Wise Hardware

It’s so useful to have a nice (and non-​chain) hardware store nearby. Our realtor gave us a gift certificate here and when I brought it in the guy just wrote on the back how much I spent. Another example of me feeling like Dorothy. You’re not in NYC anymore Jess!
The hardware store sent someone to change our locks and we needed one lock entirely replaced. It was so expensive but I guess a necessity when buying a new house. The guy was so nice and talked me through what I wanted him to do given my cluelessness about what he was doing (I want one key to open all these doors and this deadbolt sucks so do I have any options there?).
I will definitely treat this place as my go to for small items. Not sure about big things like a snow blower or lawn mower. Sometimes the chain stores win, oof.

I’ve been coming here for a few months now and it is such a breath of fresh air from being stuck in bowels of certain home repair limbo, I mean a certain depot for home goods that will remain nameless. Instead of having to chase someone down who could possibly maybe sort of help me find the person who could maybe help me… its different at this local hardware store. I enter the store and within 2 minutes someone has come up to me and asked if I needed help, and generally solve my problem within 5 minutes and I’m on my way with exactly what I need (not a box of nails when I only need 1 or 2 because «thats how they sell them» or a pipe saw I’m only going to use once) finishing my project shortly thereafter.
Wise has converted me shopping at the local hardware stores from now on, my final bill may be a few dollars more than if I went to a certain big box store but I save so much time both shoping and completing my projects that I think it is completely worth it.
I’d highly recommend giving this place a shot if you need help with a d.i.y home repair project.

Excellent source for anything you need for small home repair projects… guys behind the counter are very helpful and knowledgeable.
