$ 6 credit card minimum. Not very convenient for a convenience store! Especially considering the laundromat next door is card-only :P

If you are looking for the perfect corner store, look no further. Great sandwiches, smoothies, deli selection(boar’s head), beer and wines as well as anything you might need in a pinch from fresh fruits and veggies to vanilla extract and TP. Nicest staff in the neighborhood, open early to late.

Well, Mike answered my question. The new mgmt has really improved this store. People ordering sandwiches said they’re always v. good. Large selection of wine & beer. I went because they’re now carrying Takis brand tortilla chips! The best!

Great neighborhood convenient store. When I lived in the neighborhood I would go here almost weekly. Some of the greatest customer service Ive ever received. It is ran by a very hard working couple who always have a smile on their face which is very welcoming. Personally I’d usually go in for some beers and my cold cuts to make sandwiches for the work week. Unlike many convenient stores, they have a great produce section with all types of meats and cheese, and if youre in the mood for a sandwich they will make it for you. Although you may pay an unnoticeable amt extra for certain items, as you should expect at any convenient store over a large supermarket chain, it is well worth it knowing the money spent is going to a hard working family who runs a great store.

I love this convenience store. Great selection of beer and wine. Basic supply of groceries for everyday needs-fruit, cereal, coffee, milk, eggs, etc. The deli is amazing– they will make you basically whatever you want :) The owners/staff are also sooooo sweet! The main woman who runs the store has a great sense of humor and makes me feel like it truly is a neighborhood store.

This is a fabulous convenience store. Very friendly, great selection. Their selection is remarkably good, ranging from standards like eggs and tomato sauce to unlikely cooking ingredients(pine nuts, some spices, fresh mozarella and parmasean) to beer and wine. They also sometimes have things in back beyond what’s on the shelves.(They also make deli sandwiches, which I haven’t tried.) Living within two blocks of them, we nip out often for stray ingredients.

Everyone who works at TJ are just the nicest most personable and sweetest people ever! Whenever my girlfriend and I walk in they instantly recognize us with huge smiles and greetings. They even endure our attempts to speak to them in Spanish. We usually go there to pick up beer, and they have an awesome selection(Cisco, Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada etc) for prices that are consistent with nearby liquor stores. Whenever we pick up avacados and tomatos to make guacamole, they instantly pick up on this and run to their cooler to get us a jalapeño and fresh cilantro(often for free.) Great quality food, great drinks, good prices for a convenience store, and most importantly, awesome people.

TJs Convenience Store recently changed management. I never got to know the old owner as I moved in Sept 2011 but the new owners are great. The first thing they added was a Boar’s Head deli, now I can get quality cheeses and deli meats without having to go far(the prices are pretty good too!) They extended their hours as well, 11a-11p everyday… even Sunday! The Dominican couple that owns the place are so personable and welcoming. If you have not tried their smoothies, you must do so asap. $ 3.99 and they are perfect with summer coming up(no preservatives or ‘fake’ ingredients, all natural! I’m going to be very sad when I move away next September, I am lucky to have TJ’s right around the block!

I love this place! Lee is just like a small business owner should be. Once he was telling me about the lottery, but I didn’t have a buck(just a credit card), so he bought the ticket, gave it to me and said if I win, we split it. We’ve been splitting lottery tickets since. He always smiles, he always remembers everyone and he loves to just catch up and hear what’s going on. This is my favorite convenience store.

I lived next to TJ Convenience Store for seven years. It was my go-to place for milk, ice cream and the occasional frozen entrée. The prices are what you’d expect for a convenience store, as is the selection; although unlike many corner stores, TJ sells beer and wine. The owner is very nice and he works hard – I think his name is Lee. I have to wonder about my relation to the world when I can talk to a guy two or three times a week for seven years and not know his name.
