Never again will I go to PEPBOYS . Made an appointment for 10am. Just needed new tires, oil change, and wipers. Stayed there more than four hours. 3 hours in and they hadn’t even put my car on the alignment rack. I was late for work.

Dishonest
I signed up on line for a $ 59 oil change (usually $ 69, but $ 10 off for signing up in advance); I have a Subaru which requires the more expensive synthetic oil. Most oil change places charge about $ 75, so this seemed like a good deal.
However, when I arrived at the store, with my coupon for the $ 59 service, Mike at the cash register told me that the $ 59 did not include the oil itself, and the actual price would be $ 102. When I protested — oil is ALWAYS included in the price — he offered me a «courtesy price» of $ 87, still way above what the on line promotion promised. When I asked to speak to a manager, he claimed to be the manager; if there was a (different) manager, that person was nowhere to be found.
I walked out and got the oil change elsewhere. I then called Pep Boys Customer Service, and spoke to Jorge, who took down the info, gave me a case number, and promised a follow up from the store within days. Three weeks later now, and nobody ever got back to me.

I came in for a price for brake work and front end problems. After waiting over and hr I recieved and outrageous estimate for over a thousand dollars for simple brake work and a motor mount. When I asked about my front end work they said everything was perfect. I immediately said no to work and got charged 30 $ for the estimate. The next day I took the car to my own mechanic and for the same work plus and axle in the front end where pep boys said everything was perfect for $ 900. By pep boys lying to my that the front end was ok It could have ended in disaster, and theN they still charged me for and estimate. OUTRAGEOUS

I was driving up I95 Sunday morning when I developed a flat tire. I pulled over and found that there was a Pep Boys facility a few miles away. After using a can of sealant, I was able to drive to the store. I was treated very respectfully and told that I might have a 45 minute wait. In less than 15 minutes my car was taken in. (Smart idea to deliver better service than promised.) A pleasant service technician immediately identified the problem as a small nail. He extracted it and patched the hole within a few minutes for about 20 bucks. He didn’t try to sell me a new tire! We were back on the road to Massachusetts quickly and had no further problems. We were very grateful to have stumbled across this shop and the reputable folks who we’re running it.

Major disappointment! I get called to the front desk. Kid tells me I need four tires. I said no. I stopped and asked him if he said FOUR? Kid nods yes. So, I drop the bomb. How could I need four tires when I blew one on the highway and had it replaced on warranty not more than two weeks ago? He smiled and said nothing. I told him to do the oil change and nothing more.
I feel sorry for those poor suckers out there that don’t know any better. What a disappointment! What happened to honesty and fair deals? Kid even tried to say he could show me and then tried to insinuate that the tire the dealer installed was used. The Tech and the Service Advisor would have had more than a few words about that! We all know the dealer is the biggest crook of all of them! Pep Boys, look at what you’re hiring!!!
IF I bring my car back, I’m going to watch you guys CLOSELY! But, seriously, I will do my damndest not to!

Do not ever buy tires from these people. They said they only had 3 out of 4 tires that were ordered… meanwhile we had received a call earlier in the day that all tires were there. Clearly they’re up to something since someone else wrote they did the same thing to them. They made us drive down there 3 tires because of their stupidity. The employees are very nice, but the manager, Miguel, is on another planet. Very unprofessional.

The only reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because they honored the online price for the tires I needed. However, they are not as reliable as I would’ve liked. I had a flat tire that needed to be replaced and I was planning to get new tires before the winter anyway. So I called before coming to make sure they had the tires in stock. I arrive and as I’m filling out the paperwork I was told they only had 3 out of the 4 tires. I needed to get the flat replaced so they installed the 3 tires and ordered the 4th one from another Pep Boys location to be delivered and installed the next day. I get here the next day in the afternoon, thinking that would be more than enough time and come to find out the tire was never delivered. I had to wait over an hour for the tire to arrive and be replaced. Very frustrating and unreliable!

Besides the limited parking (this IS an auto parts and service shop), service was exceptional! All the staff were helpful. I ordered tires and service online for a great discount and it didn’t transfer over completely, they were more than happy to honor it plus some!
The mechanics took me to my car to explain what he noticed (glazed rotors and worn pads) he even had me touch them to confirm the groves. I’m no dummy when it comes to brakes and stuff, I changed a few in my younger days, these were bad but he calmly explained and didn’t over exaggerated. Didn’t say I would be risking my life once I pulled off the lot — yeah some places do that, especially to females and older people and I’m a female with a head full of grey ;p.
I would suggest you order parts and service online first, it’s way cheaper. I saved over $ 200 doing it that way. I even ordered the brakes online while at the store and that saved me $ 100!
I would recommend!

I bought four tires six months earlier. I spent the $ 87 for Road Hazard. 5000 miles later we blew a tire out from our fault. It had to be replaced. Pep Boys replaced the tire, balanced it and only charged me $ 12.00.
Quick turn around and no hassle’s.

Although made appointment for 1:00pm when arrived told that it would be an hour before my car was looked at and the about 25 minutes for service. Was also took that would be called when service was done. Returned to shop after not receiving any phone call at 3:00pm and was told by mechanic that car was serviced awhile ago. When went to pay an get car, salesperson was unable to find my invoice. Then said salesperson was dismissive and left to deal with another client. However, another salesperson came to the rescue. He was able to help me by taking my payment and giving my keys. This man an the mechanic truly are the only reasons to come I this location and way I have this establishment a star.

Needed an oil change badly. Heard about this location from my cousin. I’m skeptical of these sorts of chains in general. However one employee can make all the difference. That employee was Rajeev Ramcharitar.
He got me in and out the door in under one hour. He ran NO games on me. He was consciousness, polite, and totally communicative. Will go back and recommend this location as long as he works there.

I came to change my four tires, I arrived at 12 noon, and walked out if the service area at 110pm complete with balancing and alignment. Raul was the Tech doing the work on my car and he was very careful with my rims and very genuine when it came to making recommendations.

I have been searching for a reputable shop to get my car checked and fixed. My friend recommended this Pep Boys and I am so glad I listened. Felix and Miguel were so friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions, were very honest about their services and worked with me to pace out my repairs. I am definitely coming here again.
