Their desserts are pretty good. Their specialty ordered cakes are awesome as well. Why the 1 star?
The girls that work their are SOOOOOOOO RUDE! I came in to order some pastries and the girl wouldn’t even acknowledge my presence. she was too wrapped up in my fiancé! Even he felt awkward! This isn’t the first time I’ve had to deal with attitudes from the girls behind the counter. I don’t know if she’s new or not, but, she looks indian… if she asks if she can help you… just say NO THANKS!!! The Spanish girl with long hair in there always has the world of problems and takes it out on customers. (Sorry for using their race as a description, I don’t know their names.) The only reason I go here is because it’s conveniently located by my job. But that’s it. The sweets are quickly spoiled by the sour employees. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, GET YOUR DESSERT ELSEWHERE.

I like to come here for the cheese danish and pound cakes. Cash only!
My only small gripe is that the items aren’t well marked for prices so you have to ask the price of everything. Also, the items in the display case are all refrigerated, even the cookies and rugelach (sp?) so they will be hard and brittle at times.
The counter girls are nice and helpful.

I never been to this bakery before, but i have walked by it a lot. Today was my Dad’s birthday so my mom went there and bought the chocolate cheesecake! It was so good! We all loved it! I will definitely come here myself next time!

This ia follow-​up to my review about e and l bakery. I wrote review about my experience and received response from owner eddie p. It’s funny that he responded saying he wishes he would have handled it personally. I say its FUNNY because it was him i spoke to. So headsup when he respond its not GENUINE. I guess its for show because his is now on social media with a not favorable review.

Great bakery, reasonable prices I am pleased with my order! The cake I ordered taste very good, looks very good and was well appreciated by my husband as his gift! Thank E and L bakery I will definitely come back.

Pretty bad! I went in for a slice of plain cheesecake. I immediately noticed that some of the slices were longer than others. It looked like there were slices of cheesecake from different pies assembled to look as if it were one big cheesecake. I decided (against my better judgement) to give it a try anyway. I asked one of the two female young lady staff members whether or not it was fresh, her response was, «I really don’t know». I should’ve stopped there but I guess I was feeling adventurous. She turned the entire cheesecake in a whirling motion to see where the freshest piece was.
(I know right now you’re thinking, WHY DIDNT YOU WALK OUT???, the answer is I needed sugar baaaaad! And I’m crazy!)
Anyhow, she says, «this piece looks good», I said, «ok great, I’ll take it». I also asked for a cup of coffee, that was in those hot thermos type dispensers, she made the coffee as asked, I paid and left. Now fast forward to the moment I/we’ve been waiting for… the top of the cheesecake was hard like a slice of cheese that had been sitting on the counter all day. The one and only bite I had, tasted like creamy sugar cake instead of cheesecake, where’s the cream cheese flavor? It was non-​existent! I couldn’t continue eating, I had to dispose of it. The coffee was barely hot, I wonder why didn’t she feel that when poured the coffee, she actually held the cup, didn’t she realize the cup wasn’t even warm?
Overall, really dissatisfied. I really wanted to like this place after reading the Unilocal reviews and seeing the pics of the beautiful cakes they make.
Was it just a fluke? I don’t think I’ll dare to try again.

Excellent cakes. My favorite is a basic vanilla cake with vanilla filling. Lived in the neighborhood all my life but finally tried it 2 years ago. One thing that bothers me is that they do not accept credit/​debit cards but they accept EBT?

Came here last night after the bakery my boyfriend wanted to go to in Yonkers to get a last minute bday cake was closed. So thanks to Unilocal I found this jewel of a bakery.
It was around 7:45 pm so our chances of finding a bakery that was open were slim. I saw on Unilocal they were open till 9 so I called to make sure. I spoke to a very pleasant woman on the phone & she told me they were open.
So, with my bf arguing with me that it was too far, I google mapped it & it was only 8 minutes away. Luckily I was driving so he had no choice.
When we arrived, we entered a confectionary paradise. Pictures of Cake Boss level fondant decorated cakes adorned the walls. The cakes were arranged in a perfect display of enticing delights. Cupcakes, brownies & cookies were displayed in their own tempting showcase. And, to our surprise, they had a freezer section with a variety of ice cream cakes.
We ended up getting 2 bday cakes, unbeknownst to me my bf had to get another cake for somebody else. We chose a vanilla cake w chocolate filling and a Snicker flavored ice cream cake. The staff were super nice & gracious with helping us with the icing & writing on cakes. We saw a cake we wanted with pink flowers on it but told her it was for a guy, she offered to change them to blue no problem.
THE CAKE WAS REALLY GOOD!
I took a bite of the vanilla chocolate filling cake & omg, it was perfectly moist, the filling light, chocolatey, pudding like consistency. What got me was the icing. It was light & fluffy almost like whipped cream made from scratch, & super fresh, as if we custom ordered.
Moral of the story, considering we came last minute, no custom pre-​order, shop about to close… we ended up with some amazing cakes that tasted incredibly fresh baked. & the staff were super nice too. They were the icing on the cake

I haven’t been to the store but a friend of mine bought a strawberry cheesecake from this bakery for my cousins birthday and it was terrific. It was light but tasted like something a story book. I will be coming here directly from now on. The prices are fair and the pastries honest. I hope they dont let me down on May 29^th 2014. lol
