The food was overpriced for being mediocre. It was our first time there and the waitress completely ignored us except for when we ordered food. She spent the whole time talking to the regulars and didn’t even have time to say goodbye, because she spent so much time talking about her personal life when we just wanted a good personality.

Thought it looked like a fun place for quick diner breakfast. Heck, the sign out front showed $ 1.99 for 2 eggs, home fries and toast. Well, after ordering the 2 egg special, waiting 30 minutes for our breakfast cuz others who sat after us were served first, and receiving the bill for full priced meals do they say it was only effective Monday through Friday. Ummm… take the damn sign down OR maybe say so when it’s ordered. Just sayin!

Love this diner right out of the 50’s. Relaxing atmosphere. Great for breakfast! Reasonable prices. No rush. Friendly service.

We came here after an early gymnastics competition because we were hungry. Of course I used the Unilocal app to find a good diner in the area. The diner is a traditional, old fashioned, «trailer» styled diner. My wife and I loved it for it’s nostalgia. It had the mini juke boxes at the tables. I don’t know if they worked or not. Anyway, we ordered breakfast. Simple and basic, eggs home fries and toast and pancakes for the kids. The plate of pancakes had a hair on it and when we pointed it out to the waitress, she rolled her eyes and took it back. Because of the position of the table we had I could see back in the kitchen and when the cook asked why he is redoing it, he also rolled his eyes. Any ways, in summary, the food was good, the price was fair, but the attitude of the staff needs improvement.

We went here 2 weeks ago. The service was a little slow but they were busy. Understandable. We placed our order, food came out ample time, was decent… I got cheese omelet and fiancé got scrambled eggs with cheese. Nothing like having a fork full of food ready to go into your mouth and then you spot it. A nice piece of hair. I made sure it wasn’t cheese by pulling on it. I called waitress over and told her the problem, she proceeds to argue with me that it’s cheese, I did the pull test again, then she says well nobody in back has that color hair. I don’t think I should have to do a line up to match the hair, we used to go here maybe once a month now we will never go back. She comes back with check and with attitude says we took the item off the bill. Have a good day and walks away.

The biscuits and gravy next to mine are probably some of the best I’ve had at a diner. I really don’t want to have to re mortgage my house to eat there. The $ 11.00 it cost me for 2 biscuits some gravy and a coffee was way too expensive. i probably won’t go back.

What a great place for breakfast or lunch, brings back memories of the old time lunch counters and even has the jukebox in the booths to add to the ambiance. Food was great, absolutely love getting grilled kielbasa with an Omlette. Service was also impeccable and freindly! Reccomend to all.

Used to go here with my grandpa for lunch on the weekend and we enjoyed it but I’m not sure if they changed ownership or something because my girlfriend and I visited recently and the prices went up a lot. The food was decent but not worth the price hikes. We may come back and give it another shot to be fair.

I have been here twice now in the last month and both times my meal was DELICIOUS. The food has been wonderful and the staff is friendly and attentive! It’s quite busy so I did have to wait for a table for a few minutes the last time I went, but it was worth the wait! I highly recommend this place for either breakfast or lunch!

My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We both ordered hot dogs with chili(one with a few onions-which they charged 1.00 for) and our bill came to $ 14.20. Unbelievable, will never go back or recommend.

Good small diner in the heart of Plainville, really can’t go wrong. Delicious omelettes, great breakfast. I have only ordered breakfast there and really see no reason to get anything else. Park on the street, way easier & be prepared to wait, especially on a Saturday morning.

Great Diner experience. Service is great, Pam the waitress certainly brings her personality to work every day. Food is very good but overpriced, but the old time atmosphere makes up for it. Going back fosho.

Waaaay over priced! I get the same every time i go out for breakfast and its $ 10 more than any other place. Bacon Is paper thin, and food is bland. My wife and i stopped going here. I do not recommend the food at the place. But the service is pretty good.

This was our first visit to Main St. Diner and we can’t wait to go back! There were seats at the counter and we were greeted right away by their friendly staff. We were promptly served our drinks as we took a quick look at the menu. Our orders were in front of us in ten minutes. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and my boyfriend’s Hillbilly omelette was chock full of deliciousness. Good price for great food, service and atmosphere!

Agree with John F. Outrageous price for a poor breakfast. Uninspired omelet. Bacon tasted like it was cooked yesterday. Waitress apologized for high prices. This is my second and last experience here.

This place is of the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives variety. It’s an old school diner like a rail car, smack in the middle of Plainville. We usually go for breakfast, which is always my goto place if I go out for the most important meal if the day. Today, we snuck in around closing time, but the waitress kept it open for us to get a bite before the snow storm. I had a tasty Pastrami sandwich with fries. I rarely give 5 stars, but all things being equal, this place deserves it for what it is. It’s the type of place that has regulars who sit in the same seats every day. The breakfast food is slightly more expensive than a normal breakfast joint, but compensates by huge portions. If you are within a town’s distance of this place, it’s worth the trip.

A classic, totally redone diner smack dab in the middle of Plainville, Main St. does not disappoint. Great breakfast menu with a huge selection of omelettes and a handful of specials each day. Plenty of local flavor and home cooked goodness to engender repeat trips. Only open for breakfast and lunch, so come early.

Came here with some friends after a VERY long night and about 2 hours of sleep. Loved the outside! So hard to find a TRUE diner… well at least in the SW. We seem to be pretty flush with them out here on the East. Anyway, service was fast and friendly. Had the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette(minus green peppers. add in jalapenos) and it was exactly what I needed to put me in a food coma and it was tasty to boot. My favorite breakfast experience is still O’Rourke’s but this is definitely second choice!

The Bomb. Addendum: I wrote«the bomb» simply because I’ve never had a bad experience here. I wanted to elaborate! I go to this little place on the weekends sometimes and it has such an «old school» feel to it! Also, once, when my boyfriend was ordering some food with a ton of sides, the waitress said«Why dont you just get this one?»(it included all of what he wanted, for a cheaper price). Most places would just let you ramble on and add on the surcharges for«extra» stuff. But she was honest and pointed out a better deal. My kind of place. The specials are always good. And there are plenty!
