Used to be great with prior owners but under current management the place seems to be in disarray. Food is left out too long, meaning it is always cold and congealed. Their once thriving Mongolian BBQ section is all but abandoned even though it’s still advertised. They seem to have done what most poorly run Chinese restaurants have done: they doubled down on more American-style food(poorly made) and a larger selection of unidentifiable supermarket-quality sushi(also poorly made). The new marketing push in ads seems to be «Lobster on Sundays!» but going by the quality of their crablegs and the quantity they usually have, I’m not buying into the idea. This is a place where my family reserved the excellent backroom three years in a row for birthday family dinners. Now you can barely see the backroom because boxes are stacked all over the place. It’s a shame how far this place has fallen.

Dined in tonight with my 3 kids(all under age 7) around 3:30. There wasn’t a single item in the buffet that was fresh when we arrived. In order to make up for that, we tried the fresh to order Mongolian Grill. Our seafood and chicken came out half cooked. Upon reporting this to the staff they not only ignored me but they charged me for 4 adult buffets. Just ridiculous and gross.

This is your average Chinese buffet. Nothing special. But like all buffets they are expensive. And personally I don’t eat enough to go to buffets, but it is pretty good. So it is something that I will go to if I’m with a group of people but nothing I crave and want all the time

Stopped going there some time ago. Used to be very good. Just to give it another try to see if it improved, I went recently and it seems that it actually got worse. Small selection, dried out food, greasy food, and they didn’t replace empty trays. I tried to find something good to say but alas, I will not be back. Bottom line, don’t waste your money.

Terrible, one of the worst buffets I ever been to, there food sits there for hours, if you don’t come on busy hours u get horrible food, basically un eattable. I don’t recommend this place ever to anyone.

Did a take-out order tonight. Standard Chinese buffet fare. Food was OK tasting, but felt the selection overall was lacking. A weak 3 Star rating.

This used to be the best one around, my family used to go a lot on Sundays. It’s changed hands so many time and now the food is disgusting. If you want to shed 5 pounds from food poisoning by all means head on down.

This place went down hill when management changed. Prior to the change it was great. However now, the food is often cold, staff is rude, they had a Mongolia area and usually there isn’t anyone paying attention to it. It’s just not inviting or tasty anymore.

When I lived in Bristol, i used to come here to eat every week. Due to a change in management, this buffet just wasn’t good anymore. I ate here once and haven’t came back since. Some food were too salty and some just doesn’t have enough flavor.

This place is very family friendly. The waitress always plays peekaboo with my son and makes him laugh. Service is very fast, hArdly ever have dirty plates on our table. The price is ok. I’m always happy with the food.

Quick cheap and convenient Boofays are a special breed of restaurants, you don’t go to one for personalized service or gourmet food. The appeal is the wide selection of different food and the fact that you just go up and load up your own plate without waiting around for some server. Century Boofay is typical of many of the Asian oriented ones. Food is decent but never great or exceptional. Century does have a wide selection of different items including sushi, a Mongolian grill, some seafood and the usual stuff you would expect. All the food I had here was tasty and fresh and what I really enjoyed were the veggies. Not over cooked into mush like some places, Several different broccoli choices as well as some vegetarian options so eating healthy is possible here. The staff was pleasant enough and were really good at taking away empty plates, refilling water and bringing the check quickly when they saw that your gluttony was coming to an end. Boofays are different from regular restaurants, not a place to go to be fawned over and treated like royalty. Just a place to go to get lots of different types of food at really inexpensive prices. And Century Boofay delivers exactly that.

Not very good at all. Big selection but the food was dried out and I saw a staff pick up food that fell on the counter and place it back in the tray. Not cool. They offer Mongolian BBQ but all that raw meat is left out on the serving bar, uncovered. The sushi looked as if it had been sitting there all night. Suffice to say that was the first and last visit to century buffet for me.

I never met a Chinese buffet I didn’t like… well, the one on Myrtle Street in New Britain is impossibly horrendous. Still, my opinion of this place may be higher than the average Unilocaler… read at your own risk :). It’s pretty much like all other buffets… B-minus food in unlimited amounts at reasonably cheap prices. But I must award four stars in this particular case, as I’ve identified two major perks that set Century Buffet slightly apart from their competitors. #1: Actual sushi. Most buffets throw out a few California rolls and say they have a «sushi bar,» but this place actually had one tray of whole fish pieces over rice. It wasn’t bad. At least it didn’t make me sick, which is a victory in and of itself. #2: A few actual healthy options! There was a tray of steamed broccoli, some green beans, a salad bar, fresh fruit, etc… This might be one buffet where the health conscious don’t have to starve, lest they be forced into eating a week’s worth of trans fat! An admirable lunch experience overall… for a buffet.

The food has gone downhill since the new management took over. They’ve replaced a lot of the generic Chinese-American cuisine with generic fried food and/or odd cheese dishes such as «tomatoes stuff with cheese».

Although not up to the quality that the previous ownership had, the food and service has really improved since my last review in October.

A really good Chinese buffet. Awesome prices, and the mongolian grill is something you won’t find anywhere else around.
