Burger Bar

A nice vintage atmosphere and very clean. The staff was friendly although the waitress could have been a little more attentive. Food was good and was quickly prepared, but I did think it was a little pricey for what we got. Will probably go back if in the area and in a burger mood.

Amazing the burgers are fantastic, milkshakes the best I ever had. The customer service was great.

We found this place, last year, on our Memorial Day trip to VA, and we decided to make it part of our annual tradition. The parmesan fries are still awesome, and the family loved the burgers and shakes. Such a neat little place. I tried the bread from the Mormon burger on whatever it was that I ordered, and I really liked it. Whatever the description, it was loaded in butter much like a grilled cheese sandwich, although I did not have the burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches, this time (I did, last year, though!). I thought I would mix things up.

This place is great! Best burger ever! I had the Oh My Cheese! And Oh My Gosh it was great!

I prob would not have stopped in here but I checked Unilocal reviews. It looks like a hole in the wall (and it is) but the food and service were great! I actually had one of the most delish salads I’ve ever had here and the parm fries and sweet potato fries were simply yummo! This is my new favorite! Was not super expensive either which I love!

I loved this place! Delicious burger and loved the Parmesan fries. Hubby got the sweet potato fries and they were awesome too! Definitely on my favorites list and will be making this stop a habit!!!

These are some really good burgers. Nice friendly staff with speedy service. The only reason it isn’t a five star review is because they aren’t the best burgers I’ve ever had. I love burgers and fries and here they do a really good job. I was in town for three days and ate here two out of the three days for dinner. I don’t have any complaints but if I could do 4.5 stars that is what it would be.

This place is a throwback to… well a while ago and way before I moved to this area. It is right downtown in Bristol and has the best burgers in the area. Went for lunch and had a real malt and the «Oh My Cheese» burger. It’s a hamburger with grilled cheese sandwiches as the bun. The Parmesan fries were a nice touch. This is a great place to bring people visiting the area or someone who hasn’t been in a diner environment in a while but don’t expect high end tables and chairs. It’s very casual.

We come from across town to come here, you can not get a better burger, every one their is very friendly

Had a cheeseburger and fries at the Burger Bar last week. First time I have visited since the new owners took over. They have increased the size of the dining area but still have the same basic menu. The burger was acceptable and better than most chain fast food and the fries were hot and crispy and service was good. Price was good for down town. h

If you are visiting Bristol, you must eat here. The burgers are definitely some of the best around. The prices are excellent. You can get a combo for less than $ 9.00. It can’t be beat. Atmosphere is ok, a take you back in time kind of place. Don’t miss it.

Adorable little local spot with amazing burgers shakes etc! Über courteous staff and we had a big crew for the intimate eatery! Plus you’ll see all the local folks. Wear stretchy pants, for real!

Cool place and good burgers! I also tried a hotdog, which was alright but the bun was cold and chili so so. Staff was great and would drop by again next time in town.

Juicy 6 napkin burgers and crispy fries!!! Really enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the cooks fry up burgers on the flat top grill. I look forward to coming back to try more.

This Little Burger joint in the heart of Downtown Bristol is famously known as the last place that Hank Williams was seen alive, Opened in 1942 it has been a staple of downtown bristol for a little over 70 years now.
This Burger joint does not disappoint, I tried the move along burger with parmesan fries. The burger was really good juicy and met my expectations for what a place that specializes in burgers should have.
I also had the parmesan fries which were pretty interesting and very good, the portion sizes were great and the meal filled me up.
The place is small and the walls are covered in historical bristol papers and such, the tables were clean but the paint was pealing.
My issue is with this place is that I have been trying to visit this place for several months, and each time I’ve tried they’ve been closed, even when their hours say they are supposed to be open, the hours that they have listed here on Unilocal are incorrect, so Call ahead if your planning to come out of your way for this burger joint, because they don’t keep good hours.

Could use some updating, nearly froze sitting by the window. Restrooms are singles.

First of all, this place looks great. We sat at the bar and we were served quickly. The burgers were outstanding while the sweet potato fries were good. My onion rings were frozen and disappointing. The peanut butter milkshake was very good, very thick and «peanut buttery».
Good atmosphere. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.
