Nice neighborhood hardware store with friendly helpful staff. Ashamed that this type of a store is what has been put out of business across the country by Home Labrynth… or I mean Depot

Small but definitely a useful resource for the majority of home repair needs when you don’t feel the need to take a car ride up to the Home Depot in Westchester. They service is friendly and the owner has been there for so long he is a staple of the community, a wealth of information, and a very friendly guy willing to chat you up.

This is a small hardware store but it’s packed with a lot of stuff, and they have good prices.
We bought a bunch of stuff and they gave us a discount, but when we needed to return one of the items because it wasn’t the right size, they removed the discount from our return. In other words, we paid something like $ 60 for an item but got about $ 50 back. I’ve never, ever heard of a return policy like that. So, if you buy something expensive or get a discount, make sure you know what the return policies are.
And yes, I did try to get them to explain the policy clearly, but after about three minutes of arguing I just gave up. This is the kind of place where receipts are handwritten and it helps to be male.
