Horrible! I ordered a piña colada it tasted like chemical, no Malibu at all! Returned it got another which had Malibu however tasted even more like chemicals! Server was washing floor with strong chemicals while we ate. the piña colada tasted just like the smell of the floor cleaner! Food was ok little overlooked. I will not be returning there I don’t know if they wash the dishes and floor with same soap bit that was the impression I left with!

My husband and I love it here. The owner Diane, makes you truly feel like your family. We always get the same food… Chicken Milanese sandwich and the pot roast sandwich with homemade chips, and we are never disappointed. We always sit in the bar area, and the service is spot on, very attentive and kind.

I really like this place a lot. Bristol does not have many options to choose from for bars. The owner Diane is extremely friendly. My boyfriend and I normally come here on Saturday nights for date night as they have a live band each week. The bands are always very good. Great music! Everyone is always on the dance floor having a really good time. The drinks are amazing. I really like the selection of martinis they have. I think the prices are very reasonable too. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. Great crowd. Never any problems. The down sides– You need to come early on a Saturday if you want to be able to find a place to sit. I normally get there around 9 and the place is packed with no seat in sight. Which is fine if you don’t mind standing or want to dance all night but my legs get tired and feet start to hurt. Also I’ve only had the food once and it wasn’t very good at all. I just ordered a few appetizers and wasn’t impressed at all. I wouldn’t go back for the food. But it’s definitely a great place to go on a Friday or Saturday night for some drinks and music!

I want to say I’ve just gotten unlucky both times that I’ve gone to Marilyn’s; each time I’ve eaten dinner there, there has been a loud corporate party going on. There’s a good chance those large parties affected the quality of food and service we received. Both times, plates at our table had errors with items either missing or not how they were described in the menu. And not to the fault of the restaurant, but the loud party of about 40 or 50 people right next to us(which included a DJ and a guy talking on a microphone) did not create the best atmosphere to eat in. I can forgive a place for having to deal with large parties, but I really can’t see myself going back to Marilyn’s again since the food we got wasn’t anything special either time out. (Side note — I feel like their full name, Marilyn’s Pub Restaurant & Lounge is way too long and redundant)

Alright. Roomy inside. But appears to appeal more to get togethers for drinks and music rather than dining. Pricey for actual meals.

Food is not bad. the prices are reasonable. Had lunch twice, once me and wife and second time with an other couple. They had the special that was a very large portion and very cheap. I had a buffalo chicken wrap, which had grilled chicken which was very good. My wife had a salad with grille chicken added. The salad was rather small and not a lot of chicken on it. The interior is too wide open and could use some booths. My major complaint is that they charge you for a second soft drink. The soft drink is very small with a lot of ice. If they are going to charge for the second soft drink, they should give you a larger soft drink. I just had a club soda with a shot of cranberry juice and was charged for a refill along with the others being charged for a refill. The server didn’t inform us of being charge for refill nor is it posted any where on the menu.

Took two diners home on Thursday night… pasta was overlooked and spongy, and very little if it for the price I paid. The chicken Milanese was tasteless and the breeding was simply awful. Had eaten here before but dinner was just not good /too bad!

First and possibly the last time here. Went with a group of people on a Saturday night; which might have been a mistake as they had a graduation party in the main Dining area at the same time. Right off to bat, the service left a lot to be desired. Once drinks were obtained, it took a while to place an order, as they had said they had run out of some food the night before, and so some items were not available. For instance, there were no Baked Potatoes available. I’m sorry, but either you need to find a bunch of new suppliers or why could you not have gone to the local Stop & Shop and procured enough Baking Potatoes for that night. When I ran a business, if I ran out of anything, I did what I had to do to find a substitute or alternative supply source. Anyway, enough of the logistics of food supply, lets get down to the appetizer’s, when we got them they were basically warm to cold. My Entrée was one of the«Specials» for that night, which was an open Roast Turkey breast sandwich with stuffing and mashed potatoes; remember no baked potatoes. Well, I ended up complaining to the owner about the amount of salt on the Turkey. She pointed out that she did not salt the meats, so it had to have been the Gravy over the turkey. It was pretty bad, especially as I am on a sodium free diet. I was offered anything else on the menu but declined as my appetite by this time was ruined. I was not charged for the entrée when the final bill was presented. It was also very difficult for people at my table to talk, as the Graduation Party DJ’s music was too loud to allow for Dinnertime conversation. All in all, a very disappointing experience. PAG

Great food! Super classy and clean restaurant. The staff was accommodating for all needs and wants. They have an awesome chef who will make gluten free dishes when needed! The portions were well bigger than what you pay for. Eight person party ordered oil and garlic penne with broccoli, lasagna, calamari, and prime rib. One if a kind place with local owners!

Great ladies night once a month! Attended my second one last night for the price you can’t beat it $ 20 stuffed sole, rice pilaf, fresh veggies, salad, dessert and WINE included .You also get a raffle ticket which gave you several chances to win prizes from the vendors. The vendors were eclectic and reasonable. Diane who runs the place is very attentive and charismatic! I will go again and again a good time for all!

I visited Marilyn’s Pub with my parents. Bristol does not offer a lot of dinner options and my mom and dad wanted to try something new. This location has a history of being«divey» so I was concerned but when we walked in I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was bright(without looking like a cafeteria), clean, and while the décor wouldn’t be my 1st choice, it was neatly done. The waitress was sweet and came over right away to welcome us and get our drink order. She was very attentive throughout the entire meal. The food was good. Not great … But very yummy nonetheless. While this is far from my favorite restaurant ever I can tell this place has the potential to become great. Bristol needs a reasonably priced restaurant where the community can dine for birthdays, anniversaries, and date nights in an atmosphere that’s fancier than an Applebee’s yet economical enough to survive in Bristol’s some-what blue collar economy. I liked this place a lot and I hope it does well. Give it a shot. I think they’ve worked out the kinks since first opening and with a little support from the community this place has the potential to be the best restaurant in town!

The Good. Clean. Interior is well maintained and staff is friendly. The Bad: food was terrible. Mussels: Way to much oil used in cooking and some were not open/undercooked. Fried Mozzarella: Was not hot enough and the marinara was bland.
Greens Salad: Fresh greens and a nice spring mix GOOD.
Shrimp Scampi: Almost inedible. served in almost a soup of garlic, oil and lemon. Way to much Lemon and insane amount of oil. Gave up eating this after a few bites. Bread served with this dish was cold.
Chicken Milanese Sandwich: Flavorless. Roasted peppers were bland, cold, and canned. Won’t eat here again.

Firstly, restaurants in Bristol are few and far between– good restaurants in Bristol are like finding the illuminati. That said, I’ll go easy on any Bristol restaurant. Ok now for the review. Décor– as you walk in the front door you’ll see a clean new bar with pleasantly spaced high top tables in the seating area. If you keep walking you’ll meet the ramp that brings you down to the family seating area which is a large open foyer with ample seating. Miscellaneous Marilyn Monroe and Elvis memorabilia decorate the walls. What caught me as weird is the semi Greek décor that plagues many restaurants in the area. WHY? anyways ill give this area a 4 star Service– The service was poor. Our waitress clearly didn’t have any experience as a waitress and needed an immediate training course. Manners and a bit of class would have been nice. After waiting about 10 minutes she came over with her first words being«are you all set to order?» HAHAHAHA. How about«good evening, my name is trixie, I’ll be your waitress tonight, can I start you with a beverage tonight? We’re offering our signature cocktail the Marilyn abc tonight» «our dinner specials are X, Y, Z» Slow service, didn’t know the draft list(which was about 6 beers) ugh. Like I said 1 star. Food– I ordered the capellini Bolognese which had great flavor. Wasn’t over spiced or under spiced– just right. The temperature was perfect and the ricotta dollop on top was a nice touch. The pasta was overcooked and clearly cheap store brand and the ricotta was granular and not fresh leaving a slightly acidic taste in your mouth. The food I received was something I might expect if I came home late from work and whipped something up quickly. 3 stars for the food Drinks– The draft beer was great. Fresh clean taps and spot on beer. A few local beers in house would be nice. Take a lesson from barely vine on this one. You’ve got Relic in Plainville, two roads in Stratford, hooker in Bloomfield, Calvary in Oxford, NEB in Wallingford etc etc. My point is support your local breweries. Patrons appreciate that. The Malbec that was ordered at the table was terrible. My god. Do not serve acidic skunked red wine at an Italian restaurant!!! 5 stars for the quality of the beer served 2 for the tap list diversity 1 star for the wine quality I may go back for a beer at the bar but ill stay clear of the food. If you’re looking to take a date out for dinner head over to barley vine. You’ll spend 2x but you’ll leave smiling.

Really disappointing. I ordered a draft Stella. It was skunked. Ok, that happens. Got the garlic Parmesan wings. umm, it was chicken with Alfredo sauce poured on them. My friend ordered the buffalo wings/the sauce seriously tasted like ketchup mixed with hot sauce. Will not be back.
