OMG Optical

Meg is phenomenal! I walked in this morning with two broken sunglasses (each missing screws) & she fixed them on the spot. I also ended up upgrading one pair to polarized lenses which were made same day for me. Excellent service & price.

I can definitely recommend OMG Optical. I first met the owner, Meg, a few years ago when she was working for another optical supplier. She instantly struck me as the only one in the whole store who was doing her job. We struck up a conversation and connected on LinkedIn. I decided to keep an eye on her because I felt she was going places. I was right. About a year later, she opened up OMG Optical. Admittedly, it was another two years before I had a prescription in hand that required a visit to her store. When I showed up, even after three years, she still remembered me. We chit-​chated for a bit while she thoroughly went over my prescription, asked me in depth questions about everything, helped me choose some frames for my new glasses and then placed the orders for the glasses and my contacts. When I picked it all up about a week later, everything was great. She took the time and went over everything in detail. My new glasses have worked like a charm and I will definitely be going back to her. I can’t recommend her enough.

I noticed OMG Optical when it first opened and have since had two interactions with the owner, both of which were very positive! I should also disclose that I have a really hard time finding the right pair of frames/​glasses because, I’ve been told, I have an abnormally small face. That is, normal glasses that look good on everyone look sad and clownish on me. Which means OMG Optical gives hope yet to all small faces of the world. You’re not alone.
The first was when I trying to do outreach for an event that was happening in Brighton, and I just popped into her shop to try to spread the word. She was very nice and receptive, offered to tell her friends about it and even went so far as to give me some discounts that could be applied for some rx eyeglasses in the future.
The second was actually for my eyeglasses! I was on the search for the right pair, having had just gotten my eye exam. and a new pair was overdue. My current frames I still love, but I guess I loved them too much because the paint is chipping off the titanium… Sigh. Anywho! The search took forever, and we went to three different places, including Meg’s (the owner of OMG Optical). I spent a significant amount of time at the first, where we were given no guidance whatsoever, even after requesting help! The second place: also didn’t feel too welcome there, with no frames that stood out, so off to the third. And we decided on OMG Optical.
It was one of the best experiences I have had with eyeglasses! OMG Optical is owned and run by a Brighton Local, which the not-​so-​inner hippie in me really appreciated! There was us and then another client when we came in, and we were mostly browsing at first. Then, as I was trying some on, Meg offered her perspective and expertise all while still working with the other client in between. She was just really attentive, and gave us her complete and honest opinion whenever I asked. There were a couple of pairs that she didn’t hesitate to dismiss as wrong for my face. Then, we came down to two pairs, and I could not make a decision. So I recruited her help then and even put her unsuspecting husband on the spot, and he happily participated. With a room split on the pair, 4 people, 8 eyes evaluating and giving the indecisive me all their advice and feedback, and some photographic analyses with said pairs, I finally decided. The frames are so nice and I am so excited to pick them up!
Overall, Meg’s OMG Optical is a wonderful little optical place with a nice selection of frames, including sunglasses. She is super nice, very helpful, honest, and just makes you feel so welcome. So support Meg’s shop and get your next pair here. You’ll see why! get it?! See?
