Went there on a Monday after a long day at work for sushi to go. When I arrived home I noticed the temperature of the sushi wasn’t quite right but assumed it could have been the 10 minute drive home. The next day I couldn’t eat or drink anything and was laying in bed under 4 blankets(also sweating like a cow). Did I mention I ran to the bathroom for. Shall I say multiple reasons? Went to my doctor then sent to the hospital with 103 degree fever. They treated me for food poisoning until I was steady to head home. When I called the restaurant manager he asked for the emergency room I went to and my name so he could call and verify(which is illegal because of HIPPA but whatever floats his boat). He also asked if I could come in. How can I come in when I lost 7 pounds and haven’t walked more than a few feet in 5 days? I have never been in so much pain in my life. Anyway, they gave a mediocre gift certificate and insisted it was better than a refund. as if I would return for another batch of hell spewing out of me. I understand they are all independently owned but the manager/owner/proprietor of the Bronxville location was disappointing. My family has owned a restaurant in Greater NY area and have always been more than generous in these types of situations. Granted, these things do happen but should NOT happen. Had the manager not given an insulting certificate value there’s a slight chance I would have returned. Also, I suggest Unilocal give the option for negative stars. I would negative star the crap out of this location. White plains is the BEST and most fresh out of all Haiku locations. Save the trip to both the doctor and ER. Your body will thank you. Also, the manager of Bronxville Haiku should not bother contacting me as I was already disgusted by your rude demeanor and lack of interest and quality of your business.

I used to go there weekly for about 2 years. Loved the food and the prices were ok. Service has always been their issue and after a few horrendous experiences, I have stopped going. My view is they do not care about their customers. I now go to other asian restaurants in Bronxville.

I’m giving Haiku 2 stars for the service, not the food, which is still generous. My boyfriend and I went here and were told there was about a 5 – 10 minute wait for a table. Just a few short minutes later, a window table for 2 opened up and we asked if we could take it. The manager rudely told us that people who come before get the table first. Clearly catering to their Bronxville regulars, a solo elderly man was seated at the table we requested. We didn’t notice the man waiting and thought it was unnecessary for the manager to be impolite– not a very good impression for first-timers. The sushi itself was good(nothing to write home about though), but I will not be returning because of how unenthusiastic the wait staff was and the disrespect from the manager.

So I’m a regular at their Scarsdale location, this is my first time here at Bronxville because it’s closer to home… I’m here for pick up. Called in two orders of chicken pad Thai. Get here and the girl says your order is «$ 5.12». (Confused but hoping it was really that cheap) «For chicken pad Thai?» «No for chicken SATAY which is what you Ordered. «I said«no I want two orders of chicken pad Thai… « “I asked you on the phone twice what you wanted and you said chicken satay.» This girl done gave me sass!!! She proceeds to give me attitude because of it, gets the manager(who was very courteous and apologizes) and then proceeds to tell her in i don’t know what language, shut up and put her order in. She does so and no lie, seven minutes later my food is in my hand. I left and when I got home of course the pad Thai was freaking amazing but the customer service was lackluster. It’s a simple mistake, and no one is here to point fingers, just rectify it nicely okay please? Needless to say I will not be visiting this location of Haiku, ever again.

I would give –ve stars if I could. I will never go there again, and I’ll tell everyone I know to NOT go. Absolutely horrible customer service, not from any waiter or waitress, but from the manager who said he was the one who created the menu. I’m Chinese ordering a Chinese dish, asked for no sauce in my broccoli and chicken, and this guy had the guts to flat out tell me in the rudest manner possible there’s no such thing as broccoli and chicken with no sauce. This incident aside, the food quality at this restaurant has just gone way down since I first visited a year ago. Don’t go there. Not worth the money. The little fast food place next to Associated is better than it.

Their attitude has improved and they still have the best pad thai in the neighborhood.

Short and sweet great looking Place, out of most things I ordered, but what we ate was better than average. It took forever to get a roll a few prices of sushi. I think I’ll try s different place next time.

Been here many times over the past years but recently the service dropped off the cliff. One person in my party’s good came back cold so he sent it back asking to heat it up. 25 mins later no entrée. Asked where it was and they said its coking. Another 25 minutes they admitted they hadn’t started and said it was a shift change issue. Finally got my food 50 minutes after asking it to be reheated. We were the only ones there. Never filled up water. Garbage service look elsewhere like Wild Ginger

Had lunch there today as I was working up the road. Opted to try the chicken in spicy mango sauce with brown rice and sauteed spinach on the side. The spinach was excellent but the mango chicken wasn’t spicy and was actually a little bland. But I think I will opt for actual sushi if I visit again.

I have never been a waitress, but common sense tells me that if my income depended on tips from my customers I would work hard to provide a stellar customer service. I guess it does not work like this in Haiku. Came in with my mother for lunch, we got a nice table by the window and was looking forward to a good experience. Our waitress came, her name was Anna and without greeting us or introducing herself, she asked hastily if we wanted to order drinks. I said«yes» and asked for two glasses of wine. I lingered a bit and I asked her for an appetizer. Clearly annoyed she barked back at me, «oh– you wanted to order food now too?» I said, «no, we’ll order lunch in a bit. Just drinks and appetizer for now». She brought wine. Of course no smile, no «there you go». We waited 10 minutes to order the main course. I tried to flag her, but she was avoiding our table. Wen came to the rescue. He took our lunch order and brought us two glasses of water for which I had asked earlier. The rest of the lunch was uneventful, except for the two young girls that were sat in a table next to ours. You must know that there is no privacy at Haiku. The girl was discussing some personal matters and with us trying hard not to listen we felt we were sitting at her table and were members of her party. Anna showed up just to give us a check. She didn’t asked how everything was or whether we needed anything else. Let alone thanking us for our business. She dumped the check on the table and marched away. Oh, well… Hopefully, she will get it one day.

It was wonderful returning to my one of my favorite Bronxville haunts. I spent a good many Wednesday nights at Haiku so I was looking forward to my meal. The shumai were deliciously soft, moist and full of flavor. The hot and sour soup was not quite as good as before because it needed more heat and more sour. I got the sushi and sashimi combo. It was fresh and tasty and plated beautifully. The sushi pieces looked smaller than before. Antonio, one of the wait staff, remembered me. He is the heart and soul of Haiku. Unlike most other staffers, Antonio makes the effort to make everybody feel welcomed and appreciated. He is attentive, pleasant, has a great memory and is very efficient. There are a lot of really good restaurants in Bronxville and I would encourage people to try the other Asian restaurants. The food is reliably good but the mostly indifferent personnel leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The food deserves five stars but the service deserves three. Hence my rating of four stars.

Me and my boyfriend came here on Sunday for dinner and really wish we didn’t. It was one of those meals that sits in your throat for the rest of the evening, not a nice feeling. He ordered the Crispy Beef and quite literally it was that crispy that you couldn’t bite through it, it also had a very overpowering taste of charcoal. I had the sesame chicken, which was very bland. For $ 62 i rather have a local Chinese takeout.

Came here on a Monday night at around 8:00PM. There were a number of seats available, and it wasn’t incredibly busy. Mind you, often times when I pass by, it’s packed. Ordered the spicy mango sauce with chicken(plus rice), along with the sesame crispy chicken. Sesame chicken was quite generic, the mango sauce chicken was kind of bad. Also, both dishes were supposed to be spicy, but neither was. Price for two dishes came to $ 30. Very underwhelming.

This place has lost my business forever. I used to come here quite often as I find the sushi to be decent. I have noticed a serious attitude as of late — which I tend to ignore. One time — I placed an order for a relative and was told to order the, «Chef’s Special» which(apparently) she has ordered from here before. When I was on the phone ordering — I said this, she repeated it, and then I ordered 2 more meals after that. I arrived to pick up to a bill totaling $ 21 and knew there was a mistake. They were missing the Chef’s special. I mentioned this to the guy at the front — who told me I had ordered wrong and that there is no Chef’s special. I proceeded to mention I said Chef’s special on the phone, she repeated, and NEVER told me there was no chef’s special — all the time being very calm. He had the nerve to roll his eyes at me and start yelling at me that I was wrong and the 2 separate rolls I ordered I must have meant to have in the lunch special. Which was not true — this was a separate order for myself. He proceeded to lecture me about the difference between chef’s special rolls and the lunch special for about 5 minutes. Mind you — I already knew the difference as I had ordered here many times. I mentioned that whoever told me to order this special is not local and she might have been confused — I simply would have liked to have known at the time of my ordering would have like to have known it wasn’t an option. I had worked as a waitress for many years and would NEVER challenge a customer — even if I were in the right. This disgusted me that he would mock, roll his eyes and yell at me in the restaurant. He simply could have apologized and brought me through the lunch special to see what she may like. Several people have asked me to go to Haiku with them recently — and I say no and we go to Wild Ginger. They are now Wild Ginger fans and based off my story will never go to Haiku again. This took my weeks to write as I was unsure if I wanted to blast a restaurant so much — but his attitude still bothers me.

Im Never going back! Every time i go there I ask my self«Why did I go back» They are borderline Rude! The Sushi is not that great and I agree with someones comment that they have gotten cocky. The tall girl that takes care of the register is out right nasty. btw– Can you believe they charge extra for spicy mayonnaise? Isn’t that considered a condiment? NEVERAGAIN!

I really like Haiku in Bronxville, NY. There is usually never a wait longer than 10 or 15 minutes, if that, and the food is always great… Asian Fusion/Sushi. The last two times I have been there I had the sushi, which was fresh, fresh, fresh! Also, their wonton soup is to die for! Having said that, the staff is not the best. The only reason I did not give this location a lower rating is because I dislike when people give a rating based on solely the service. The wait staff, expect for one gentleman, is rude and never check in to see if the food is ok, or if you need anything while you are eating. For example, there was no water on the table when we arrived and it took 15 minutes for someone to bring us water because we had to ask for it. I will definitely be back; however, they should really train the waiters better.

I have not been to Haiku since 2007, but today I got a flashback, so I had to relive the entire moment. I had a sidepiece that lived nearby Bronxville, so we were always out here dining. Haiku had been a favorite of her and her family’s to come to, so we came. I remember everything being extra fresh as if they were trying their hardest to impress the patrons and locals each and every time. We ended up eating here about 6 or 7 more times together before I broke it off. Throughout that time, the food was always consistently good, and the staff grew to know our names and orders. It was a great experience. My experiences back then all merited a minimum four stars, but until I go back later this year and try it again, I can not give it those 4 stars because sometimes places do get a little to lax for comfort. We shall see my old friend. I’ll be back soon. To Be Continued…

I really liked it here. I was working in the area, had an extremely long day, and being unfamiliar with the area just happened upon it. Please serve alcohol please serve alcohol I kept saying to myself and voila!!! A BAR!!! yay! Bartender was so pleasant and made suggestions on her favorite sushi rolls. Chill atmosphere. Will definately be my go to sushi place when I am back in the area.

Located in Bronxville, it’s a quaint(but definitely enough seating) Asian fusion/sushi restaurant. There’s parking available(meters). The restaurant seems to offer a variety of foods from soups to salads to appetizers to entrees and noodles to sushi. I went with two others who ordered from the Entrée section(General Tso’s and a shrimp dish). Both were presented nicely(reminiscent of P.F. Chang’s presentation). One of my friends raved about the Seafood Soup. Apparently it’s a must. I decided to try the sushi. And it sure tasted Fresh! I especially liked the«Eel and Avacado» roll. The Spicy Tuna roll was also good. Ask for spicy mayo on the side if you want! The staff is friendly and service was prompt. We were not kept waiting too long. In fact, the waiter came by to pour the beer(from the bottle) into the glass for my friend. Pretty cool. If I weren’t from out of town, I’d definitely come back.
