I rarely have an experience here that is good. I ordered nachos, which basically was nacho chips drenched in cheese spread, un chopped lettuce(literally just giant leafs of lettuce) and tomato. This would pretty much set the stage for the rest. My wife ordered a veggie burger, which was build your own. Pricey and greasy. I ordered a panini which was falling apart. The bread wasnt pressed like a panini and was just soaked. Every time the waiter refilled my coffee, it was cold. They changed the menu a while ago, so now it is just an over-priced greasy meal. I get it is a diner, so i dont expect 5-star cuisine, but they need a lot of work. Especially if they are going to charge those prices. The only positive is the interesting shakes they have, which again are pretty pricey. The shake with espresso was actually vey good, but took a long time to get. Delivery is no better. They are fairly quick, but everything is mushy and cold. I hope they pick up their game, because we don’t have many diners close by. I will give it another shot in a few months.

DONOTORDERFROMHERE!!! This place doesn’t deserve your money. Rude«GM» doesn’t care about his customers. Misleading descriptions with the burgers, purposely to make you order lettuce & tomatoes(which already comes with the order). The soda which comes in a 16oz cup is $ 2.69 so don’t think you’re getting a 2 liter. He told me «I don’t know where you’re getting a 2 liter for 2.69» like WHAT?! Overcooked burger, tasted like it was burned and little care put into it, kind of like the fake GM. I paid extra for a few things which never came with my order & the«GM» didn’t anything about it. I asked for a refund because of the price of the food and all the things that went wrong with the order and he hung up on me and told me to get a better argument. How about this one you ass? Just do yourself a favor and don’t order from this overpriced non caring establishment. After looking at the reviews, I see I’m not the only one who had the same issues. And if that really is the GM, he should get fired, DIRTBAG!

After speaking with them on the phone, they were extremely rude and had no idea what I was talking about. My entire office will never order from them again.

The woman who picks up the phone was such in a rush to get me off the phone after giving her the details for one of the breakfast platters. When I told her I had to pay with credit card she RUDELY cut me off and told me she had to call me back. FINE… I had to call TWICE to see where my food was at. I order breakfast not lunch so why would it ever be okay to get my food delivered TWOHOURSLATER??? Not only was the food made incorrectly but it was cold. Who the hell wants to eat cold eggs??? When I called to speak to a manager I was transferred to an older man who was rude just like the lady who took my order(I’m assuming it’s his wife) and told me «what am i suppose to do when i have so many orders to deliver?». I’ve been ordering from this diner for a little over a year now, but today is definitely my last. I can’t speak too much on the food, because I’ve only ever ordered the breakfast tacos or burgers which were both pretty decent. However delivery has always been about 40−45mins. Not today though, my order didn’t end up coming until TWO hours later. I called at least 10 times to figure out the status of my food, however the phone was busy every time. Bad business.

As someone who works in the Bronx, we occasionally Order lunch from this diner. The food often arrives late and cold. Today however I had an even more unacceptable experience and I will not be ordering again. Myself and two coworkers each ordered from seamless and ordered on our own accounts. I placed the order first however after an hour and a half, their food showed up and mine did not. I called and the restaurant told me they hadn’t gotten my order. I had already been charged, gotten texts and emails confirming, and was told my food was on its way. The women working their hung up on me twice and told me to straighten it out with seemless. She later realized they had gotten the order they just hadn’t seen it. I told her she needed to figure out my refund and then she hung up on me. I will never order from here again.

service sucks!!! over priced and manager refused to provide us with plastic utensils. After waiting 50 min for a simple order of French Toast with eggs we got up and left. Tasteless, bland, and dry never again.

Not good. Ordered take out, chicken parmigiana and a can of sprite. Added the can of soda to get the order up to minimum for delivery. What arrived was pitiful. A dry piece of chicken with literally no sauce and way too much parmigiana on a hard roll with fries stuck and mashed on the inside of the sandwich. The soda I got was a coke, not in a can but in a small cup with a lid stuffed inside of a paper bag. The soda did not come with a straw, but instead it leaked everywhere inside the paper bag. All in all, I spent $ 20 including tip for a disappointing, overpriced gross lunch. Nope.

I am currently sitting in the diner having just finished my meal. I order a simple bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with fries and my guest ordered mozzarella sticks. My sandwich arrived with the wrong bread choice so they had to send it back, when I finally got my sandwich it was cold, cheese was solid on a «hot» sandwich. The fries were warm and some of them were not cooked fully and were chunky uncooked potato on the inside. The mozzarella sticks were rock hard on the outside, nearly inedible. The service wasn’t to terrible but wasn’t very pleasant either, our waitress seemed to very overloaded and rushed through everything, not very cheerful or happy to be serving, I say this because that ambience can cause poor service. I would definitely not come back.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Where should I start? I ordered delivery; the driver refused to come upstairs because he didn’t want to get towed. My complex has a designated area for delivers, just as long as you put your hazard lights on and don’t stay longer than 20 mins. There is a HUGE sign that says this in the parking area. After arguing w/the driver for 5 mins, he finally come upstairs. I get my food & I was beyond disappointed. The steak in my quesadilla was tough & unseasoned. The salad had wilted greens & my fries were cold & hard. I paid $ 2.69 for a Spite, you would think it would be in a can/bottle. It was a SMALL fountain cup full of ice & flat soda.

I got sick and so did my wife! That’s classified as a foodborne illness outbreak I will be calling ! Cheese and gravy fries were Brent. Gravy was scorched! Ask for American cheese they put mozzarella! We did not eat that but we ate our appetizers and our hamburgers sick three days after with gas bloating and lower bowel problems! Old oil!!!

I’ve been coming to crosstown for many years. I considered it to be one of the best diners in the Bronx. Definitely not anymore. The past few times I’ve been here, the food hasn’t been up to par., the service got slower while the prices for higher. The quality of the food has gone down with each visit. Still, each time I still came back. My last visit here, Saturday August 15 around 1230/1am. I came in with my two cousins who were leaving for Canada in the morning, my brother and my girlfriend. We were all quickly seated, had ordered our food and waited in excitement as we were all a bit hungry. One of my cousins ended up getting a chicken wrap. Don’t remember which one exactly but she took two bites and put it down and just nibbled on her fries. I tried her wrap as her food arrived before ours. And it was overcooked. And whatever sauce they put in it left a horrible taste in your mouth. She was no longer hungry. Plate set aside. We sent it back. The rest of our food arrived. My brother ordered loaded waffle fries. They came out looking sloppy and they were literally missing half the toppings. I had a burger which I asked medium was burnt to a crisp and my bun was stale. They tried to argue this fact but I know the difference between stale and toasted. I sent it back My gf’s dish was a whole different story. She ordered cheese ravioli. However, what she got was so far from it. I had a bite after she complained and it was chewy and rubbery like, I had to spit it out. This was not cheese and had a fishy smell. We immediately called over our waiter to find out what it was as she has a shellfish allergy. Now, I get sometimes dining places make mistakes but to have 4 mistakes is quite major. The manager came out and as I was trying to explain she has a food allergy while trying to figure out what this was, he constantly continued to cut me off and proceed to hand me «extra guac and sour cream and salsa for the fries» with some«napkins on the side». Not for a single moment, did he once care to find out what it was or have any concern of her allergy. After arguing for about 3min with me throwing sides of guac on my damn table, he finally walked away and two waiters passed by and I heard one day that definitely isn’t cheese. I was so disgusted in the food and with the manager, I just wanted to leave at this point. Everybody in my party was upset. We got the check and paid for my brother’s meal who didn’t complain I’m assuming ’cause he’s young and these kids eat anything. And for the fries. I am rather upset we were charged for these fries we hardly touched but whatever. We left still starving and disappointed as my girlfriend was throwing up in your parking lot. After over 10years of going here, I will certainly never be returning.

Ok so I’m not big on diners so I definitely did not have high expectations for this one. We came here saturday morning in order to enjoy breakfast. And that unfortunately did not happen. As soon as we sit down, I am appalled at the prices for breakfast. Almost 10 bucks for 2 eggs and ham. Im sorry but thats way too pricey. I’ve been to diners where the average price for simple breakfast is around 6 or 7 bucks. But against my better judgement, i remained. We ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and home fries and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. So let me start with the bagel. The bagel was barely toasted and in between the bagel slices were slabs of cream cheese. I mean literally 2 slabs, not spread around. As if they just cut the cream cheese and just threw it on. When we received our eggs and bacon, my wife notices something stringy on the bacon. Unfortunatley it was a hair. And not hair from the head, but actual arm hair deep fried. I call the guy back and show him and he gets a new order. So as expected we cautiously inspect it and to our dismay we found another hair. My wife didn’t eat and left the plate and I called the waiter over again and showed him. He showed the manager and a few minutes later he came and said it would be removed from the bill, and thankfully it was. As far as my food, it was ok. The coffee was actually pretty good. The eggs were cooked perfectly but the bacon was not to my liking. Some were over cooked and some were under cooked. Addendum: Shortly after my review. One of the managers was kind enough to write me regarding my issue and concern. He was kind to refund us the entire bill and a bit more out of a good gesture. I can say that this is the first time I have ever been treated so kindly and I thank you Bill for the responses. It is because of managers like him that people will give locations a second chance and that is what I plan on doing in a week or two. I’m sure that this isn’t a regular incident and im sure it was corrected. I look forward to trying them again.

CHOCOLATECHIPPANCAKES. well i know i can get this anywhere basically but it was super delicious here. its a regular ol diner, but they have a whole lot of choices to eat from the menu The staff is very hospitable and nice. it had a very classic ol Deli kinda vibe to it as well. the staff was very nice as soon as i walked in as well. !

Once again another disappointing, overpriced, incorrect meal from the Crosstown. I don’t know how I continually convince myself to order from here but this will be the last time. The food is mediocre at best and priced in line with some of the restaurants in the area. Take out orders constantly come wrong and it’s almost a surprise when you get a correct order. My money will be spent at better diners from now on.

I went there today with high hopes but that was quickly crushed. Since I was given a gift card, I was assuming and hoping that the day I ordered off of grub hub was just a fluke. My boyfriend and I go to the diner to eat since we still had the gift card. Our waiter was Mike, he was so funny and very prompt. My boyfriend had pot roast with broccoli and mashed potatoes. He said his was okay for try number two. I ordered stuffed baked clams with mashed potatoes and string beans. When I got my clams there was a lot of grease on the plate & the clams weren’t fully cooked. There seemed to be an issue with me telling them that I didn’t like the clams. So I asked for fried shrimp. *sigh*…that wasn’t any better. The shrimp took extremely to long to come out. Long story short, the shrimp wasn’t better. We asked for the check… now I was so upset with the food that I didn’t realize the overcharge until we left. The 6 large stuffed clams was $ 15.99, however the shrimp meal was $ 20.99 and their was only 5 pieces in the meal. I won’t be ordering from there ever again.

I’d give ‘em a 3 to a 3.2! When we first walked in, there was a slight bit of a delay in terms of being acknowledged but once we were, we were lead to a booth. What I love about this place is that it reminds me of an old school diner. Our server was very friendly and polite. I made my own wrap, and while it was tasty, it wasn’t exactly what I ordered. I asked for a whole wheat wrap, eggplant, avocado, spinach, and balsamic dressing. I got 4 out of 5(I didn’t get the balsamic dressing) and I got mozzerella cheese which I never asked for. I decided to eat it anyway and it was good, but the cheese was gummy and really stuck to the wrap which made me think it wasn’t fresh. The eggplant was also breaded which is fine but I was looking for grilled eggplant. Portions are pretty large though! Prior to the wrap, we were given challah bread(warm) with various cracker packets(melba toast, saltines, and the like) with little butter packets. I also was given soup. I chose the chicken soup which was yummy but clearly out of a can. It was soup that had alphabet letters in it. I’d be highly impressed if they made the alphabet noodles fresh but it’s doubtful as they were perfectly uniform. Coleslaw was delicious and so were the fries. I didn’t get the impression that the fries were fresh either but they were still tasty nonetheless. I did very much appreciate the bathroom though! Totally nice and clean. As a matter of fact, they seem to pride themselves in that as part of the sign in there. Apparently, they had the best burgers in the Bronx in 2011. I’m curious to try one but really, I’m not rushing to go back.

Final review: very very hospitable service, decent food. When it comes down to customer satisfaction they assure satisfaction. * mediocre food, prices need to be dropped a little, delivery time needs work as well. Other then that, great local food joint.

I took my 8 year year old daughter here, we ordered the fried appetizer, pancakes a California omelet and two lemonades. They serve plenty, we took half of the food home with us. Over all the food was good. The service on the other hand was quite slow. We sat there for a little while before our waitress even showed up to ask if we were ready. We ordered immediately(we definitely had more than enough time to review the menu). Then a waiter came by with our water a minute later the lemonades showed up. Another long while passed before we got the appetizers. The food showed up shortly after. And it took a while before anyone asked if I needed a refill on my water. We went through about 3 waiters in one sitting. We started with the waitress who took our order, then another brought water, the subsequent waiter who took care of us for the rest of our meal seemed to have been assigned to us. Had it not been for the attentive service of the last waiter the review would have been 2 stars. I thought I was a bit impatient but at the end of our meal, as I was leaving the tip, my daughter whispered«mom, I didn’t want to say anything in front of the waiters but the service is really bad here». I couldn’t help but laugh. I thought it was adorable, the way she whispered to me, and it validated that they in fact were really slow. It may be a while before I come here again. Hopefully the next time will be better. Ps: The food is so much better when eating in than delivery.
