In a neighborhood not far from Boston University was a gem to get coffee, breakfast, lunch or a lite early supper. I had a breakfast wrap and was blown away by the flavor and the size for such a reasonable price. While I sat at on of two nearby counters the man greeted many patrons by name, most took their food to go. I wish I was still in town to stop by for lunch! Highly recommend.

I remember going here when I was high school and it’s awesome to see it still there today. They’ve changed a lot over the years(you used to be able to buy a six pack or bottle of wine) but it’s still a great takeout spot. Love their chicken cutlet sandwiches and their chili cheese dogs have always been an underrated option!

Picked up food from here last night. Husband ordered the beals street panini which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the BLT it came on a sub — the amount of bacon in it was amazing, could have used a few more tomatoes, and a little too much mayo. Also, it would have been nice had it been toasted(which I think I could have requested but aren’t BLT’s usually toasted?). But overall, still delicious. Had their sugar cookie which comes from their sister bakery, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was fine. Also had their onion rings which are huge and delicious. Clam chowder had a good taste as well but was a little on the thick side. Overall, good food and reasonably priced.

I absolutely love their salads. If I could, I would come here to pick up either lunch or dinner every day. My favorite salad is the Pacific Beach salad. The service is always fast and friendly. You can call ahead or order online and have your food ready when you arrive!

Tiny little spot in brookline with pretty great sandwiches — my favorite go-to is the Fig & Pig grilled panini. It has prosciutto, arugula, fig spread, and bleu cheese. Great for winter AND summer time. They also serve both fries and sweet potato fries. If you’re into pizza, their pizza slices are ginormous, however I’m not the biggest fan of their pizzas. The asian chicken salad is also great. Extremely filling with a full chicken breast. The sauce is light and the texture is great with the fried wontons. I’ve given the breakfast food a couple of tries but am not the biggest fan — stick to the sandwiches! It does however close fairly early at 8pm, so not the best for late night food.

A great go-to for pizza and sandwiches in the Brookline area. We love the pizza, and is much more reasonably priced than some of the other pizza places in the neighborhood. Friendly service. We always love whatever we get from the Spa!

I used to work on the area and was nervous when they closed for renovations. They place just got better. I became a regular and didn’t need to even order. The friendly staff would see me and get started on my order. Chicken Ranch pizza slice, half moon(from their sister store«Sugar») and glass bottle of Coke. All around great place!

Living right across from this place I just had to try them out and see if they were any good. The name is deceiving… you come here for food, not a spa treatment. They have sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, breakfast, and etc. However, I wouldn’t recommend their breakfast burritos(2.5 stars) since they taste really bland and there’s not much flavor to them, but they are filling. The Baconsfield burrito especially, is very eggy and the only real flavor you taste comes from the salt from the bacon… they are definitely missing a crucial component to put it all together. I normally get their chicken caesar salad and the chicken is always well-reasoned and cooked just right(I love getting it from here!). Their caesar dressing is also very creamy, but not too heavy so it so it doesn’t overpower the rest of the salad. If you’re in the mood for a sandwich, then the Reuben is a solid choice… they definitely stack that thing pretty high so you get your money’s worth and it’s prepared very nicely. Their pizza is all right, but it’s definitely not something I could crave from there. I think their salad and sandwiches are where they excel the most, but not breakfast burritos.

I love the Greek Salad! I always take to go! It’s too small to sit and eat. Great job guys!

I ordered here at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The delivery took less than 30 minutes and the food was well above average. I ordered the onion rings, a cheeseburger sub, and the clam chowder. The onion rings were the highlight. Definitely made in house, thick battered and very crispy. The«boom boom» sauce that came with them was amazing and really complimented them well. The cheeseburger sub was delicious as well. The burger was well made and the bread was fresh and slightly toasted. It could have been a bit bigger but it wasn’t small by any means. The clam chowder was fantastic as well. Nice and thick with great flavor. I am always skeptical about ordering seafood or chowder from takeout places but this one is definitely worth trying. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed.

I have loved the Spa since I discovered it several years ago. However, with the new renovation, things just aren’t the same anymore. I miss the old menu as there was a greater variety of sandwiches. I do enjoy the Commonwealth, but it is very messy to eat. The salads I’ve had were mediocre and I definitely wouldn’t get one again. As a neighborhood spot, I’ll continue to support a local business, but it won’t be my first pick anymore. My next visit will be to get some pizza which was delicious in the past. There are fewer seats now so take your meal to go. Limited parking is tough for grab and go, but there is a lot up the street near the Town Hall.

Lunch is three stars breakfast 1 star. Pizza slices are weirdly bad. They smell great, look great but taste off fire some reason. They had the audacity to charge 5.30 for 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese in a tiny English muffin. Everything is overpriced come to think of it. I think they are owned by the real deal people but the food is not as good as real deal which I like. The people behind the counter seem like they hate their life. Never seen a smile once. I’m just overall not impressed at all. I am often in the area but they disappointed me 1 too many times. Enough is enough.

Rec: ++Beals Street: chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, tomato, arugula, sriracha mayo on company foccacia bread ~$ 9 with tax. The outcome of my panini totally exceeded my expectations: not only did it NOT look like a squished, typical panini, but it looked high end. You’re definitely paying for what you get. The foccacia bread was crispy throughout with the outer crust a bit too tough on the mouth. You’re given 2 layers of moist, chicken cutlets. The chewy mozzarella was the bomb paired with the sriracha mayo. Everything melded well with very generous servings– I will be absolutely stuffed till tonight. Their chalk board menu is a bit tough to read with the cursive penmanship below the name of each of their sandwiches. I love their modern-retro fusion décor– case in point: their retro coca-cola ice cream freezer!

If a spa is a place you visit to relax and rejuvenate, then The Brookline Spa is no less a spa than any other. The food is consistently satisfying and satisfyingly consistent. The menu has something for everyone — pizza, panini, salad, sub, wrap. Even breakfast, coffee and pastries. The staff may not greet you quite as warmly as a traditional spa, but they are nonetheless nice, knowledgeable and efficient in moving people through the line and out the door during the busy lunch rush. Dressing always on the side, accompanied by their signature pita, the salads are large, flavorful and relatively healthy. The grilled chicken is always made to order. My only qualm is how large the vegetables are cut. If I wanted to do that much work, I’d make the salad myself! Ok, maybe not. The pizza is fantastic! I do agree that the slices have been a bit greasier since the re-open, but grease or no grease, the chicken/bacon/ranch is still really good. The dough is perfection — chewy, crunchy, delicious. Slices are HUGE too, so keep that in mind when ordering. I tend to have big eyes, but really 1 slice is enough(or maybe 1.5). You can get just about any combination you’d like in the form of a sandwich/wrap/panini. Stick to the menu(Fig & Pig) or create your own — can’t go wrong. More of a takeout spot than sit-down, but there are a handful of stools lined up at the wraparound window bar. Due to the aforementioned lunch time rush, call ahead or better yet, take advantage of their new online ordering system. What are you waiting for?! Go pamper yourself at the Spa!

Food is delicious. However in my last take out order, we ordered wings and got chicken fingers. They we good but we were craving wings. Hopefully next time; we will get wings. Definitely try the onion rings and the fig & pig sandwich. :-)

Since the reopening, the size and quality of the sandwiches did drop. This was disappointing, but their breakfast is still great for the Brookline area. The coffee is dark and rich, the breakfast bites are tasty, but the burritos are really stellar for the price. It’s not the same(why did you get rid of the curly fries?) but still offers good food at reasonable prices.

The Brookline Spa is as much a spa as the French Laundry is a laundromat, but when it comes to quality of food, both are in the upper echelon in their respective culinary niches. Don’t be fooled by the old-timey signage outside with the vintage coca-cola logo, since when you step inside, the interior is modern with chalkboard menu postings of gourmet sandwiches, salads, wraps, and pizzas you would expect to find in a foodie hipster neighborhood such as Brooklyn, Portland, or Austin. Being a first timer, my eyes gravitated towards their panini sandwiches with artisanal ingredients piled on freshly baked foccacia bread. I went with the«Fig and Pig» which consists of prosciutto, arugula, fig spread, and bleu cheese. Despite the price tag of 8.50, the size of the sandwich is definitely generous enough to fill 2 people especially if you throw in a side of chips, sweet potato fries, onion rings, or a cup of their signature soups including clam chowder(what New England sandwich shop wouldn’t have their own rendition?). Taking in that first bite, my teeth immediately sank through immaculately toasted bread that is easy on the jaw but firm enough to cut against the roof of your mouth with each mouthful(totally worth it, I might add). Each layer carries a distinct note and flavor producing a wonderful swirl through of saltiness from the prosciutto lightened by the subtle spicy and herbacious arugula and punctuated by the sweetness of the fig spread and tangyness of the bleu cheese. A definite masterpiece to be added for consideration amongst my pantheon of great sandwiches since it satisfies the prerequisite of being delicious, but also has a beautiful cross-section in terms of color and texture, and a notable absence of liquid/runny elements making each bite consistent and balanced. I paired my sandwich with the onion rings which are served with a zesty orange dipping sauce akin to a spicy Russian dressing and they were a wonderful sidekick to an already near-perfect lunch(also open for breakfast). Looking forward to exploring other delightful creations on future visits.

If you’re into sandwiches, this place is a must! They have lots of varieties o this handcrafted and portable meal on delicious breads. We split the fig and pig and the woodland — both excellent! In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with ingredients like figs, proscuitto, and blue cheese and this sandwich proved me right yet again! Fresh and generous portion! I do not like eggplant. But I loved it in this sandwich! Super yummy marinade and expertly cooked so I completely forgot what I was eating — had a nice kick to it, too! Both sandwiches stay well if they can’t be eaten immediately. We were running late and they even delivered to us less than a mile away. I will be back!

I don’t know about their breakfasts, or salads, or subs, or anything else. All I know from The Spa is their mouthwatering Chicken Cutlet Ranch Pizza and generous portion of freshly fried Sweet Potato fries. I’ve seen on other reviews that, since their renovation, the food has been remarkably greasy. This can truly be applied about the pizza slice in question; it is incredibly greasy and I believe if they cut down on the fat/oil that they pack on it, the taste would not suffer. Mounds of napkins have drowned as I try to spare myself some ounces of ‘Artery Clogging Liquid fat’. On the Sweet Potato fries, well they are perfection. The first time I ordered them, I was shocked to get such a big portion. It was as if the Fry Fair sent a message to the cook on my behalf: «Give Laura a pound of fries. She loves them. She’s starving». Well, days later I saw someone else get an equally generous portion. I realized that was no fairy, The Spa just provides a sh*t load of fries per order that can feed a whole Puerto Rican family(and that ain’t racist, I’m Puerto Rican).

Definitely the place to come for a solid breakfast on the go. I got the egg/cheddar/pancetta/fig preserve sandwich on homemade biscuit for $ 5, and it was a tasty(and messy) monster that I’d definitely order again, although I might split it with someone else in the future because this thing is huge. It came with a(hot or iced) coffee roasted by Fazenda, which is a really flavorful and high-quality brew that had notes of mocha; I don’t know if this was a limited time special or if they always include a free coffee with the breakfast sandwiches, but either way it was a great deal. Aside from the tasty food and good value, I found Brookline Spa had good customer service, a clean interior, and an interesting menu(but still includes the usual suspects for traditionalists). Do check them out.

Love the new renovations! I don’t really know what to say about this place except you can get your standard deli subs and pizza slices, but they also offer creative twists and signature items. I don’t know if they always had this before their renovations, or now I just see them more clearly with their new menu, but they have really great breakfast items too — breakfast sandwiches and bites(biscuits, whoop whoop!). They brew their own unsweetened teas, and of course serve coffee. I like this place. Why not 5 stars? The seating arrangement leaves something to be desired and the line can get disorganized/confusing.
