The best patties ever. I moved to CT and whenever I get a chance. I stop by for a treat. You can’t go wrong with any thing on the menu. These are how patties and coco bread are supposed to be done. Nothing like a hot patty and warm coco bread. You also have to try the sandwiches which are made with coco bread!!!

It’s hard to describe to people who have never had the patties here using another word than«significantly different». I like all the choices offered, but my favorite is the chicken patties. Both the chicken and beef patties tastes like the crusts is lined with fat, or butter. Something that make your taste buds explode on the first bite and will have you surrendering all your extra money here. I’ve had both hot dishes and the mac and cheese here on my visits. The mac and cheese is also hard to describe since technically nothing about it is out of this world. But the top is a little charred and crispy, the macaroni is soft and while not overly cheesy, it has a kick, almost spicy but not hot. So overall the food here is hard to describe, other than you have to try it and become a believer.

I’m from queens, but my uncle used to live here many years ago and would take us here from when I was very young. The only thing that comes close to their patties and bread are bakeries not on this continent. If you’re ever in this neighborhood, please come here instead of Golden Krust.

I love this place and have been eating there for years. A friend of mine who is from BK told me all about it and now I will drive from an hour away in NJ to have the patties and coco bread. I’m Jamaicain and I’m a stickler for authenticity but it’s hard to find many authentic Jamaicain bakeries/restaurants in NJ. Jackie’s is the best I’ve had in NY thus far. Their sorrell is also homemade, which is an added bonus.

Hands down… This is my fave Jamaican spot in the Bronx. Service is great. The food is a nice size portion and the price is budget friendly. I gave a 4 out 5 because they need a bigger space, so customers can dine in. Their patties are homemade, and so delicious. Today I finally tried their calloloo loaf and my oh my… Also today is the first time, that I’m trying their brown stew chicken. This dish is so flavorful. I love their carrot cake without icing. Never a disappointment here. One day I craved soup, and at the time I went there they only had a vegetarian soup. All kind of yams, dumplings, and veggies. It was a full flavored soup, there was a nice spice and hint of coconut. If you haven’t tried their food, it’s a must. Go for it!

Ok hands down, this is a true Caribbean restaurant. A major plus is they accept credit cards! Once I walked in, I knew the food was great site because the aroma emanating from this place is heavenly and the line was Damn near out the door. The staff is friendly and they work very efficiently and place customer satisfaction above all. During this visit, I ordered a small stew chicken(because I’m a sucker for brown stew chicken) and a chicken patty with coca bread. I’m telling u this food is amazing! The coca bread came straight from the oven and the chicken patty reminds me of the sweet patties back in Jamaica. The brown stew chicken is hands down among the best I’ve had in the Bronx and trust me, I’ve sampled dozens of Caribbean places out here. Also, their menu is extensive and they even serve fresh blueberry muffins and cornbread! I mean, is there anything this place can’t cook?! I strongly advise you try this place!

I love this place! I am part West Indian and I haven’t really had food cooked this way ever since my grandfather pasted and it’s awesome that I get to enjoy it again every so often :)

Excellent coco bread, very good patties. Their chicken sandwiches are only $ 4 and they give you a nice chunk of chicken on aforementioned coco bread. Of the dinners have only had fried chicken with $ 1 mac and cheese add-on(well worth it) and it was very good as well. There’s usually somewhat of a line, but moves fairly quickly. Not much décor, but as stated elsewhere, strictly a take-out place. TL:DR version: discovered this place because was looking for a good Jamaican patty place, but tend to gravitate to other things than patties.

Can never go wrong with Jackie’s. Good food for a very reasonable price. Want some quick west indian cuisine, then this is the place to be!!!

As a previous poster mentioned, there is hardly a place to sit and eat your food(One rinky dink table and 2 chairs. Seriously, why do they even bother?!), but it’s still worth it to come to Jackie’s West Indian Bakery. Here, you can buy some deliciously warm and toasty coco bread and patties. I usually like to get a veggie patty with coco bread. Once in awhile I buy those items with some Ting. One thing to be aware of is the pushy people waiting on line to be served during lunch time. You really have to watch so someone doesn’t cut you in line! :/Never had their regular food here. I have just enjoyed their baked goods, which also include the carrot cake and the red velvet cake as well. The staff is attentive and polite. Totally recommend visiting Jackie’s West Indian Bakery. :)

There’s NOTHING better than the fresh made coco bread at Jackie’s! I have been coming here for over 20 years. The patties, curry goat and oxtail are also delicious. great. The service is friendly and quick. If you have never been here you’re missing out.

I just moved to the area and I have frequented this bakery probably more than any other business in the area. The food is good and there are plenty of healthy food and drink options. The vegetable patties are addicting and the service is quick.

I grew up on this food. Some of the best Jamaican food in NYC. Bill Cosby has visited amongst other prominent visitors. You can’t go wrong with the oxtail, stewed chicken or curry goat. I’m also a fan of their desserts. Try the strawberry/cream cheese and coconut tarts. Yum! There’s also a big selection of homemade Jamaican drinks like Irish Moss and Carrot Juice. This place is strictly take-out.
