New management and boy can you tell!!! The restaurant has much less on their menu now, and the quality of food has decreased SIGNIFICANTLY. My family and I have been coming here for YEARS for awesome diner food. Their deluxe burger fries were AWESOME… now… I rather go to Jimbo’s, I’ll probably get a more flavorful burger. I’m heartbroken to whatever has happened to the RC.

The end of an era… I’ve literally been going to the coach my whole life. I’ve gone three time under the new management so I can form a solid opinion. Just no ! Service was much slower(I waited upwards of 35 minute for eggs and my order was incorrect and cold), and they close now. Huh? A diner that closes. The food didn’t do it for me though. #RIP #thediner

First time coming here I actually didn’t want to come here but I’m glad I did the food came fast and the place was nice a clean. I got 3 stack pancakes with scramble eggs and bacon with home fries. The pancakes were delicious and the homes fries were good my sister got the burger she said it was dry, probably because she got it well done and my boyfriend got corn beef hash with eggs and toast and my nephew got buffalo wings with fries. All like the food. Nice to know this spot has good food with out breaking the bank.

Was pleasantly surprised. Diner had a facelift and food was good. Seems to be under new management a must needed change. Bathrooms very clean. Seafood was incredible. Will be back very soon.

Priced too high for unappealing, tasteless food. Never go to a diner where the wait staff is younger than you.

They switched management and didn’t notify anyone but you can clearly taste the difference. Everything just tastes horrible. Don’t waste your time and the staff there is incompetent

I visited yesterday, I ordered my usual french toast, bacon, n eggs. It appears to be under new management; the french toast was nasty, they use a different ‘bread’ with an excessive amount of cinnamon. My husband had his usual burger and the bread was different n not pleasing. They served it with mini whole pickles instead of the usual nice thin sliced ones. At no point did the waiter care to ask if we were ok or wanted more coffee, nothing of that nature; prior to this visit the waiters were always friendly and approached us many times to make sure we didn’t need anything. We are now searching for another diner to go to, definitely not going back here again.

I used to visit Royal Coach ALL the times and at ALL types of times as they used to stay ope 24⁄7. The food USED to be great. My lil sis and I recently visited and we were sooo disappointed. The menu was totally revamped and NOT for the better. I used to love their buffalo wings, now they are dry and tasteless. The new owners messed up what used to be a Gem in the Bronx. I doubt I will be returning anytime soon. It is over priced and the fook quality and portions have dropped. It’s truly a crying shame. I’ve been going to RC for over 2o+ years and it was nice while it lasted. Unfortunately its true what they say.“good things dont’t last forever” R.I.P Royal Coach. Maybe newer owners will buy out the currents ones and give us back the Royal Coach most loyals loved.

Good 24hr dining. It looks like they diversified the menu to fit a more Latino, Caribbean crowd which may pay off. However, I usually come for a burger and they changed the bread which I didn’t like to much but the pattie is still fat and juicy. Sangria was poor and service was pretty slow. Overall 3 stars.

Nasty, nasty, nasty, I went in there recently to get a slice of cheesecake to go, it used to be really good. I put it in the refrigerator to have the next day with dinner. When I opened their carry out container it smelled a bit ripe, when I bit into it the cheesecake was sour. Ugh… Too bad this used to be a decent place to eat. Under the new Mgmt the burgers are smaller, the lights are brighter, and the employees look miserable. The previous Mgmt did a decent job building the diner up to today’s standards. There are so few decent diner choices on this side of the BX, now there is one less.

Stopped by for breakfast recently and was pleasantly surprised. The place got a facelift! Looks very nice, even a bit more spacious, bathroom was clean. Now, breakfast was great! Food was fresh, coffee was good and service was nice. Our bill was cheaper than our recent visit to riverdale diner(also updated review). we left completely satisfied! Kudos!

Came here today after eye surgery! This diner really is royal. My two daughters and myself were greeted and seated immediately. Both water and menus appeared as if by magic. The food came within 5 minutes. My corned beef hash was fresh and not heated up out of a can. Also the Orange juice was real not sunny delight as some diners give you and in a good size glass. All in all a wonderful breakfast experience.

Appearance wise– it is very nice. Much more of a higher end diner in the bronx. The food is pretty good, their fries are great. Portions are good too, but it is a little too loud. It is also a little pricey for a diner. I had an alcoholic drink here, I believe it was a margarita & well their was wayyy too much alcohol in it. Would return here but very selectively.

Visited the Royal Diner, February 11th around 2pm. First time here. The diner has a clean presence… The service was basic. I ordered French toast with 2 fried hard eggs and a Earl grey tea. I was served under cooked French toast that was more like toast dipped in egg batter without cinnamon and scrambled eggs with green tea. The waitress clearly was not paying attention. The food here was terrible — I will not dine at the Royal Diner again nor will I recommend it.

Came here for brunch with my mom on a Saturday. It’s pretty convenient that they have their own private parking lot. We were seated quickly, but our food took forever to come out. I ordered a western egg white omelette. They dropped a slice of my toast so they brought another set much quicker. It’s a pretty average diner, but the Bronx probably doesn’t have as many of these kinds of places as NJ.

This is my first time at this place. We ventured here from Woodlawn in search of some good diner food. The fries and salad were probably the best I’ve had in a long time. This place would be 5 stars if the service was better. Waiter never brought us our drinks. We’re quite thirsty at the moment…

I don’t usually edit my reviews. But this time, editing my 5 stars rating was needed to let other patrons know the current quality of service of this establishment. It’s sad to say that Royal Coach’s service and quality of food«slipped off». This place used to be my fave spot in the Bronx for breakfast, but today’s experience left much to be desired. The service was slow. Here’s the timing: To place our order: 15 minutes(we closed our menus after 5 minutes as a signal) To receive our beverages: additional 10 minutes. To receive our lukewarm food: 20 minutes. To receive our toasts after we’ve already eaten halfway through our meal: 10 minutes. I’ll have to find another Bronx diner to make my breakfast«spot».

Having visited Royal Coach Diner with my mom a few years back, I figured I would give it a try again one Sunday morning when my fiancé and I were looking for a place to have breakfast. Once we arrived we were promptly seated, even though there were plenty of people coming in and out of the restaurant. Our waitress was initially nice and receptive, but there was a mix-up that made what would’ve been an otherwise pleasant meal kind of awkward. For religious and personal reasons, my fiancé does not eat meat, but especially not pork. He ordered the vegetable omelet, even going as far as asking the waitress about what types of vegetables were in it. There was no confusion about which omelet he wanted. However, once the food arrived we realized there was ham all over his omelet. Once we brought it to our waitress’ attention she promptly had another omelet made, and the wait wasn’t too long at all. What was awkward though was that when we received our check it clearly said Western omelet rather than vegetarian. We assumed that the waitress probably clicked the wrong item when putting in the order(which is an innocent mistake) but she had made it seem to us like it was an issue in the kitchen. Other than this mishap, the breakfast was good. I’d definitely go back at some point for breakfast because their omelets and home fries are decent, but I’m not too sure about any other meal.

It’s hard to believe I hadn’t been to this diner until recently since it’s super accessible to me. Like many of my new dining adventures, I heard good things about this diner and decided to try it for myself. Walking in, the décor was very nice — it’s super clean and spacious. There are dark wood tones along with deep reds and silver chrome throughout the dining room. The staff was somewhat friendly and attentive, but it’s a diner so you can’t expect 5-star service; it’s comparable to other diners in the Bronx. Like most diners, the menu is extensive and they have a good selection of almost everything. The food is good, a slight step above other diners I’ve been to which makes it stand out amongst its peers. Their fries in particular are great — they’re extra crispy(like twice fried) and definitely worth it to get them when you’re here. There are a few diners to choose from in the Bronx, and the Royal Coach is one of the better ones I’ve been to.
