La Lupita

Lupitas is reopened the food is great here. Fast delivery. I recommend the hard shell tacos. Everything I ordered so far from here taste fresh and they serve you a lot of food.

They are opening back up hopefully in a couple weeks! Just spoke with one of the guys who works there on the phone.

No they are closed I’m so sad I really loved this place for a long time… everything I love in this neighborhood is closing =(come back. I want my hangover guacamole!!!

CLOSED. I’m really sad but this place is no longer in business. There was a fire in that building and they’ve been closed ever since. Have called them many times and they don’t answer :(Really disappointed

They make great traditional Mexican quick foods. I really learned to love their sandwiches called TORTA and always fall ack on the traditional corn chicken tacos. small and cozy better for takeout or deliveries.

I ordered a Bistec Burrito, and Flan and it was delicious!!! It’s a pretty big and very tasty. This is not the first time I had food from this restaurant and everything so far was really good.
My order was delivered pretty quick, less than a half hour from the time it was ordered on grub hub. I definitely recommend them.

The food is amazing! I’m a big fan of their soups — the chicken-​lime and beef tripe are my favs. Their chimichangas are delicious and filling as are their enchiladas. The veggies are always fresh, which is a plus. As other reviewers have said, the staff is super-​pleasant and professional. And food is [usually] delivered very fast (see below). Oh and the both the carnitas and chorizos are amazing!
The only downside is that they do not have the online-​thing down yet. I ordered on grub hub for the first time today and had a sub par experience. First, Grub Hub did not have their entire menu. I was unable to order my favorite (chicken-​lime) soup. I added a note to the order asking for the chicken-​lime if they had it, but I think the note was ignored. The reason I think that it was ignored or went unread is because I also asked them not to include beans with my order and they added them anyway.
Second, they advertised $ 5 off with a special code. I entered that code on grub hub and it seemed to have gone through, but when the deliver person arrived with my receipt the discount was not included and he had no clue what I was talking about.
Third, although they usually deliver very quickly when I call, when I ordered online it too almost an hour. This isn’t the biggest deal, but I do live around the corner and I didn’t order anything complex. It makes me wonder if Grub Hub is too slow and whether they should stick with their own online ordering system.

Love love their staff. Always very friendly and I am always heard. I like my food spicy so when I asked if there were anyway to make the Verde (green) sauce hotter waitress told me she’ll remember to ask the chef to make it spicer next time. And she did remember!
I’ve gone 3 times already and am looking forward to every Friday.
Their enchiladas de pollo con salsa verde is soooo filling. I leave there like a stuff pig in a blanket.
I also had tacos de pollo, carne enchilada y carne cecina. By far the chicken and pork are my favorite.
Anyway bottom line is I love this place.

Ordered from here for the first time this week. Delivery was very fast the food was still hot too!
Ordered two tacos (Chicken & Carnitas) Both were delicious and fresh tasting.
Also had a side of guac which was really good and a steak tostada which also was really. good. No complaints here.

This place is fantastic!!! We go here all the time. The food is super fresh and the tortillas are amazing. Our family is vegetarian, and there are not a lot of vegetarian-​friendly restaurants in the Bronx, but Lupita has a lot of dishes for us to choose from. Most Mexican places will make you a meatless taco or burrito if you ask, but it’s kind of an afterthought. Lupita’s got a ton of choices already on the menu. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual and the food is consistently awesome. The vegetarian tacos and nachos are the best around, and our kids love the cheese flautas & quesadillas. Even the chips and salsa are great!

I never had an issue with this place. This was my first time calling for a delivery. After giving them my credit card info, I received a phone call from I guess the driver because he didn’t even leave a voice mail. I did not know the phone number and did not pick up. 5 minutes later one of the workers calls me and tells me to confirm my address. I did. She tells me that the driver got robbed. Some people took his food away. Now they need to make a new order, and I have to go pick it up. I requested to cancel the order, because I did not have a way of getting to the store to pick up the food, hence why I requested for it to be delivered. I did not want the poor guy to go through another robbery, so I just canceled the order. The lady said she was going to cancel it right now as we were talking on the phone, and was going to credit the money back into my account. She said it will be quick. 15 minutes later, the money still isn’t in my account. She told me she had to tell her owner about it, and the owner said he will do it but he won’t come until 8pm. I made sure they have my phone number and my credit card number so I can get a call… I am very disappointed that no one called me to let me know about this. I didn’t know the protocol about cancelling an order was to talk to the order… I wouldn’t rate this 1 star if I had known…

Absolutely love this place!!! Steak tacos are delicious! Guacamole is perfect every time. Such nice people too. Finally delicious Mexican food at reasonable prices.

Super nice people serving authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. I am glad to see they are doing well and I stop in at least once a week. The kitchen and cooking area is really clean and the food is fresh. Now all that is left is for me to learn some more Spanish so I can understand those damn novellas they have on the TV! I’d definitely give an extra star if the seating area was spruced up a little more, but this is a great choice for Mexican in Throggs Neck.

I called in an order for Milanesa torta at lunchtime. Picked it up ten minutes later. It was delicious! A little steep for a sandwich. But would definitely go back and get it again. I love me a good torta.

I came across this restaurant on Unilocal,and realized I drive past this place every day. Decided to stop in here for lunch, and ordered the carnitas torta and a side of rice & beans. The food was amazing and affordable! Needless to say, the reviews on Unilocal were spot on!

Best Mexican food in town! Authentic. Delicious skirt steak, quesadilla, best guacamole. Service is so quick. Looking for Mexican food don’t go anywhere else.

Great food! Everything I eaten here I enjoyed! My husband and I come here when we want a quick bite to eat, at least once a week.

I’ve driven pass this place many times and while it looked intriguing I never went in as I don’t like to venture out into the white trash streets of TN alone. So to my delight my martial arts instructor friend suggested we stop in one night while driving in my car!
Let me tell you this place is amazing! The food is so freaking good! I really don’t think I’ve ever had Mexican food this great before. I seriously look forward to coming back and trying everything on the menu!

Taqueria Lupita on East Tremont Road in the Bronx. The food was banging, the people were extremely nice and awesome and they cooked for us even though they still had like twenty minutes before they were supposed to open. I like Mexican food all the time, even the morning. They have a lot of mexican sodas but I got peach diet snapple. I got a quesadilla con pollo and arroz con frijoles. brian got a chimichanga with spicy chicken. the food was wicked good, the portions large, and I would highly recommend this taqueria. They also had an «A» grade from the health department so that is a plus.
