Texture 7 Salon

This salon is great! I got a Groupon for highlights, cut, and style. I was a little nervous beforehand because of some negative reviews, but I couldn’t be happier. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, but the inside is clean and beautiful. The salon has a relaxed atmosphere and all the employees seem happy and friendly.
My stylist, Jennifer, was amazing! She listened attentively to my ideas for my hair and creatively suggested modifications that would suit me. The finished result was a haircut that is beautiful and truly suited to my looks. She also spent a little time coaching me on how to style my new ‘do.
Give this salon a chance, you won’t be sorry!

The worst manicure I have ever had. Usually when you have a manicure, your entire hand is treated. After all, the root word in manicure, mani, means hand. And the suffix, cure, means treatment. This was simply a fingertip service– and even that was far below par. She simply sprayed some alcohol on them, filed them, pushed back the cuticles and painted the nails. My hands never soaked in anything to clean them or soften the cuticles. She didn’t even trim the cuticles. She didn’t use a scrub, any lotion, or a massage. I can’t even imagine what she did with the manicure utensils behind the scenes if this is how surface-​level the manicure was– I wonder if the tools are even cleaned or sterilized. And the cost was $ 40– for what?!? Will never set foot in this place again.

When I was new to the area I asked my teenage babysitter for a salon recommendation. She recommended Kim at Texture 7. She had very short, trendy hair, and I had really long, straight hair, but I figured if Kim could do intricate short cuts she could certainly give me a simple trim.
I have been seeing Kim ever since (four years now). She’s very professional and has super long hair herself, so is sensitive to clients who want to keep their hair long or grow it out. I was very happy with keeping my hair straight and long and getting maintenance color to match my natural dark brown.
However, as I started to get more adventurous, Kim encouraged that too, and now I have a short bob with violet highlights. I really love my new hairstyle, and I change it a little bit every time (angling it, experimenting with different bangs, subtle color changes). Kim can do it all.
The salon itself is nice and not intimidating. They have a good selection of hair products and some jewelry and hair accessories too. The staff is friendly and all of the stylists seem to be talented and welcoming. I have even taken my kids to my appointments and they’ve read and played games while I’ve gotten my hair done and the staff was totally fine with that. My daughter (age 5) now sees Kim and keeps her hair down to her waist.
I would definitely recommend Kim and Texture 7!

This was my first time going to this salon and I had a wonderful experience. The stylist listened to what I wanted and did it exactly as I said. She always asked before cutting to make sure it wasn’t too short. They have great customer service and the place was very clean. I also got a student discount which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this salon.
