I think this McDonald’s is long gone. When I was little, after school, my mom would take us here for an afternoon treat. We would come here and get our meals and watch the elders around us wither away. My brother called this place: The Old People Hang Out Place. i hated this McDonald’s cuz it made me realize what I probably would look like as an old person. Not cool…

McD’s is a necessity. Not for me, & maybe not for you, but for the burger economy. There’s really only three reasons to ever go to McDonalds & they are as follows: 1.) You’ve got a dollar & some odd change, are REALLY craving a burger, & there’s no other burger joint with a dollar menu within walking distance; or 2.) You need a pseudo-meat sandwich of dubious quality in order to continue appreciating better beef offerings in town. A burger from here makes every other burger seem so much better. 3.) A man offers you a million dollars to take a bite out of a Big Mac. This’ll never happen, so there’s only two reasons, I guess. You may argue that McD’s has the best fries of the big fast food establishments. Sure, I might agree. But fries aren’t exactly, erm, healthy. & quite frankly, I think baked potatoes totally pwn fries in every imaginable way. This McD’s, as well as almost every other fast food joint I’ve visited in ze north, seems to lack the option of free refills. WTF is that? Yeah, I know soda’s bad, & I probably drink too much of it, but if I’m paying as much for a drink as I would two 2-Liters at Stop & Shop, you better damn well be giving me a refill. I’d also like to point out that the Boston version of $ 1 McChickens are absolutely disgusting. They were slightly tolerable back home, because they were spicy — does spicy even exist in Boston? Seriously. Finally, McD’s in general also loses my respect for discontinuing the Arch Deluxe: it was the closest thing to good they’ve ever had, & they had to give it a stupid & overpriced ad campaign & blow it. GROWL.
