Shanghai Avenue Super Buffet

I went here because I had a coupon and the reviews here were good. It was not so hot. There were not many people there. That should have been a clue.
The buffet is small. One salad /​fruit bar, one dessert bar (with the usual generic Asian Buffet suspects on it) and 3 entrée bars. One ice milk machine. Only sprinkles, no chocolate for toppings. All small sized, about 10 – 12 trays each. So not a lot of selection.
Food is mostly the same familiar standard ‘frozen, then heated up’ Asian Buffet fare we see at each one. Thin sliced beef and chicken. The teriyaki chicken on skewers was flame grilled, which was good once they got fresh ones out, but too charred. Not bad once you scrape the black parts off. No fish. Disappointing.
There were 3 trays set out of fresh food the whole time I was there, that I saw. Many trays were never refilled of some things I really wanted. About halfway through my visit, they decided there was just not enough people to set any more out and just gave up. So most of the food was old and cold.
The service was good and the mushrooms were excellent. Otherwise, nothing special.

Wow! For a Tulsa buffet, this is a 5 star. Clean, well lit, friendly staff and all the food was warm and seasoned. Selection was nice. My wife and I go to a buffet at least once every other week, and I like to hit the highest rated on in towns we pass through. Hands down a great buffet. For having written reviews of all the major buffets in Vegas, I am very picky… this one (for being outside of Vegas) is a 5 star.

This is my favorite buffet in BA that I’ve found so far. This is a standard buffet no Mongolian grill. It has all the standard fav’s that you’d expect. Plus soft serve ice cream and a desert bar with cookies, cakes and all kinds of snacky snacks.
This is a great place to go after a long session of day drinkin with your friends and designated driver (be responsible). Show up all liquored up and grub til ya sober up. Trust me I’m a professional.

My parent’s tried it yesterday and recommended it to me. I went with my co-​worker to try it out and it was very good! It was clean, the food was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be coming back more. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a Clean Chinese buffet with fresh food :-) (as we know most buffet’s aren’t so clean). I also, loved they had so much variety of dishes and veggie options.

Unfortunately the only nice thing I can say is about the staff. The service was great, fast refills and quick to be seated.
Beyond that it was awful! Not a lot of variety compared to the other Chinese buffets I have been to. Each dish was lacking or not a good flavor. From appetizer to dessert: Some fruit was not fresh, but canned, others was not ripe. Ice cream was not cream based it was chocolate flavored ice — gross! There wasn’t a single main dish I took that I went back for seconds. Everything was floating in oil and bland. Even the fortune cookies were stale.
I will not be coming back.

I used to come here a lot years ago and it was amazing. I have given this place chance after chance lately and have finally decided to not come back. I have no idea what everyone tastes in this food, but all I taste is nasty! It’s always cold, over soaked in sauce, and in my opinion has a weird taste to it. At least you don’t break the bank.

My partner and I have been coming here for a few years now. We have never had a bad experience. Service is usually good. The food is exceptional — for buffet food, it’s unbelievable. The dishes are replaced quite frequently, even when it’s not very busy, and they almost always taste fresh. The selection is huge and varied, and the offerings have been pretty consistent over the years. The crab Rangoon and coconut chicken are always highlights.

For $ 7.95 dinner and $ 6.95 lunch this is the place to be for Chinese good, 36 dishes and 24 sweet dishes what else you want !

Great variety of chicken, all well cooked and fresh. I was definitely able to get my fill in this Chinese buffet. Even my kids loved it, and they are very picky eaters! Definitely the best buffet I have been to in a while. The quality is not noticeably worse than that of a non-​buffet restaurant.

Truly the most incredible Asian buffet food. Service is quick and spot on and the restaurant is clean and in order. Highly recommended this place and we WILL be back!!!

Amazing! Truly, every dish is perfect in taste and quality. No low-​budget buffet here. Everything is fresh. My wife compared the food to a high-​end Asian chain and said «I would not have enjoyed that any more than this». This place is a gem.

The food was good and the people were very friendly and helpful. There many excellent choices. Everything was clean and the hot food was kept hot.

Not the largest buffet i’ve ever seen, but the selection was really good. Friendly and attentive staff and good prices on their buffets. They even have a loyalty punch card if you eat there a lot (unfortunately they allow one card per person, so no matter how many people are on your ticket you only get one punch per visit per card). Went right around the time they opened, so obviously everything was fresh, but the quality was really good. Will definitely have to give this place another try!

The quality of the food was exceptional. There was a large selection, and a huge variety. My husband really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and the coconut chicken, I really enjoyed the seafood, there was like six or seven different choices and that’s the most I have seen in a buffet in a long time. The price was about a dollar cheaper than most Chinese buffets, but the food was really really delicious.
