This was a great event! Thanks so much for making it happen. I met great people and had so much fun. The tour was nice… I had been to Lake Compounce for many years and had never known the history behind it. It was also a pleasure to meet Ernie, the creator of the Haunted Graveyard. It was fun to go through the Haunted Graveyard with other Unilocalers… it was like experiencing it with a big group of friends. I hope we can do this again next year.

Wow, what a unique trip — another great event and an awesome way to end CT Classics! About 50 Unilocalers got a private tour by Sara, where we learned about the amusement park, which is the oldest continuously-operating amusement park in the US. We learned about some new attractions coming to the park as well as some special features of this park in particular, like the Starlight Theater(oldest building), Pink’s hot dogs, the expensive«lead» horse in the carousel, and a new metal rollercoaster for 2016. After an hour on our own — delighting in dippin’ dots, fried dough, and sweet potato fries — the group met up again for the Haunted Graveyard. We had a wonderful introduction by the designer himself, where we learned about what drives him year after year. In group of 12, we went through the 45-minute maze haunted experience. To be fair, I get scared easily, but there were some really amazing parts of the graveyard. One moment, I’d think, «Wow, that’s amazingly detailed and actually really pretty» to «OMG, what’d I get myself into?» With over 200 actors, the graveyard managed to make me *yelp* many, many times in a mixture of fear and delight. This haunted graveyard is amazingly well done and definitely worth checking out.(I have to say, though, I can’t imagine a kid going through this — but that’s because I am a scared-y-cat.)
