There are so many good things to say about Coals it is difficult to know where to start. How about the most important; the outstanding service. We had the same waitress each time we dined at Coals(forgot her name) and she is amazing. Her boisterous personality and friendly attitude make you feel so welcome, even on your first visit. I say first because you will no doubt be back for more. The baked wings are the best wings we have tasted in Westchester. The right amount of crunch and oozing with flavor but not grease. The specialty pies are mouth watering. We have tried a few and do our best to try a new one each time. We have seen several burgers and are eager to try one of those as well. I think the duck fat bacon might also be on our list. So much to try but only so much you can eat at once. BUT… there is ALWAYS room for the nutella pizza. Just OMG. That’s all we can say. Even when we are stuffed we can’t leave without it. When you go here you have to order it.

Wow. Thin crust pizza heaven! Go with friends so you can order each pizza they offer. The Margherita pizza,(always order this as it is a benchmark for pizza) is exquisite! The Rustic with roasted mushroom and truffle oil is Devine! Guys will love Dean Martin, not those little circle of pepperoni but sandwich pepperoni. Be sure to leave room for dessert. Nutella on pizza. Need I say more? Yes! One option serves it with mascapone! Heard the burgers are great too. Salad great portion. Offer free wifi! And fab beer selection!

This is my new favorite place to get pizza in the area. Nice little bar with a selection of various craft beers.

Nice thin crust pizzas and good service for a mid week late evening. Enjoyed it and willing to try again. Nice beer options. Worth a try.

We like this place for lunch. A little overrated for dinner in my opinion for the price and atmosphere. They are known for their burger though and it is as good as people say it is. Seems to always have large groups which makes it very loud and very hard to get into on weekend nights. The salads are very good and a very large portion.

My wife and I just had lunch at coals. Let me start with the staff they were very friendly and attentive. The Brussel sprouts were amazing as was the pizza, the crust was so thin you could almost see through it, and the flavor was awesome. Now onto my favorite part they have a very nice selection of craft beers on tap as well as cans and bottles. the selection of beers was fairly extensive for a relatively small place, you must try Coals without a doubt.

I went here because they were rated by LOHUD as best burger in Westchester for 2015 in June. Even though it’s known for the Pizza(I haven’t tried it yet) the burger was FANTASTIC! Served with duck bacon, which I ordered well done with vermont aged cheddar-really really good. They also have a great selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles. The staff is super friendly. I’m definitely going back to check out their pizzas and have some more crafts.

just had a very nice lunch. service was just fine and the food was terrific. three of us split a «pure bliss» pizza and it was excellent… very thin crust, very nice toppings, perfectly applied. all had burgers and they were also very good and cooked as ordered. saw some other pizzas that look good, too. will definitely be back… but parking can be a challenge.

First time visit with friends. The place is cute, small and was empty on a Monday early evening. Pizza was fabulous, ultra thin crust, no burnt bottom that seems to be popular in our trendy pizza places — just enough cheese and sauce. We had Margherita and a Bliss pizza and the fluffernutta pizza desert was omg delicious. Also had salad — generous portion nicely dressed — the only complaint service was a bit slow and we were the only people there — hopefully they pick up the speed on a busy night — excellent meal — definitely check it out — it’s on our list of favorites

Delicious everything — seriously, their Pure Bliss could not have a truer name. Their wings and Brussel Sprouts — amazing. The food is top notch and worth every penny. I took a star off because my husband and I asked to sit outside when it was warmer, and the couple next to us were obnoxiously loud and had their new puppy with them… at the end of the night, I knew more about that dog than I wanted to. Then a waitress came out and was even louder and more obnoxious about the dog than the owners. My husband and I could not hear eachother, at all, so we just didn’t talk. I own a dog, I love dogs, but we were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was pretty annoying. Luckily, they left before us. Having said that, we will of course be back, just maybe indoors this time :)

Great thin like pizza. Some really great toppings. We can eat a whole pie(or two) and not feel over stuffed. The Brussels sprouts as a start are also Delish!

The food is amazingly good. The pizzas are the best I’ve had in a long time. But god the service is horrible. I’ve gone 3 times now and sat at the bar and ordered a pizza and every time the bartenders are either looking at their phone or talking to the wait staff at the end of the bar. Who are also looking at their phones. The owner needs to have a no phone on the floor policy and maybe they would get better reviews about service.

This would have been 5 stars if it was just based on the pizza which was very, very good(we ordered the Margarita and the Must-Have). We did not have dessert but it looked good. So here’s why it’s only 3 stars: 1. It was freezing in there. I mean sweater, jacket, scarf on while you eat freezing. I asked if they could tone down the AC and they said they would close the door but nothing changed the entire meal. 2. Long, long wait to be served the actual meal. Being seated was quick as was the placing of the order but the pizza took a very long time to come and since we didn’t order apps(we wanted our tummies to give the pizza it’s undivided attention) it felt like an eternity just sitting there with nothing to pick on(an olive dish or something small would have been nice. Bread though would be too much). 3. LOUD. I could not hear my bf the entire time. There was a lot of huh? what? I can’t hear you… to the point where we just shut up and ate… and it was worth it, even the ringing in our ears when we left. So in summary: Awesome(but expensive) brick oven, crispy crust pizza that might be best if taken out/home to eat or maybe in their outdoor area which looked nice(too bad it’s like 56 in June!). I can’t comment on the bar area but it looked ok. We used to like the Station House and miss it at times as it was much more inviting to eat there but their food was definitely not on par with this(just ok wraps and burgers etc.). We’ll definitely order from there again but not eat inside.

I came to this place for the first time tonight and instantly became a fan. I was able to enjoy the Mixed Olives appetizer and had a few of the spicy grilled chicken wings(I wish they were spicier! haha) and the Vegan pizza. First off if you like pizza, I highly recommend this place since they make fresh pizza made-to-order. Second of all, if you are a health nut like me and do not really eat at places like this check out the Vegan pizza. It is a light bread topped with hummus and veggies instead of the classic tomato sauce and cheese. This is a great dinner spot for families looking to have a quick meal with fast and good service.

Wow really good pizza. The Wings are to die for. We put the crispy Brussels sprouts on the wing sauce, wow delicious! Service was super quick, friendly. We will definitely come here again

I’ll begin by saying that the food is incredible. We started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was fantastic. The walnuts, raisins, and cheese really complement the bitterness of the sprouts. My partner ordered a beer to drink and I stuck with water. We ordered the special which had ricotta, mozzarella, grana padano, sweet onions, and homemade pancetta. We had long dry spells during which time we had to flag someone down for water refills and although my partner ordered a second beer, the empty glad wasn’t cleared. We came early in the evening on a Saturday. When we arrived we were among about a dozen people in the whole place. Our server, Christine, was awful. We frequently had to ask others for more water and my partner actually had to get up and walk into the other room to ask a server in there for dessert and our check. I wanted to leave but we came in large part due to a friend’s recommendation that we try the fluffernutter so he didn’t want to leave without it. Our server was in the same room as us the entire time, in the back corner speaking with a family seated back there. I’m not sure whether they were regulars or people she knew personally, but it was quite apparent that they seemed to be the only people she was paying attention to in the dining room. A 5:15 seating at a pizza joint shouldn’t end ninety minutes later. We tried, fruitlessly, to get her attention multiple times but it never worked. She seemed much more focused on other people. In summation the kitchen is on point, the location and décor are great, but the service left me feeling so unimportant that I will never return.

I like a very charred crust so I like the style of pizza here. You have to be aware of the style you are getting into. The problem arises from the fact that all the pizzas on the menu are extremely similar to one another. A pizza place should have a few distinguishable signature pies. Virtually all apps and sides are grilled as well so it can get old quickly, but the brussels sprouts are delicious and a must try. The beer selecion is very weak. 6 – 8 taps and not a single pilsner to wash a few slices down with. Its all IPA and craft beer which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine if there is no balance. Bill — not sure of a better way to message you. I had the pils, its hoppy. Too hoppy for pizza, and too similar to the other IPA’s that were on tap. from the website — Everything we love about classic German Pilsner with a hoppy Bohemian twist.

Tried this place after a friend recommended it. We started with the Ceasar Salad which was shared by 3 but I easily could have eaten the whole plate myself as a lunch. The lettuce was crispy, not drowning in dressing. You can tell the ingredients were fresh and the dressing was perfectly done, and it came with these toastd garlic bread pieces not croutons, which made this salad unique as well as delicious. We then had the Marlon and the Pure Bliss. They were both great in their own way. The cheese combination on the Bliss was heaven but ask for the crust to be extra well done as the wetness from the ricotta made it seem less crispy. It was still delicious, regardless. For dessert we had the Fluffernutter. If you like Nutella you will not be disappointed with this desert. This is a thin crust place. If you’re looking for traditional thick pizza keep on keeping on . My only complaint was the waitress wasn’t very attentive. She seemed preoccupied. But that won’t stop me from returning. The food was too good. The place is on the small side but there was no wait when we got there even though thr dining room wss packed on a Friday night at 645. And because the menu is limited, there is no long wait for the food. They have a full bar area and craft beers on tap. The atmosphere was welcoming, unlike other Bronxville place I’ve been. Bronxville has a tendency to cater to «locals only» Coals does not give off that vibe. I think i found my new favorite place.

Pizzana can only be achieved by experiencing Coals pizza for yourself… several times. It’s not easy to reach Pizzana, but it can be done if you begin with«Heaven Scent» and transcend into«Pure Bliss». However, you must have«Must Have» before you can truly understand that eating the pizza at Coals will completely extinguish your need to ever eat any other pizza — EVER. City dwelling believers can rejoice as Coals, which closed its original Bronx outlet, has opened a location slightly closer to the City in upscale Bronxville. All I can say is, «OMMMMM…it’s good.»
