don’t understand the hype about this place at all… really long wait for really overpriced bland-tasting food. eh… if you want a breakfast for your tastebuds & wallet alike, go around the corner to the Sunset Café, now thats a breakfast place!

I’ll start out by saying the food is definitely 4 – 5 stars. The chef and cooks know what they are doing, except for the toast, cut that a little bit thinner, it doesn’t crunch up as nice and is way too much bread as a side to a meal. I digress. Again, all the foods are very tasty. From the buttersquash hash, to the bacon brown sugar pancakes, everything is fresh and tasty. Where this place falls short, of course just in my opinion, is in their management and service. I have been coming here for a few years now, and still DONOT understand why they have not instituted table service. This makes the restaurant seem absolutely disorganized, which it turns out, it is. Admittedly, I do not frequent this place for that exact reason, every time you go in it’s a little awkward. Example. We were given a dish we did not order, didn’t realize this till after we started eating it(we ordered about 8 different dishes for 4 people so the table was full). A person whom I believe was the manager, came up and said you didn’t order this, we told her we ordered so much stuff that we thought it was ours cause it was brought out. She legitimately looked at us in disgust and sighed like we did something so wrong, even though her staff were the ones to bring it to our table. Then later when we were trying to box up some food, she just stood there and didn’t even speak to one of our party even though she was looking at her. I will go back on occasion cause the food is enjoyable and the views upstairs are great, but please for the love of customer service, I hope the owners start training their staff more and offer table service in the future, which I believe would relieve the congestion on the 1st floor when it’s a mad house.

Very cute place, but didn’t enjoy carrying full to the rim cappachino up a flight of narrow stairs, navigating around people trying to leave. Also super busy so expect to fight for your place in line.

The service was stellar and the food was amazing. We had the chicken sandwich and the pesto chicken. Yum! Good hangout place for a wonderful meal after biking 14 miles on the East Bay bike path

I cannot say enough great things about the atmosphere, staff, location and homemade food at this place. I’ve been a few times now and have not been disappointed. Its me and my wife’s go to breakfast spot for a beautiful, quiet and tasteful food experience. The french toast is so light and fluffy and full of great taste!

Such a creative menu and nice outdoor seating. My Pesto chicken over Sautéd butternut squash was delicious.

My fiancé and I went to the Beehive Café two weeks ago after walking around Colt State Park. We easily found street parking even though beautiful Bristol was busy. I really like that they clearly mark which items on the menu are vegetarian; I always trust restaurants more when they do that, and that way I can avoid asking some poor server 39 questions. Their baked goods looked delicious, and I think I recall seeing gluten free options on their menu. You place your order downstairs, receive your toy animal to put on your table, and then try your best to find a table. There is a bit of outside seating, and there definitely wasn’t enough indoor seating. This place would not be a good choice if someone in your party has a mobility impairment as the majority of seating is upstairs. He ordered the smoked salmon platter. The platter was a bit short on salmon but had plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, capers, onions, etc. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast sandwich with arugula that I really enjoyed. The breakfast potatoes were a bit burned and bland, but it didn’t matter because I loved the sandwich with the pretzel bun so much. Next time, I’ll get a side of fruit. I also ordered a cup of minestrone soup. It was decent, but not what I was expecting. It was nearly 50% chickpeas. After eating the sandwich I was full so I took the soup home and ended up throwing it away. The staff were all very lovely and I will definitely go back for the breakfast sandwich the next time I’m in Bristol!

Visiting a friend who was visiting from out of country, pulled up Unilocal and planned an adventure. Food/Beverages: I went with the Salmon BLT with a side of their fried chickpeas. I thought the sandwich and the chick peas were mediocre. The bread was too thick or the salmon too sparse you pick, just not properly balanced to my liking. I’ve never had fried chick peas but I enjoy them in most dishes they’re part of so I figured would give it a shot. They just didn’t have alot of flavor to them, if it were me I would have jazzed them up with some heat. Our friend had the maple bacon pancakes which were as expected quite tasty. My lady got the rosemary biscuits with eggs and hollandaise which was also quite nice, very well executed biscuits. The best thing we had to eat was the lemon ricotta pancake, I can’t think of a way to improve on this. I really wish we would have ordered more than just one, but I did appreciate the fact that you could order 1 – 3 pancakes to try them out. I also ordered a caramel latte and their coffee which were both satisfactory but not memorable. Ambiance/Service: This was probably a house at one point that got converted and is nestled between some other shops with a view of the water. Most of the seating is upstairs at small 2 – 4 seater tables with a couple of tables on the patio and more seating outside at ground level. You wait in line to order and the food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering, not too bad considering they were starting to get busy from the lunch crowd. Bottom Line: This was a solid 3 star place, definitely worth checking out especially if the weather is nice and you can snag a table on the balcony.

Went for lunch today. I tried their pancakes. Quite delicious. Perfect thickness. Served with powdered sugar, real butter, and maple syrup. I also got a side a fruit. The fruit was fresh and plentiful. Seating was a bit tricky. They were pretty busy during lunch. Customers are to seat themselves upstairs. There were people waiting for tables when we arrived. There were a few tables with customers who were in no hurry to leave. Luckily, we were able to get a seat right before our food was ready, but it was a bit dicey for a minute. Definitely worth a try! Next time I’m going to try the grilled cheese. I got a glimpse and it looks amazing! The bread is so thick and fluffy. The cheese oozes out the sides. The bread looks perfectly toasted.

came here on the recommendation of our airbnb host and was not disappointed! the place is super cute and the space clearly used to be a house. Got to try the salmon plate, got a mimosa, and got one of their pastries but I forget which. the food was unexpectedly good, but I wasn’t a fan of the way the place was laid out. It was busy and all the tables on the second floor were full, so we shared a large table on the first floor with some others and felt like I was crowding them. I hate ordering at the counter(as opposed to table service) eating places with nowhere to sit after getting your food. These two things stress me out to no end so I can’t see myself coming back here if I’m in the area. Nothing wrong with the place, but just a warning to anyone with the same anxieties. However, the food is pretty decent and reasonably priced.

This little place is so brilliant if you catch it on a busy day, be prepared for little room until you either grab your coffee, or, sit down, but absolutely everything is wonderful! The staff are great, the coffees and food are wonderful order the caramel latte!

Beehive Café is really quite incredible. I went the other day with two friends who have been going there for a while now. We parked down the road and it took about a minute to walk over. Walking in, it’s quite small! There’s a table and a few seats downstairs along with the menu, pastry selection and cashier where you order your food. We sat upstairs, and it was a decent amount of seating, some seats even being outside! Unfortunately we couldn’t sit outside as it had just rained a few days ago and it was still wet and chilly. We sat in the far corner– there were four of us. I ordered the Banana Bread French Toast along with a side of Fried Chickpeas. Delicious. Everyone at my table had a bite of my french toast and everyone was pleased. It was grilled on the sides so it was a bit crispy, but soft in the middle and so tasty. There were coconut flakes and some other kind of flakes on top of it, and I’m usually not a fan of coconut but it really added to the soft texture of the banana bread. It also came with syrup and honey butter, both great additions! The chickpeas were also great, and I was pleased to see it was quite a large amount that came in the order. I couldn’t finish it, but they were great. Cooked well done and flavored, but not overwhelming at all. It’s a side I’ve never seen before, and I’m really glad I had it! The water is serve yourself, and you empty your dishes and place them into a tray when you’re done. Simple enough. I really wish I got pastries or a smoothie, at least, but by the time we were leaving I was stuffed! If only I were closer, I would go back in a heartbeat. Really. The vibes in the café were great– there were women playing Uno next to us! The service was quick and I left satisfied. Highly recommend!

What an excellent spot for brunch! On vacation, we were checking out the Bike path and had worked up an appetite biking from Barrington. We stopped for brunch at Beehive.(The location right off the the bike path is perfect!) The baked goods case alone is cause for celebration: gluten free treats, healthy bars and muffins and sweet pastries. Plus packaged granola to take home.(It’s delicious!) My aunt and I shared sweet and savory plates so that we got to try a bit of everything. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sweet and fluffy, with the 100% maple syrup on the side that I have learned not to take for granted! We also had the butternut squash hash with two eggs and toast. This was just delicious: a unique and seasonally fun dish! Our coffees were also excellent and they had soy milk. Logistics: You order downstairs and the food is brought to your table. I definitely would visit here again on my next trip to the area!

Finally tried the much raved about Beehive Café and I have to say, I was not let down. While the price you pay for a meal may be a little steep, the food is absolutely delicious and worth it… Oh, and did mention healthy! I had the pleasure of trying the Black Bean burger. It came stacked with avocado, leafy greens, Vermont cheddar cheese on a homemade potato bun. The side choices are fried chickpeas or green salad I went with the green salad. The seating is fantastic. There is an outdoor area near the front of the door. There is a picnic like table both a wrap around bench seat inside where you order your meals. There is also a second flood which holds about another 9 or 10 tables. Then… There is a sliding door which leads to a roof top patio that has some seating! All and all, it was a very satisfying meal for $ 13.00. I will be a frequent patron at this hidden little gem.

I forgot about this place. Going to school right down the street sometimes I wander into town and hangout at the Beehive. Most recently I ordered their Chai Express and one of their homemade granola bars. I am sad that I don’t frequent this place more! The granola bar was delicious and the Chai Express was very well made as well. The Beehive is such a cute, cozy place that offers great good with a variety of local and organic options. It has a quirky vibe that I totally get down with(animal place holders). The spot is great — right overlooking the water. It is a great place to grab a coffee, read for a bit or go to brunch with friends or meet someone for a lunch date.

Beehive is now officially one of my favorite spots in RI. It is truly like no place that I have ever been to in RI before. Walking into the Beehive, it almost feels like you are in the White Mountains. It is rustic, small town feel, with lots of positive energy, lively, and just warming. It is laid back, relaxing, and soothing. It kind of makes you forget about everything that you were thinking of when you went in, and everything that you have to do afterwards. It has a view of the ocean, but is not on the main street so is a little quiet. The charm and character of the beehive, makes me want to get to know more. The local food and baked goods and the small selection of pantry items to buy truly sets it apart from most other places. It is unique food, fresh, local, and delicious. Everything on the menu, and at the storefront, just sounds breathtaking. I went with the french toast and chocolate milk. We sat upstairs, outside on this cute little deck that holds about 6 people. It overlooks the water, and is small and quiet enough you feel like you are on your backporch. The french toast was unreal. It was thick, moist, with so much flavor. The chocolate milk was also one of the best I ever had. While coming for breakfast, they also have lunch, and dinner(and alcohol!) Even though I am allergic to Bees… the Beehive is going to be my new special favorite spot!

This is a hard place to write a review for, because they have so much to offer. Since, I moved to Bristol I have eaten there about 6 times and had take out a handful. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also offer a great deal of homemade baked goods, including some incredible bread. You can call to order and pick it up. The ambiance is casual and can even be romantic if you get the right night. I think this is a great date night(but they only offer dinner Thurs, Fri, and Sat). Breakfast: Is the best, you can’t go wrong. In the summer it is the nicest thing to have breakfast at their outdoor seating. Also, they have fresh squeeze OJ, which has a special place in my heart. Lunch: I am a big fan of their sandwiches they use fresh and local ingredients. My personal favorite is the the Butternut squash sandwich. And anything with the flax bread is worth a taste. The side salad and the chickpeas are great sides. Dinner: Just recently I went to dinner. I personally like ordering from their specials, because you can get most of their normal menu for lunch. The specials are only served at dinner. Everything b-hive makes is creative and this makes their specials worth the try. What I adored this time was the fish chowder; now, this was real chowder. In my world there is chowder(which is think and creamy) and soup(everything else). The chowder was creamy and was quite unique, it had a little heat and a nice addition of cilantro, which was interesting. The beer selection, though all from can or bottle, is really good, unique and even difficult beers to find. The only issue I had all evening was that the servers coming up the stairs were a little loud and same with clearing dishes. Overall, I think this restaurant could be one of Rhode Island’s best restaurants and it comes down to the fact that they put so much care in everything they do. That is why this place received five stars.
