Affectionately referred to as «The Fish Wrapper» they do an ok job of covering the run of the mill stuff. No hard hitting journalism or coverage of controversial topics due to in my opinion not wanting to «offend» advertisers. If it were not for the ads, the entire paper would be reduced to 4 pages.

I love this paper. It comes out 2x’s a week on Saturdays and Wednesday. You get all the current news you would need in Brookings… I love it so much that I have it delivered to my home in Marin… most of the time I can’t wait so I go on line and check out the new edition each time it is released. There is a lot of talent in Brookings and I think what I like the most about a small town paper is that the papers focus is on the positive of the community and people who make Brookings the great town that it is.

Local newspapers are filled with outstanding local content and i discovered this Brookings newspaper 3 years ago while visting Brookings Oregon. The staff does a outstaning job and I read the news[a[er cover to cover while visiting and also the online version
