Taste of China

Zero Stars. Ordered delivery online at 5 p.m. Two simple combination platters — nothing spectacularly complex. Paid by credit card online. Received email receipt thanking me for my order and payment. A little over an hour goes by and still no delivery. Tried to call the restaurant 4 times but there is no answer. Finally at 6:40 p.m. someone decided they might want to answer their phone. I say that I am calling to check on my delivery and I am asked my address. The man answering the phone seems completely uninterested but yells something that I am not able to understand; presumably to someone else working there. After a few minutes of this back and forth and a few more muffles to the phone I am flatly told «few more minute» and the man hangs up. Fifteen minutes later (now 2 hours after I placed my order) the delivery driver came to the front door. No sorry for the wait, no oh my mistake… no none of that. He demands to see my credit card and advises that it did not go through online and he would like to write the number down. Uh yeah, no… I don’t think so buddy. Considering I have a receipt showing that I made the payment online and given the fact it took you 2 hours to get here you can just take your food right back to your store. I think I have some mozzarella sticks in the freezer. I’ll eat those or go to bed hungry before I would eat the food that they brought me and give someone my credit card number to write down. Scratching them off the list of places to order from.

Decided to give ToC another chance. Since my last review in 2011 I vowed never to throw any business their way but seeing as how I’m a forgiving person I figured hey what the heck?
We ordered from ToC once last week and again last night. Both time delivery took a little over an hour. If they can improve upon this they might get better ratings.
The Food: Between the last two visits we’ve had the eggdrop/​wonton soup. Chow Mei Fun, General Tso’s chicken & shrimp. Honey boneless wings, Crab Rangoons, Steamed chicken & shrimp, Orange flavored beef.
Everything has been good. Nothing has been outstanding and everything cooked perfectly. They are one of the best places in the area and so far have been consistent which is something Chinese restaurants around the Bristol area lack. I will continue to order from ToC as long as they can maintain this level of quality.

I wish it was possible to give zero or negative stars. We ordered from here for the first time and the last tonight. Everything was incredibly greasy. The lo mein tasted like it had been sitting somewhere for hours. It lacked all flavor and was the consistency of rubber. I have never been so disappointed or thrown so much food out. I wasn’t even willing to let the dogs eat it. After ordering delivery specifically to avoid cooking dinner, I found myself in the kitchen at 7:30 beginning to prepare what we dubbed «back up dinner #2».

Painfully slow delivery, but the food is ok. One of the few places that delivers to our friends’ house in Burlington.

Chinese food around Bristol is very mundane and bland — everyone has the same menu and cooks the exact same way. We stumbled upon this gem and it is now our go to chinese take-​out. They are priced very reasonably, offer items that typically are not offered at other take out chinese restaurants and deliver!
