Roots Salon and Spa

I bought a Groupon for Roots Salon, in which I got a haircut and full highlights for $ 49. Great deal! When you walk in, everyone is very pleasant and friendly. They’ll take your coat, check you in and offer you something to drink, like water, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The décor is very hip and modern. They seem to offer every kind of service you could want: massage, facial, mani/​pedi, eyebrow wax, plus, of course, hair services. I met stylist, Erika, who helped me pick out color and did my foils. When she was just finishing up my highlights, she asked if they could paint my nails for me. «It’s complimentary.», she said. She told me I needed 45 minutes for my color to process, so why not get my nails done for free?! Score! I move over to the manicure area and meet Angela, who is also very nice and friendly. I picked out a sparkly pink color, and she painted my nails. Next, was back to Erika to take out the foils, wash, rinse, cut and blowdry. I love the color we picked, and I love the cut she gave me! As a new client, I was given 3 coupons: 20% off any product purchase, 50% off any spa service and $ 10 off your next visit when you book an appointment. Well, I was so happy with my experience, that I certainly booked another appointment!

Enjoyed my hair appointment with Stephanie, aka «Bradley» here @ Roots! It was a lot bigger inside than expected and it has a professional and salon type atmosphere. It reminds me of Vici Beauty school… except for this are beauty school graduates ;). I got a really good deal from_​_​Groupon for only $ 40 for a color/​trim/​style. Also, I was given some coupons for any friends who would set up an appointment w/​Bradley/Stephanie…this included $ 15/​off any service, and I would also be receiving the same deal after they had redeemed theirs, on my next visit! Overall, I felt very comfortable with my stylist and was pleased with my experience here. 5

Very nice salon. They seem to offer everything. I am trying them out today with a Groupon (full highlights and haircut for $ 47) and so far so good. I see they have a loyalty program, I may just sign up. I will be back!

I have been coming to this salon for years and the first stylist I had was Naomi the owner. LOVED the way she colored my hair! When Naomi decided to focus on only the business aspect as well as raising children I began seeing other high level stylists at Roots, nothing ever compared even though my original formula was written down in the files right there and I always said that I loved the way Naomi did my hair.
I have gone through several different stylists at Roots and it had gotten to the point I actually questioned if one stylist I had been seeing for a couple of years actually stopped speaking English or was suffering some sort of hearing loss. I called crying and begging on a Sunday morning that they need to fix the disaster created by this stylist the previous day!
That is where Missy comes into the picture! She originally started out as Naomi’s assistant. Missy actually takes the time to listen to what you want and literally interpret that wish onto your head rather than going all freestyle like so many other stylists out there.
I am a beach girl golden blonde and the formula was worked out years ago. Missy totally ROCKS and after I started seeing her, the compliments just keep rolling in how great my hair looks! After the first time, FIVE different strangers off the street in addition to friends and family complimented my hair which HAD NOT happened in over 2 years.
The salon’s reception staff (which seems to have a high turnover rate) would benefit with the help of customer service skills in addition to common sense. If I book an appointment on Friday to schedule for the upcoming Tuesday, DO NOT call with a reminder the following day Saturday. Only other service I have had here is nail service between hair processing times which I really would not recommend. Maybe convenient, but trust me that’s it!
Roots is a clean modern salon with a large selection of great products conveniently located in Brookfield. If you are looking for a GREAT stylist, I say call and book yourself an appointment with Missy today.
