Yusuf Mosque

Overall a nice masjid and welcoming community. I first came here for one of the salat and the few guys there introduced themselves and asked my name – something you don’t get at the bigger masajid. The building is kinda cool too as they converted a small historic building and it’s a nice comfortable space to pray inside. The women’s space is in the back of the musallah and divided by a low barrier (so they can see the imam?). There are two entrances but the jumu’ah prayer I attended only one was open and both men and women were using it.
The community seems pretty active with dinners, lectures, halaqahs, etc. (check out there website and/​or the mosque bulletin board). They have a weekly «Qur’an circle» for sisters.
The reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is because the khutbah for the only jumu’ah prayer I have attended here was pretty fire-​and-​brimstone. And there was the lovely holiday-​themed «do not mimic the kuffar» message that I am a bit tired of hearing having come from a salafi mosque back home. Khutbahs like these can be exclusive for a lot of people so if this isn’t your thing I’d suggest going to ISBCC for jumu’ah if you can or check out the topic/​khatib for that Friday before you go (this is posted on their website).

This is a mosque for everyone. Be it kids, men, women, students. There are activities at the masjid for every age group

MashAllah this mosque has everything!
But what makes it is the community, the reason this mosque is so alive is because the people who come here are very sincere and help each other out.
Fridays and Saturdays on the daily there are lectures after the evening prayer (see the website for an updated schedule) and usually on Saturdays there is a potluck dinner.
For all you worshippers, there’s normally a qiyyam prayer before Fajr on Saturday morning, led by the great Shaykh Abdel Monem.
