They take forever when it’s busy, even when it’s only moderately busy because the folks behind the counter are constantly yapping away. More working, less talking please!

I come here early for breakfast before work. The sandwhiches are great! this place is simple, the menu is minimal but that’s what makes it great. The ladies who make your food are also very nice & greeting.

Simple, but good! This was the first place I was taken when we landed in NY to grab some lunch. It closed in the middle of our trip for remodeling, so hopefully they’ve expanded their grill. Their sandwiches are simple, but delicious! We came by each day until the rehab. My girlfriend would order breakfast, but I was more than happy to have another hot sandwich instead. The ham and cheese was my favorite. The Cuban was ok, but being from Florida, I’ve had better. Theirs was a bit dry. I also enjoyed the salami and cheese. When you go in, the line is typically long. If you want just coffee or pastries, it’s quicker to order. Everyone waited for the grill. I really hope they expanded it because it was tiny! There must have been 4 or 5 people trying to work around it. I don’t know how they did it! A great local place. Stop in and give it a shot!

Great neighborhood spot. The have delicious breakfast sandwiches and inexpensive. As well as an array of baked goods. Just make sure you bring some patience because the line and wait will be long. The daily fresh baked bread will make it worth it.

I stumbled into this unassuming gem of a bakery purely by accident: while making a large donation next door at Dress for Success. By the time my business was finished there my two toddlers were yelling their heads off in hunger. Desperate, Pitusa was the only eat-in place within steps of my parked car. I grabbed the two wailing kiddoes and ran in, keeping my expectations low. There was a line but it moved quickly. I could see that the counter girls do not waste any time. I also realized this is a spanish-speaking bakery. So while waiting on line I hurriedly tried to remember any Spanish words from high school… over 20 years ago(~hy o why did I choose French?) So when it was our turn I started to stammer out a few greetings and the girl, obviously amused and annoyed by my shrieking 2 year old son, said«Yes? What do you want?» English, yay! I told her to give whatever she considers their best stuff. The girl put a Tres Leches cake, a whole wheat roll, a Cuban sandwich and another type of cake slice with a reddish filling. We sat down and OHMYGOODNESSWOW we were blown away. Absolutely delicious! The kids wolfed it all down and I got in a few bites when my hand dared to reach near their chomping jaws. Loved it so much that we are ordering two different cakes for upcoming events from them and freezing some of that fantastic bread. in fact, writing this woke my cravings and we’ll be headed down there tomorrow for lunch!

The breakfast is great and at such a good price. The cookies and baked goods are made fresh there. The place is always full with customers but the ladies that work there are quick. Great little bakery in The Bronx :)

Nothing screams childhood to me like«pan del bakery»(that’s Spanglish for bread from the bakery). It doesn’t matter where the bakery is in the South Bronx, warm fresh bread and strong sweet coffee are standard. I spent $ 11 for 2 salami & cheese pressed sandwiches, 2 buttered rolls, and 4 coffees. Their tres leches cake is also solid… you get a hulk of a slice, it’s moist(but not soaked like traditional tres leches), and it’s layered in custard cream.

I love everything about this place. The avena is awesome. The sandwiches are yummy and the tres leche cake is on point. Very moist and tasty.

You must try their tres leches, this one ranks in my top 2! Their cakes must be very good, in the short time it took me to devour my slice of tres leches in the shop, there had to be at least 10 people who stopped to buy a full size cake to take home. They have various flavors and you can also custom order.

Get the tres leches. Not typically made, better! Three layers of cake layered on top of thick cream, condensed milk, and evaporated milk filling. Finished with a perfectly sweetened whipped topping.

Bakery goods are very good. I had a cheesecake and flan. Very, very good. Definitely will be going back to try other things here. Definitely worth a visit. Makes me think twice about going to my own neighborhood bakery, which is walking distance and also very good. Definitely do not mind taking a 6min car ride to get my things here.

I just started working around here a few months ago. Here are the things you should know: –There is often a line. This is because this is one of the greatest places to eat in this neighborhood. –Their menu is limited for prepared food. They cook very few things. –The few things they cook are fucking great. Since I started going here for breakfast I have been ruined by this place, because I need to eat here every morning. Their fresh juices and shakes are the perfect start to your day, they use fresh ingredients and it’s only 3 bucks! Most mornings I do Papaya & Strawberry with ice or Papaya with milk, but they do vegetable juices too and they’re delicious, made fresh to order. I’m so used to places that tout fresh drinks cheaping you out on ingredients but this place is official. Take it from someone who worked for many years in restaurants: these girls know what they’re doing. They whisk eggs to order(no big vat of previously whisked eggs), they’re bacon is delicious and their bread… well, let’s just say there’s a reason they go through trays of it while you’re on line, always baked fresh and constantly racked throughout the day. They’re running all over the place around a tiny grill but they never ruin an order. Professionals all the way, and they should be praised. I typically go with a BEC on their awesome whole wheat rolls. The girls are cute and I think they make lighthearted fun of me because I always ask for a shake without sugar. If you work or live around here there is NO reason why you’re not eating here every day. I love it. And their Cubano is delectable and puts many to shame. Give them a nice tip, they deserve it.

My favorite thing here is the whole wheat bread with tuna fish. The best part is that they make this very special, very delicious, one of a kind whole wheat bread that melts in your mouth. They cook their eggs to perfection. Go there for breakfast or lunch and you’ll leave smiling! The cakes and pastries are awesome. They are always super busy, but super quick and service is very friendly. Two thumbs up!!!

Pitusa is a great place for breakfast. Great spanish coffee, classic bread with butter. It’s the reason why I gained 30lbs. I used to work very close to there.

Crowded early mornings. I go there once in a while for my coffee and bread. Good stuff(their Cuban sandwich rocks!). But I’d steer clear from their cakes, or inspect for freshness. I bought a birthday cake for this kid a couple of years back. The cake wasn’t fresh.

The freshly made juices are awesome. Pastries and desserts as well. Don’t go there if you are in a rush cause most of the time there’s a line, specially early mornings. Staff is people friendly.

Small bakery. The staff is very friendly and talkative. Whenever I go its always packed with people getting their coffee and cake. They also have a selection of sandwiches if you go there for lunch.
