This is the neighborhood diner you want to love, even though it isn’t perfect. Great, friendly service. Part of the community for ever. And great pancakes. We have only stopped by once, but it already felt comfortable — as if we had been coming for years. I had the Lumberjack, my wife ordered grilled cheese and homefries, but received frenchfries instead. No biggie. Except that we couldn’t eat them — they were bitter. My pancakes and eggs were great. The sausage was not. Bacon was ok. In short, if they change the oil in the fryer, we’ll come back often.

Customer service was great. But $ 8.95 for only a grilled chicken sandwich? Way to expensive.

Still giving five stars. Because for what it is, it is great. I dislike the home fries here. Omelettes are standard. Food is so quick to come out. Carrot cake is good here. :)

Terrible!!! It is the only place 24⁄7 so you only eat there if you don’t want mcdonalds ! The food is really crappy diner food.

The food was ok. Nothing really special about this place. The meatloaf tasted very bland, the service was average. Just a little disappointed.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Love that they are 24⁄7 and it’s been like that forever. The burgers are amazing and can’t get enough of their fries.

The cheesecake is this place is fantastic! Always order it for my desert. The menu has a lot of food, and it’s open 24 – 7 which is always great. the customer service is ok, they do just mostly have more person taking orders and doing to much at once which I feel bad but she always friendly. Not her fault her boss is greedy and doesn’t want to hire more service.

Old fashioned diner. Tons of choices in food. Very friendly. The cream cheesecake was awesome. Nothing fancy but a great neighborhood diner.

The owner of this eating establishment is greedy! Where do I get started on how they fail miserably on so many levels? You should serve your customer on a first come basis, not what makes you more money. Also they have just one waiter running the place. How do you expect one person to take phone orders and to wait on tables? One end of the business will suffer. Yes, they care more about take out orders than of the customers that walk though the door. One piece of advice, hire another person! One person to take care of the back, phone orders and register, and one to wait on tables. That way your poor employee be won’t overwhelmed running back and forth, but you don’t seem to care, do you? The food it self isn’t bad, but there’s so much room for improvement. Especially when it comes to customer service.

The food is good. I specifically love the spinach pie and Greek salad. I’ve always ordered out, but decided to eat in the other day and I am really disappointed now. The waitress didn’t seem clean, my fork was dirty with dried up nasty food and when I got my salad it had a hair in it. Unfortunately I will never be able to eat at this place again.

2−½ stars. Typical diner food — large menu. Breakfast served all day. The staff was friendly and prompt — though we were only one of two tables filled at lunch time. I got a cheddar omelet, which came with home fries and toast, and a side order of bacon. The presentation made my OCD go haywire since the omelet was on the bottom of the plate, the home fries were all over the top of the omelet, then the bacon on top of the home fries. After dividing everything up properly, the bacon and home fries were decent and the omelet was delicious. Overall, decent, but not the greatest ever.

If you are ever in the neighborhood, steer clear of this place. I have given this place a few tries prior to writing the review. But my last experience with this place was the final nail in the coffin. The Resturant itself is very dated. The general crowd we had seen in most of our visits varied but Ina the year we have lives in this neighborhood have never seen it even remotely«busy». Food here is mediocre and lacks any subsequent«flare» that would make you want to come running back. The service the first few times was rather careless– our server often times not bothering to even come over until we flagged her down. Prices are typical of a diner, generally reasonable considering the lack of quality of the product. Now our first – and last – experience with their delivery services. When I first called I was transferred and put on hold a few times. The woman who finally took my order couldn’t give me a total because«they were very busy». Over and hour later we received our order, only to find they charged me $ 40 for a burger, two soggy sandwiches, and cold fries. When I called to ask why the order was so expensive they told me there were«up charges» for just about every condiment on the order. Ridiculous!

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for over 18 years and I can count on two hands the number of times I’ve been at the Rainbow. There was another diner 15 years ago called Six Brothers which was Great! Since they have closed, Rainbow is the greasy spoon diner left behind. The service is acceptable and food is edible. Best in a pinch at 2:00 am after a night out. It’s the only eatery open 24 hours in the neighborhood.

Don’t go there because waitress and owner treated me unequally because I am deaf. Waitness seemed unfriendly, inpatient and ingored my order for breakfast. Unable to have communication with me. Three hours I’ve been waiting for my order. I tried to explain the owner but he kept speaking to me I didn’t understand and he made me to pay for coffee but not meal I ordered for breakfast. I was like WTF? I told him take out my meal for out because I didn’t want stay there that unfriendly place.

Love the Seinfeld diner feel and the Belgian waffles. Kind of upset that they don’t carry strawberries ATALL! Once I brought on my own bc they just refuse to buy them. Plus it’s extra for refill on coffee and little dollops of whip cream. Usually I just get the waffle to go and put the fixins on at home. Lets step into 2013 just a tad please!

It’s so funny. Outside of the city, I’m always complaining that all the diners are those repetitive Greeky ones with the exact same menu. But in my neighboorhood, I started complaining that there wasn’t just a classic 24-hour Greeky diner. Some people, right? I must have passed Rainbow Diner a million times. I just assumed it was a crappy restaurant. Even after Joe told me the menu looked ok, I wasn’t interested. But this morning we decided to give it a try, and were super pleasantly surprised! The guy behind the counter was seating us before the door had even closed behind us. The waitress was sweet as sugar. Our food was out so fast, it actually was the only thing that gave me pause. There’s no way you can cook eggs that quickly. But everything was tasty! Rainbow Diner is a great classic diner. I will always have a soft spot for the Lydig, but they’re cash only and have limited hours. Now I have a place just as good, but I can get my late-night eggs and pay with a card. Whoo!

Lived in the neighborhood all my life and I never looked twice at this place. It wasn’t until my dad and I randomly stopped by that I noticed how good it was. The food is good, prices are good. It has a family feel to it. Decent delivery time as well. Try it out!

Ehhhh… nothing special about Rainbow. Besides the large flat screen tv playing CNN, the rest of this diner needs an update and behind the counter by the register could use a cleaning. Overall, its a cool spot if you’re drunk and don’t care.
