Ordered the Shrimp and Fries… DID not taste good at all, the shrimp had no flavor and was not cooked well. In the past this place was awesome dont know what happened, or if it was just the time i went. But i wont be going back here.

I’m still a fan of Johnnys reef after going here. We went there as a little family get together and it wasn’t at all what I expected. One there very pricey, two the food has no taste and there portions don’t match the price. The seafood platter is worth the money and can feed up to three people depending on how much u eat. The drinks are pricey to but they are strong as heck. So that’s worth it. Other then that, I will be back at Johnnys reef this summer coming up

What can I say? Tony’s Pier has been around for a long time and it’s no secret why. Shrimp and fries with some oysters! Can’t go wrong. I suggest going early in the week to avoid traffic and parking hurdles.

Great place to get seafood. Low key and focused on relaxed atmosphere. I practically live there however the last time the fried fish was a bit weird. It had a strange texture

Come HUNGRY. Portions here are huge! If you don’t like grease and fried foods, you may not want to come here. I ordered the broiled salmon in an attempt to be somewhat healthy, but it was slathered in oil, and the corn was swimming in butter. The food was eh. I found myself salting everything. And the giant portion sizes were a bit of a turn-off for me. The place is huge with a casual atmosphere — small bar, some arcade games, outdoor seating. I suppose it’s a good place to come hang out with a big group of friends but not so good for a nice sit-down dinner. Nothing about this place really made me say«wow» to be honest!

Soooo every time I go to city island I’m torn between Johnny’s or Tony’s pier, today I decided on Tony’s. I love the broiled seafood here. The shrimp, lobster tails even the fish, but If I’m going fried I prefer Johnny’s. Tony’s on Friday, Saturdays and Sunday’s are pretty packed, the lines are usually very long but they move pretty quick. There are two lines, one for broiled food and the other for fried. They also have an arcade area for the kids and a full bar that serves good drinks at a decent price. The outside deck is nice as you can enjoy your food and drinks while taking in the view of the Long Island sound on a nice summer day/night. Oh and they only accept cash… but they do have an ATM …

We can all agree that it’s not the same as before. HOWEVER, I picked up take out the other day for Sunday afternoon football at home. I ordered Snow Crab Legs dinner platter & fried shrimp. I noticed other crab dinners being packed up to go contained King Crab legs(not one the menu). I paid $ 57 for Fried Shrimp, Baked Clams & King Crab Legs($ 27 !). I couldn’t believe it. No other sit down restaurant will give you that much food for that amount. It was a hit at home and we are going to try to get take out from here at least once a month. Everything was good but I still miss the old fried shrimp before the renovation.

Everything I come here I am pleased. Their shrimps are delicious & carb legs are freaking awesome. I’m not fan of their French fries but their piña coladas are the best. The staff is very friendly & funny. The outside dinning area is better the across the street. They have a cap thing to block the sun & birds. You can still feel the nice air of the salt water. They have arcade games inside as well for the younger crowd. Bathrooms are always clean too & the kitchen looks very clean as well. This is the best place for a quick run for seafood

I know what you’re thinking: «oh cool! A bunch of friend seafood and OH! Corn on the cob! Salad! You can’t possibly mess that up!» WRONG. This place is one word: appalling. I thought City Island was good for its seafood… absolutely not the case at this joint. The corn on the cob was MUSH. I’m not even joking, it tasted like it had been soaked in boiling water overnight. I couldn’t take more than two bites because it didn’t even taste like corn anymore! Also it came dripping in a soup of butter! BARF. And the little side salad… I think the dressing they heave on top is thousand island? Tasted like a thousand island dressing from a thousand miles away from earth. Check out the photo I posted of the fried fish, which my boyfriend ordered. According to him, it was extremely tasteless and just tasted like fried crap. He hardly could finish even one piece. The worst part about all this? Our total for a corn on the cob and fried fish… almost $ 20. Oh, not to mention this place is so disorganized and you need to order specific things in specific locations. GRRRRRR. DONOTCOMEHERE. This place is neither cute nor fun. Nor delicious.

I used to go to Tony’s with my family as a kid and I remember the food being great. I was always excited to return. However that was not the case this last time. The line to order the food was confusing and there were moments that people were ready to explode. It was like they were moving cattle through. I ordered the fried shrimp and fries and the crab cakes and fries. When we got the food the cole slaw was hot because it was packed under the fried food, terrible idea. The shrimps were not bad but the crab cakes were HORRIBLE. the crab meat was extremely mushy and the soda drinks were so watered down. It was one of the most disappointing eating experiences I have had in years.

To me this will always be a great place. Brings me memories of when I use to come here as a child with my mom and now I can make those memories for my child! I have always loved their shrimps that keep the same constant great taste throughout the years. The piña colada is very good too. This place can get very crowded on weekend summer nights so expect to be on the line for 15 mins at least if you go on those nights. Prices are affordable and overall they keep a clean facility.

Not really a romantic date spot. Order at the counter pay before you dine, noisy, crowded bustling city island restaurant. Can dine in theres plenty of picnic styled tables. Fried lobster, porgie and fried shrimp were amazing. Perfectly cooked and the tarter sauce was the best I’ve had at any restaurant. I know it’s essentially mayo and relish but good tarter sauce is good tarter sauce. My aunt had the whiting she loved it. Service isn’t the best. Grouchy, impatient probably overworked middle aged man took our order. He was annoyed with all my questions and us asking about substitutions which he didn’t mind charging for. Nothing special about the fries or tostones. The mojo de ajo served with the tostones was good. Overall I would go again, I’d take the food to go though.

Many of my New York buddies have been telling me to visit city Island. Finally made the trek up to the Bronx and I wasnt let down. I wasn’t blown away. But I wasnt let down… The operation of this restaurant was very fast from order to sitting. Come with cash. They only accept cash but an ATMis available. The price was what you expect for seafood. The staff was OK. Restaurant was clean.

Omg! Never been here before on a Sunday… now I know why! The lines were mega long. Got here around 3pm didn’t get my food until 3:40pm. There were no seats so I had to eat in my car. At least my food was hot and good. Very tasty.

The seafood combo for 30 bucks is huge! It can easily serve 3 people or 1 really hungry man! Lol The fried flounder filet was bland. But everything else I tried was delicious. I would recommend getting the soft shell crab or the fried lobster! Yum! The Red Devil drink was really strong and definitely worth every penny. The sangria was sweet and light if you’re looking for something fruity with a tiny kick. Place gets packed but the lines move quick, just hate that there is a separate line for everything! Seating indoor and out.

This is a very popular spot. Known for the strong drinks and amazing seafood. I Came here with a large group of friends I had been waiting for the spring weather to start getting nice to sit outside and enjoy some much needed seafood. We ordered so much food ! I split the fried seafood combo & an extra order of shrimp with my fiancé it was a huge silver pan full of fried fish, shrimp, clams, scallops calamari & French fries omg it was so much food we couldn’t even finish we were defeated lol. They also give you 2 cups of salad an order of French fries with every order & plenty of tarter sauce. This was def a feast I couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day I was completely stuffed ! I recommend you get here earlier in the day after 4pm it’s very hard to get a seat inside or outside !

Tony’s is a very old and well established seafood spot at the end of city island. Although historically they havn’t been able to compete with their rival johnies across they street they are a great alternative since johnies is closed during the winter. They’ve renovated the place since the old one burnt down and the new place is very spacious and clean with a bar and outside seating. Plenty of parking as well. Side note * they’re drinks are through the roof expensive. 12 dollars for a henny colada out of a small clear plastic cup.

13 dollars raw oyster is a steal!!! And for the quality of food, you must visit here! My friend and I came to Tony’s after school one night to satisfy my oyster cravings. While checking out the menu, I noticed that the raw oyster is cheaper compare to the rest of the restaurants surrounding City Island. Blue Points are $ 7 for half a dozen and 13 for a dozen. so I went ahead and ordered… After a few minutes, the friendly guy behind the counter presented a beautiful plate of Plump and Juicy Blue Points… Yummy! On the side, it was a mini cup of marinara sauce, another mini cup of hot sauce, some horse radish, and couple wedges of fresh lemon. I giddily sat myself down and went for the first score. Bingo! Exactly what i was looking for, not too briny, but it was juicy, plump and succulent! Hmmm. It was heaven on earth… As I let the sweetness of the oysters engross my pallate, I slowly washed it down with a sip of Sauv Blanc to balance the elements. Man, for 13 $ a dozen, it was the best 13 $ I’ve ever spent. Go see for yourself.
