i’ve written reviews before but i’ve never written a review while im eating… but i am so disappointed and didnt want to forget any of the reasons why. i will preface this with the fact that i’ve always liked pita pit and have had good experiences whenever i’ve gone to the store. tonight is the first time i’ve had it delivered and it was not a good experience. i ordered a diet coke, they brought me coke zero. i ordered one bag of salt and vinegar chips, they brought me 2 bags of plain chips. i asked for tzitiki sauce on the side, and i didn’t get any. also the lettuce is clearly not fresh at all and im borderline concerned to be eating it. also, i ordered at 6:25 and it was delivered at 7:54(on a tuesday night). im giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the delivery woman was extremely nice and because i appreciate that the pitas are stuffed pretty full and the bread is fresh. im not sure if i would ever order delivery again due to this bad experience, but if i do i’ll update hoping that it goes better a second time.

Last time I’ve Order pickup from their online website. On my home I’ve stopped the place to pick up my order. The associate that served me at the time told me she never received the online order. I showed the associate the online confirmation receipt she refused to acknowledge it as being proof and told me I needed call the third party who the company to handle all their online order. I complained to both corporate and the manager who brushed me off. No wonder this place is gone

Really really goooood! I ordered a chicken gyro and pita with hummus for delivery. It came super quick and the delivery girl was nice — she even climbed up all the stairs to my apartment(don’t worry, I didn’t ask!). Every flavor was there, and for an awesome price, what else is there to say? Go order, you won’t be disappointed.

I was absolutely obsessed with the Pita Pit that was on my college’s campus back in the day, so I squealed with joy when I realized there’s one in Brookline(and yes, I really did squeal… if you can imagine what they may have even sounded like). Technically, they’re a fast-food joint, but all of their veggies and other ingredients are super fresh, and the meat isn’t overly greasy, so you don’t feel like you’re eating fast food at all. You get your choice of white or wheat pita. They offer tons of choices for pita sandwiches, but I almost always ordered the chicken Caesar when I was in college, so that’s what I got this time, too. And what I like so much about Pita Pit is that yes, there are certain things that make a chicken Caesar a chicken Caesar and not something else, but they still let you add on whatever other toppings and dressings you may want at no additional cost. The woman working here when I came was insanely friendly and patient while I initially ordered a chicken Caesar, changed my mind, and then inevitably went back to the chicken Caesar. Most people working behind a counter would have shown some sort of visible sign of frustration with me and my total indecisiveness by then. Oh, and your pita comes with a coupon — buy 3 and get your 4th free. Not too shabby.

It is what it is: fast, consistent, relatively fresh food. Nothing fancy, but it’s a fast food salad(or pita) at most hours of the day — who’s going to argue with that? Laid back staff have been wicked nice and efficient all four times I’ve been. Sometimes late they seem a little understaffed but they bust it to get you on your way — tip ‘em well folks, they deserve it. I can’t speak to the meat quality here but the veg options rock my socks. p. s. online ordering is nice — clearly laying out what(free!) add-ons they have to amp up your order.

4 stars seems like the best option. Food is good, and always seems fresh. Though their chicken leaves room for improvement. Prices are decent and portions arent huge but suitable for a healthier less filling lunch. Only reason its not a 5 is that the staff always seems little too confused. They are friendly and enthusiastic but somehow seem to supply some kind of nervous energy. This isnt really a knock as I almost get a kick out of it.

TL;DR: Chicken Souvlaki = Mouthgasm x10; Polite, talented chef. Would recommend for every meal until you die of over-deliciousness. Seriously, this place has the most amazing food I’ve had in Boston. I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki and a Pita with Dip(Hummus). The Pita was fresh, the hummus was delicious, and more importantly, they provided PLENTY. But the real hero, and the reason I was driven to Unilocal to write this review, was the Chicken Souvlaki. I had selected Tomatoes, Tzatzaki, Hellmanns Ancho Chipotle, and Secret Sauce(Spicy Vinaigrette), but also left special instructions: «I don’t really know much about pita, so please feel free to alter my order, make it really yummy and awesome. I like spicy stuff.; with White Pita; with Tomatoes; with Feta cheese; with Tzatziki, Secret Sauce(Spicy Vinaigrette), and Hellmanns Ancho Chipotle; with Salt, Crushed Red Pepper, Pepper, and Oregano» Now there was a snow storm, so my order hadn’t arrived after about an hour and a half, so I called them to ask about it. I was greeted very very politely by someone who was friendly and explained that the guy left, but it was the snow storm that had delayed it. He went on to say«Hey, I understand where you’re coming from though, so if it’s cold, or you don’t like it, or you’re dissatisfied for ANY reason at all, please call me, and I’ll refund your order». I have to say, I was expecting some cold, bad tasting food at this point, because he seemed to think it would have been ruined by the cold. When the food arrived, which was about 15 minutes later, it was the most mouth-watering experience ever. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The vegetables(he had added lettuce) were fresh as ever; and the mix of sauces completely blew my mind. I called him to tell him he was a genius, and also to ask him what exactly he put in there, because I want to order it again. He explained how it was Tzatzaki, Ancho Chipotle, and Jalepeno Ranch, because he knew the jalepeno ranch and chipotle go really well together. This chef really knew the flavors in his food, prepared them perfectly, and was really polite and humble too; A combination that even some world class chef’s don’t have. I wrote this detailed review, because when this guy makes it big time, I want to be one of the first ones that documented recognizing his talent.

I really like Pita Pit. I really do, usually. Tonight, I ordered a phone order delivery at 9:30pm. I had been out on vacation, just got home and had no food to speak of to cook, was excited to get something tasty delivered. The woman who took my order apologized up front and said that it would take about 45 min to an hour because they were very busy. I’m cool with that, I understand, it’s late, only 1 driver on hand, and it’s a Monday night. 2 hours later, the driver finally showed up. I tipped him, because it’s not his fault they were busy and understaffed. Sent him on his merry way. Opened up our pitas, and they weren’t what we ordered. I had specifically mentioned to the woman on the phone when I ordered that I had a food allergy. I’m allergic to onions. What was on both pitas? LOTS of onions, in addition to olives which weren’t on my order, and missing several other items we had requested on our made-to-order Pitas. Come on. I called back to have a chat with a manager… now 11:30pm. No manager on, just the woman and the driver. She argued with me over the phone… Actually had the audacity to argue with me about what Pitas were sent. Seriously? She realized her mistake when I called her out on it, and apologized there was nothing she could do. I asked her to send the correct order, that’s sort of a gimme… she apologized and said she’d get right on sending the correct order. Then said, «that’ll be $ 16». Um what? No, you don’t get to charge me twice for 1 correct order. Another hour and 15 min later, now 12:45am… got the right Pitas. Perhaps the next time I call(if I do decide to repeat my business) things will go right. Hopefully you will have better luck!

Pita burrito! I am addicted to takeout(well, more like delivery… as if I’m gonna pick this sh*t up myself) and Pita Pit has recently been a welcome healthy addition to the rotation. Sometimes you just get tired of garlic knots, you know?(This will actually never ever happen, but a little lettuce in my life replacing the butter and cheese isn’t a bad thing.) So. I was expecting a pita pocket-type thing but what I got was a pita wrap — much more conveniently packaged! I started with the basic turkey and added on all sorts of delicious veggies. Foodler was offering some deal like 40% off instantly, so that’s not too shabby either. Delivery took a bit longer than expected, but was explained when the delivery guy showed up on his bike. I’ll take a bit longer of a wait for a little environmental friendliness! My pitarrito was AWESOME. Crisp, fresh veggies, tasty turkey, and waaaaaay healthier than those garlic knots. And cheap, yay! I think we have a winner!

Ordered from here for the first time the evening of Superbowl Sunday when I was having a serious falafel craving but didn’t want to miss any of the halftime show… er, I mean, the game. Ordered a whole wheat pita with falafel, babaganoush, tzatziki, feta, and a mix of greens and veggies — and I placed my order through Foodler, and it was great to see all of the choices laid out so nicely like that. I placed my order at 7:06 with an expected delivery of 7:50. At 8:15, still no food, but I figured that my timing was probably not ideal given the game. Still, I called to check things out, and the guy on the phone was extremely nice and apologetic. He confirmed that his driver had just left with my food and should arrive within the next five minutes, and he said he had thrown in an extra free drink because of the wait. Pleasantly surprised, I thanked him and hung up, and not 30 seconds later, the buzzer rang. The delivery guy was also very nice and apologized for the wait. Now, onto the food. The pita was gigantic and the veggie ingredients were nice and fresh, though the falafel itself was a little dry — still serviceable, but it didn’t knock my socks off. Still, I’ll probably order from here again if/when I have another falafel craving and am too lazy to go get it myself; it was not the best falafel I’ve ever had, but it did hit the spot.

With all the signs for«new management,» I figured Pita Pit was trying really hard to reinvent itself, with good quality and service, so I ventured in and got a chicken pita sandwich. The pita was warm and soft and definitely the best part. The chicken was full of cartilage, and dropped on the table and stuffed back into the pita(which had torn in multiple places, from being folded into a burrito-type shape). The vegetables(salad-bar layout) seemed fine. The total was around $ 7. I’m giving 2 stars because I applaud the concept — there should be more pita places in the area. But the sandwich was inedible — I threw it away after only eating half — and I probably won’t return. If I do, though, I’ll definitely skip the meat.

It kind of plays like a high-quality, healthy Subway. And I mean that as a compliment. From the ambiance to the«watch them make it in front of you» layout, it has a comforting chain-y kind of feel. The quality of ingredients are far higher, and you have your lunch on pitas instead of bread, and you can opt for something like a gyro or a felafel, which Subway or Quiznos obviously could not offer. If you’re in the area and looking for something that isn’t a slice of pizza or a sub shop style grease-laiden sandwich, Pita Pit is a sound option.

I LOVEPITAPIT! I moved out here from the West and was so excited when I found out that there was a Pita Pit! Whenever I’m in a hurry or too lazy cook, I always hit up Pita Pit. Its way better for you than McD’s or BK

I went to Pita Pit last night, and I’ve been on a few occasions prior to that. I always get the Chicken Crave pita, which is just ham and chicken, on a white pita wrap with mayo. While I have no problem with the taste of the food, I think this place is a bit overpriced for what you are getting(the pitas were small); however, this place is student-friendly and always has discounts and coupons available. My bf and I used a «buy one get one free» coupon. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have gone there last night. I would’ve also liked a little more meat on my pita. The ham was rolled up, so it was crushed into one part of my pita.

I’m a fan of Mediterranean food so I thought I’d give this place a try since I was already at the hardware store about a block away. My friend got the gyro and I got the chicken souvlaki and boy was I sorry about what I got. The chicken seemed to be comprised of all tough parts and fat and it was like eating concentrated disappointment. I ended picking out all the«chicken» and eating it as a veggie wrap with hummus. It wasn’t that bad when I did it but I didn’t exactly pay for a veggie wrap. I tried my friend’s gyro and it was a bit better but it wasn’t anywhere close to other places I’ve been to. Maybe if I tried something else I’d have liked it better but I wasn’t impressed. It’s not horrible, but eh. Lastly, I have to agree with the others about the off putting décor in the place. It’s not like it’s horrifying or anything but it’s just a bit odd.

Yesterday I was headed to softball practice at 3pm when I remembered all I had to eat that day was an egg and cheese sandwich at 10am. Practice would go until at least 5. My teammate who was riding in the car with me enthusiastically suggested that I eat immediately as we approached the Pita Pit. Best decision of the day! The young man at the counter was quite friendly, and made sure I wanted the bacon that comes on the chicken Caesar wrap. That’s probably a good thing to check on, especially in Brookline. Of course I wanted it though! Bacon is a delightful addition to anything, but really made this wrap outstanding. The pita wasn’t exotic or anything, but the chicken was fresh, the lettuce was nice and crispy, and there was just the right amount of dressing. The dressing was the right consistency too, not gloopy, nor runny. It was way better than one of those giant sandwich chains, and I know this franchise is owned by a local woman, so I feel good about giving them my dollars. Speaking of which, my sandwich was about $ 6.50. That’s wholly reasonable if you ask me. I mean, there’s bacon in it! So, Pita Pit may have saved my life by giving me some much needed nutrition before running around. And my teammates’ lives too, since I would’ve been horrifyingly cranky and armed with a bat.

When Groupon released a deal for this place I figured, heh, why not. I like pitas and figured that if I was ever in the area, which happens once in a while, I could totally go there for a nice, healthy dinner. Then that day came and I headed into Pita Pit for the first time. The décor, I must say, is quite tacky. They have vegetables drawn on the walls that have smiley faces; I’m instantly transported into second grade. Seriously. Whatever I’m not here to stare at walls, I’m here to eat and I promptly ordered a chicken souvlaki pita to which I added a ton of vegetables, including cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, olives, carrots and even a bit of hummus. After paying I proceeded to sit down and stare the beast right in the eye as it sat in front of me, on the tray, daring me to take a bite. The pita was stuffed, and I mean stuffed. I had no idea you could put so much in one within it ripping like a parachute cord; Confident, I took a bite and… the rest is history. The pita instantly ripped and a third of the content were slowly dripping from my hands and fingers onto the table. Great. The food tasted ok although some of the veggies felt a bit dry, like they were cut hours earlier. I guess the place could appeal some people who are healthy by conscious and in some of a hurry but unless they invent a rip-proof pita made out of kevlar, I doubt that I’d return there, especially since Coolidge Corner has quite the selection when it comes to place to eat. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and parking easy to find as well, as it usually is around there.
