My wife and in laws figured we go here after our nice night at the holiday lights at lake compounce. So we come in the door and we get seated very quickly. It was busy there but not crazy busy. The décor is old fashioned and needs an uplift but hats neither here nor there. So the waitress was a little flustered and she wasn’t one to hide her emotions, I figured since it was busy that’s normal. She took our order and gave us our water right away but we did not receive our food until one hour and a half later! This was unacceptable especially when we had a hungry 2 year old. I asked if we could just get our daughters pancakes at least but she gave me the answer of «it’ll come as its being made in order.» I was a little taken aback by that answer and I honestly wanted to leave the premises, my wife stopped me from doing it. After we finally received our food it wasn’t half bad, but I’m not sure if it’s because we were starving that anything would’ve tasted good at that time. Any ways long story short food was eh service was terrible and waitress was too flustered to come and check on us periodically. I wouldn’t come to this place again. Heed the warning guys and girls!

This place is a major disaster first and foremost. My family and I had stopped after an enjoyable day at Lake Compounce. Upon arriving we were told there was a wait for a table even though there was hardly anyone in there. We were seated and a half witted waitress said she would be back in a few moments to take our drink orders.25 mins later she appeared and finally took the order. she returned Ina few mins and starting passing out the wrong drinks to the wrong people in the party. instead of saying what it was and letting us say if it was ours or not. Then the dim wit says I’ll be back in a few to take your order.20 mins later she shows back up but by this time a few other large parties had arrived. she took our order along with every other table who had just been seated. 3 waitresses with one buffoon taking all the orders? Why have 3 waitresses. right? Anyways When The food finally started coming out it was one plate at a time with an average of five mins between the next plates to come out. The food was horrible and lacking taste. 3 of the orders being completely missed and not put in so we had to flag down the waitress yet again to ask about the missing dishes. she assured us that It was coming very soon, well 20mins later the plates arrived all being completely messed up. The club had very little meat the spaghetti was overcooked and smelled bad and the easiest of all was a grilled cheese. the worst one I had ever seen. It was 2 dried pieces of cheese layed in between toast. yes toast that never touched a grill but more like toast thrown in a microwave with dry cheese and set ablaze. We asked for another one, well they took it back put another piece of cheese on it. the same dry toast. again was tossed in a microwave. We flagged down dum dum to complain. She looked at us a just walked away. RUDE!!! The owner/chef has very little personal skills along with very basic cooking skills. All he did was argue with the waitress and insist the food was fine. no way. We tried to get the sandwich taken off bill but were denied. So to sum it all up. One of the pictures for this place says it all — their roadside sign shows«Luiza’s Diner Family Restaurant Open 24 Hours» and then has their hours scroll by on an LED board, which are definitely NOT24 hours. I haven’t been in a couple years, but I remember the food being pretty bad. The last few times I’ve been in there, it looked increasingly depressing and empty inside. Couple that with it being the restaurant that replaced Friendly’s(which I LOVED as a child for whatever reason), and this place is one to avoid.

We stop once a month for breakfast at this diner. The wait staff has always been friendly and prompt, topping off your coffee, checking on your needs. This Sat(8÷22÷15) we sat(after being seated by a waitress) for 25 minutes and no one gave us a menu or acknowledged us. We saw tables seated after us being served their food. Still no one acknowledged us even as we tried to flag staf down. We noted our booth table was very sticky despite being set up for one place serving. The silverware was also wrapped in a napkin but had dried up food on the fork and knife. We got up and left and no acknowledged us again. We went down the street ¼ mile to a competitors restaurant and despite being packed with customers were served coffee within minutes of sitting down. We’re sorry but if this is the new wait staff at our old favorite restaurant we will not be going there after one more attempt.

We went to Luiza’s Diner for lunch on week day. Food was OK, classic diner experience. The place where we seated was not clean; we had hard time to read the menus because the pages were all stuck together. Very gross. The waitress was nice and very fast on taking order and delivering them.

We left after waiting one hour for pancakes! Then it took them 14 minutes to ring up two coffees and a juice so we could get out of there! The bathrooms had no toilet paper Just don’t go there

I made the mistake of visiting this diner on fathers day. Our group of 6 got seated quickly, despite the fact that it was fairly busy. We waited for a waitress to bring menus or coffee. I did finally flag down a waitress: she took our family’s food and drink orders. Almost 30 minutes went by before our coffee came. Our waitress came to console us after another half hour and told us our breakfasts would come out soon. After another 45 minutes our food appeared. We had arrived about 1145 am, and did not get out of there until 220 pm The food was not worth the wait; and it completely messed up our holiday.

Stopped here with my family for a little breakfast. I have to say I am blown away! For the first ever I finished the whole omelette. I had a veggie omelette, the vegetables taste like they came right out of the farm. My home fries where not over cooked and seasoned to protection. Waitress was friendly and the price was low.

Usually have had a good experience, but not today. The waitress never put our order in, needless to say we waited 40 mins. for breakfast!!! When it came time for the check(we had 3 separate parties) it was a total mix up. One party was compensated for the inconvenience, didn’t seem fair, but after being there over 1 ½ hours didn’t want to fight it. Needless to say we didn’t leave a tip and won’t be going back. Also, the ventilation is horrible. Out clothes reeked of grease when we left.

Went to this diner today for the first time and it was by far the worst experience I have had in a very long time. Service was horrible, we were asked to wait to be seated but after waiting for 10 minutes without anyone helping us we sat ourselves. When we were ordering we asked if the cornbread hash was home made and the waitress told us it was. We waited a good 40 minutes for our food to come out and when it arrived at the table the corn beef hash was obviously not home made but rather from a can. When we asked the waitress again she told us «I’ve been here for 7 years and that’s what they told me so that’s what I say, but I’ve never eaten it». Then there was hair in the pancakes. The food was not good at all and the sides cost more then the meals. Overall just a horrible experience and I would never go back or tell anyone to go there for any meal.

This was seriously the worst place I have ever been. The place was pretty much empty but the waitress was overwhelmed by our party of 8. To the point where she was sweating excessively and wiping it all over her yoga pants and apron. I was also suspect about whether she washed her hands. Since it was my in laws idea to eat here I sat quiet and ordered the meatloaf. If it were just my husband and I we would have left just because of the sweating. The waitress was unable to remember the drink order and even when told who had what she couldn’t even pass it out correctly. The icing on the cake was a bug in the corn which I noticed(thankfully) before taking a bite. Needless to say I didn’t eat it and asked for it to be taken off the bill. The only good thing is they didn’t argue. Everyone got something different and it was all bad. Stay away from here!!!

Food not great. Five waitresses there, empty restaurant and service was do slow. Not very kid friendly. Only good thing I can say about our experience was that our waitress was nice. I would recommend to skip this place!

Ok. This might actually be the worst dining experience that I have ever had. We have came here in the past for a late dinner after visiting lake compounded theme park and it was decent enough food, and cheap prices after being nickle and dimed all day next door at the park. This time we had a very different experience that we will surly not forget. There were 7 people in our party including one child. We were immediately seated. Our waitress gave us a few minutes then began to take our order. It was a simple order. One bowl of chicken noodle soup, three calzones, an omelette with toast and home fees and a BLT club. The waitress was either new to being a waitress or just really bad at knowing her menu as she had to refer back to the menu after each order. The BLT(bacon, lettuce, tomato) was not offered on the menu but we asked that they make a regular BLT but in the style of a turkey club we asked that the turkey be substituted for bacon. This came with fries. The waitress asked if we would prefer waffle fries or regular. My fiancé asked if there was an additional charge for waffle and the waitress said no so she opted for waffle. This completed our order. Approximately 50 minutes later and after asking the waitress where our order was and folks that came in after us getting there food already it finally started coming out. It started with the soup. It was a disaster. It was spilled all over the top of the bowl and the bowl was very sloppy. Then the rest of the order came out. We had no issues with the calzones or omelette. It was the club sandwich that we had an issue with. There was hardly any meat on the sandwich. It was supposed to have essentially double bacon because it was being substituted for turkey. We asked the waitress that if it wouldn’t contain the extra meat then there should be a price adjustment and she checked with the owner/cook. She came back and let us know that he said all clubs are priced the same regardless of the meat. When we got our check after we finished our meal we noticed that we were not only charged the full price for the sandwich that was not made correctly but also we were charged an additional fee for the waffle fries. We decided to pay in cash and just subtract the amount of the club sandwich being that it was not what we asked for and not fixed once we complained. We also subtracted the amount for the waffle fry fee. We left a tip for the waitress and walked up to the counter. The owner/chef began to argue with us about the bill. We explained our reasoning for not wanting to pay for the item but he ultimately said that we will pay it or he will call the police. We said that we would not pay so he called 911. At this time we decided that this is absolutely absurd to have police come out over 8 dollars and we offered to just pay the whole amount on a credit card.(We would put stop payment on the charge) he declined to allow us to pay for our meal and told us to deal with the police. The police showed up minutes later and questioned us and him. He decided to make up many lies but the police ultimately sided with us. The police told him to allow us to pay by credit which we will be obviously stopping the charge. In conclusion. Do not eat at this establishment. Horrible service, mediocre food and an owner/chef that is not only untalented but also a very rude individual. We are reporting home to the better business bureau due to the incident tonight. We would like to apologize to the Bristol police or having their time wasted by this moron. So if your hungry after hitting the roller coasters, find somewhere else to eat because this place is a total dump.

Luiza’s is a no frills diner that is great for a quick, cheap breakfast. The service is really fast so even during peak times you are seated quickly and you won’t wait long for your food. They also have a decent carry out menu that includes non-breakfast items. The Philly Cheesesteak grinder is excellent!

Absolutely my favorite diner, and my first suggestion as to where to go when dining out. Their food and prices just can’t be beat. There are too many good things on the menu to list. My favorites include their breakfast(available all day) and their«Early Bird» dinner specials(always changing, which is nice). Oh, and they have excellent pies. I’m not normally a big«pie guy,» but their pie is something special.

I’ve been coming to Luiza’s for over 13 years now, since back when they were still a 24 hour establishment. This hasn’t been the case for some years now, even though they have tried adopting those hours at least for the weekends a few times in the past few years. Truthfully it’s a hard spot to survive in the off months that Lake Compounce is not open, and most ESPN employees no longer go since they’ve expanded their campus and added a much more upscale cafeteria for their staff. Honestly, I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food is your typical diner fare, and the staff always remembers a familiar face. The pies are exquisite, and are worth picking up for holidays and special occasions. The burgers are always solid, as well as the chicken sandwiches, and the Greek gyro is probably the most authentic you’ll find in the surrounding area.

A late night cheeseburger craving inspired my first attempt to visit Luiza’s. Having driven by many times, the huge«Open 24 Hours» sign must have stuck in my brain. However, upon arriving, sometime after midnight on a Saturday night, we discovered that they were closed. We left confused and hungry, and went elsewhere. Driving by several weeks later, I happened to notice on the marquee that the real hours are 6am to 11pm. Perhaps they should consider replacing the sign? It’s slightly misleading. The hours are only displayed on the marquee every 1 – 2 minutes, and it is turned off when the restaurant is closed. We did finally eat lunch at Luiza’s. The dining room has a strange amber glow, like the lights aren’t turned on all the way. With all the dark wood, it was not the most welcoming atmosphere. I felt like we were living in an aged 70’s photograph. Service was average, and overall the food was average. I had the worst roast beef sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The meat tasted old, the cheese was rubbery and tasteless, and the roll was stale. Even the lettuce had an off flavor. My date enjoyed his burger, but commented that the pickle tasted funny. The prices were reasonable.

Came in here after Lake Compounce with the family. Service was excellent, food was really good. Fried Chicken had something sweet in the battle like maple syrup or honey, couldnt quite make it out. Everything is cooked fresh and home-made. I picked a bay leaf out of my soup(thats a good sign). Portion sizes are HUGE, be forewarned that any dinner is probably enough for 2 people. Was really good and close to the theme park, i’ll be back due to the fact that I have season passes!
