FYI to anyone who goes to the Brookfield Bagel Man, I went there so I could grab some breakfast but the total came to $ 10.02 gave her a $ 20 she gave me back $ 9 after hitting a few buttons saying«oh shoot» I watched her not be able to count the right change($ 9.98) and close the draw and walk away. When I called her over I told her she short changed me she said«oh well I typed in you gave me 20.05 so I was going to give you $ 10“as she’s giving me at 10. Still wrong. Moral of the story don’t work with cash if you need a computer to count for you. This frustrates me To no end and the owner has to make up for your mistake or she was going to pocket the extra cash in the draw at the end of her shift cause I imagine were not the only ones this happens too. Count your own change shoppers. The bacon egg and cheese was ok. I have much better service at the Danbury location where the staff is happy, food is neat and well prepared and I don’t here the crew complain on how busy it was in the am «which sucks cause I just want to go home» like one of the other counter girl said today to her co worker just coming on for her shift.

I will go out of my way to stop by Bagelman if I am remotely in the area. The food is great, but on occasion the seam on th e paper coffee cup isn’t sealed and my coffee slowly leaks all over while I am driving into work.

Hands down the best bagel shop around. The best part is that it’s not just bagels: Burgers, Sandwiches, Smoothies, and more. I always get the Bacon Egg & Cheese with Pepperjack Cheese and a Hashbrown on a toasted Everything. Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch.

Food is good, I can’t knock that what so ever, the service on the other hand is horrible. On numerous occasions I have gone there and ordered and my order was completely wrong. I’ve even gone back to rectify the mistake and was given an attitude and told my I got exactly what I ordered. If your looking for good food, go there, but just double check your food before you walk out of there,

I checked out this location for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. I got my child a wheat bagel with butter and when I tried a piece it was the perfect amount of crispy and chewy– you could tell it had just been made and was delicious. I got a grilled chicken wrap that took a little longer but a staff member(who was very nice) asked me if I wanted the bagel first. My wrap was honestly delicious & I enjoyed my coffee too. Wait time was average but the place was packed and it was lunch time. Definitely one of my top bagel places since moving to CT based on my first experience. I will be back!

I’m very picky, but this place makes my wrap perfectly! My go to is a chicken cutlet wrap with lettuce, tomato and croutons, and it’s delicious every time. It sounds simple, but it’s hard to find. My boyfriend enjoys the lox bagels. Very friendly staff and great customer service.

Warm boiled New York bagels –nothing is better! Breakfast or lunch this is the place to be.

I popped in here on Christmas Eve looking for a snack. The place was empty as you might imagine. I got a whole wheat bagel with low fat cream cheese. It was very tasty. Was it the best bagel ever? No, but it was still very good. The staff were friendly as well, even though I was one of the last customers before they were closing up shop for the holiday.

Have been coming to Bagelman for years and everything is usually great. Went last weekend and it makes me wonder if this place is under new management. Didn’t recognize any of the employees, which would be fine if they knew what they were doing. Order our egg and cheeses on a bagel, sit down and wait for it to come out. First, the place is absolutely filthy. No one cleans the tables after guests leave, literally every single tables has crumbs and food on them when you sit down. Not to mention the garbage littered throughout the place on the floor… LAZY… 20 minutes later our food arrives, cold because the girls working there now are clueless as I’m sure our food had just been sitting there. To top it off, she messed up my order but i wasnt about to wait for another one. Hope they get their act together because it used to be my go to spot for a sandwich or egg n cheese but the young girl employees are awful and LAZY. CLEANTHEDAMNPLACEALREADY!

There is no greater bagel shop. Growing up in Danbury, Bagelman is basically a legend. We would have the hot, delicious bagels on our breakfast table every Sunday. In addition to the perfect crunchy outside and chewy inside of these bagels that come in every variety possible(try the sun dried tomato!), there is also a healthy variety of cream cheese spreads, sandwiches(the breakfast bagel is a standard) and salads as well. When I still lived up there and worked in Brookfield, I would eat lunch at Bagelman 5 days a week. Needless to say, every time I come to Danbury, Bagelman is a required stop. And I think it’s saying a lot, as I live in NY now and I still take a dozen home with me when I come up to visit!

After calling this number 6 times just now I finally got through and I asked to place and order for just a chicken salad on a bagel and was told by the man on the phone he didn’t have time for me to take that order and I need to come in and stand in line. What terrible customer service. Awful and dissapointing. I’ll be going elsewhere.

Possibly the best bagels in the universe. I’ve spent most of my life in NYC so I’m very picky. I grew up in Brookfield as a kid and have never found a bagel(even in New York!) that tops this place. I’ve lived all over the world and no matter what, when I visit home I pack myself up a dozen to take back with me. I wish you guys delivered across the country because I live in LA now and would totally take you up on that! Instead my wonderful friends and family ship me a bunch of them when they can. :) The sandwiches are great, the bagels are perfect and everything about that tiny location is the best. The cream cheeses are also delicious. I like their Danbury location, too, but this Brookfield one is my favourite. I only wish they were open later in the day. Sometimes you just want a bagel for dinner, you know? :) All in all, no complaints and I miss this place so much. Next time I’m in Brookfield, I’ll be visiting for sure!

Service extremely poor at this place… girls at the counter more interested in busily chatting away while my wife and I stood at the counter waiting to have our orders taken. We were the only customers at the counter and one of the girls glanced at us but kept chatting away then she walked right buy us! Guess we were not her register but again maybe 6 people in the place and we are the only ones at the counter, not even acknowledging us or telling her friend hey you got a customer! The sandwiches we ordered were not bad, but I had to go the counter to get mine(steak and cheese) took longer to prepare but they forgot to bring the order… she was very apologetic but from the way they took care of the counter it is just how this place operates. Then we watched them lock the door at least 5 – 10 minutes before closing time which was 3PM! They waived customers off as they were locking the door! Can you believe that what great customer service! Watched as a few people that were inside need to wait at the door to get out, no one caring to notice that they wanted to leave. This day here on Sunday Jan 5th2014 was total joke. You need to speak up to get attention for service, you need to speak up to get your order brought to you, and then you need to find someone to let you out before it is truly closing time! Will never go back again.

Best bagels in the area by far! I have moved away from the area & still make excuses to travel to that side of Brookfield to stop at Bagelman & get my fix. Recently shipped some out to former B-Town residents on the West Coast and they devoured them in hours. Even though they are packed on weekend mornings, they still keep the line moving so you don’t have to wait very long for their delicious fresh bagels. Love Bagelman!

Good food but soooooo slow and unorganized. What a difference from the Mill Plain one. The people here are half awake, it takes 20 minutes just to order, which i don’t understand because they literally just need to write down the order and give it to the cooks. Maybe that is why because of their archaic system. The worst us the heavy lady with short dark hair. She takes 5 minutes to walk to the coffee pot. Time to restaff with some fresh energetic people who move at a decent pace.

I was not very happy with my experience here. I waited 15 mins after ordering an egg bagel with egg/cheese/bacon and they barely apologized and gave me a cold bagel that was dry. It just wasn’t that great but I may be biased because I grew up in the NY bagel shops haha.

Really good bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches — I recommend getting it on a hard roll. Simple menu serving fresh bagels and sandwiches and such. It’s been in town for a good long while now, and while it might not seem like much, but they just don’t have places like this everywhere. Good prices, too — only $ 2.83 for the breakfast sandwich.

Im going back a bit but, we’ve seen Waldbaums, The Wiz(it got beat), Channel Hardware, Hallmark, The Book Review, Pagoda Kitchen all get outlasted by Bagelman. The«Candlewood Plaza» as its now called looks a bit nicer,(I think they finally moved the old Waldbaums sign from the bushes near the hilly exit) and Bagelman still holds it down, but I must say that service and quality has steadily declined over the past 10 years. I will still give it 4 stars because it is the best around by FAR, but mostly because they delivered bagels to Lakeshore Deli during the Little Store Glory Years. But step yo bagel game back up to where it was in the 98 – 2005 range, you all know what I mean! I still think(hope) its the place BHS kids go on Sunday morn(afternoon) after partying all night and run into the girl from the«other town» that you met at The Maxx* in New Milford. *also acceptable places of meeting– Empress Ballroom, Bethel Diner, Cornfield Maze and The Quarry

This is the best bagel place in Brookfield/Danbury that I have found. The food is always fresh, the bagels are great and the atmosphere is great. The shop is surrounded by pictures of the owner and his collection of photographs with celebrities. The coffee is really good too. My only complaint is that it takes FOREVER for a sandwich to be made. I order a cluckin’ russian, and it usually takes 10 minutes for the order to come out. I am not sure why, but they are not making a fresh cutlet in the back. Would be 5-stars if not for this hiccup.
