shipped in from a small farm in Canada, these puffy trees are left open in stands so that you can see their true shape and size. When you are ready to purchase they’ll bind them up and secure them to your car roof. McKay’s also sell wreaths, lights, stands, and decorations so there is no need to drive around to other places.

It’s been a tradition to go to IHOP& then to the McKay Tree Lot to purchase our Christmas tree for many years. The trees are great quality, last a long time & are worth the trip! The staff is friendly & eager to help — they grab your tree for you, chop off some of the bottom, wrap it up & tie it on your tree in no time flat!

The IHOP Christmas Tree place off of Soldiers Field Road is great. I’ve made it a tradion to go there every year since I’ve been in Boston. Last year was the first year they were no longer located right in the IHOP parking lot– they were just behind IHOP across the street on Leo M. Birmingham Pkwy. But it’s still easy enough to get your tree and stop in for some breakfast for dinner afterwards at the IHOP. It’s a real city version of picking out a Christmas Tree, but they make it a pretty magical experience, just the same. You still get to wander through a «forest» of(pre-cut) trees, scoping them out from all angles, picking out your preferred tree type(blue spruce, fraser fur, etc.). And when you find the perfect one, you bring it up to the front and they do all the hard work for you– with a smile on their face and holiday cheer. Their tent full of decorations is great too if you’re in need of a fresh wreath, tree stand, tree skirt, or really any christmas decorations.

I got my Christmas Tree at the IHOP in Brighton. I don’t think these guys selling the trees are associated with IHOP, they probably just rent the space. They’re pretty good. I got a 7′ balsam fir for $ 45. The staff were very helpful. After you pick out a tree they carry it to the front for you, do a fresh chain saw cut, stick it through some plastic netting machine, and then they attach it to your car roof for you. They have wreaths, those plastic tree bags, tree food, all you need to set you home up with the smell of season.
