Brigham and Women’s Primary Care

I saw Steven Brauer, a young physician at this location. While Brauer’s credentials suggest that he is highly intelligent, his talents might be put to better use in a lab or research facility. I have dealt with very young doctors before, and have always come away satisfied. Not this time.
Brauer’s interpersonal skills are rudimentary and perfunctory. He went through the computerized checklist and didn’t seem to want to deviate from what was on the screen before him. He did not provide explanations. He felt it was appropriate to cut corners in the lab tests, which made me uncomfortable. He was unclear as to what my next steps should be with a particular ailment.
After my visit I had to deal with the woman at the desk outside his office. She was not particularly helpful or friendly. Nor was the woman who drew my blood.
The entire facility is in need of a major renovation, so perhaps the gloomy surroundings have a negative effect on those who work there.
