My whole family has already fisnished eating and I was still waiting for my chicken chow mein which shouldn’t even take long to cook. They didn’t even apologized for the wait. Very disappointed.

I always get the oyster wings & bún bò hue. for taste of food but no stars for service. The server always takes FOREVER to take your order & come back to give you a refill. Good food but dang, I feel like they forget about me every time. Like as I write this, my server is looking right at me & she’s taking the order of a guest that JUST walked in. I’ve been sitting here for about 15 minutes now. Smh come on Mandarin, you don’t want to lose a customer.

I was looking for a good Phở options that are closer than my go to spots in South Minneapolis. Unilocal came through and pointed the way to Mandarin, my new favorite. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and can easily be overlooked. The phở was great! Very rich broth and came out hot. I have had bad luck at a few places where it seems like the bowl sat around a few minutes before making it to my table and there is nothing I despise more than«warm» soup. There were a lot of onions in the phở but that is how I like it. My husband got the sesame chicken dinner. The rice had a delightful grilled flavor, the chicken was hot and had great size pieces and the dinner came with an order of sweet and sour chicken. The amount of food for the price is staggering. Service is speedy and friendly. Thrilled to have found this place!

VERYGOOD!!! They have many authentic Vietnamese soups to choose from compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. Many people come here to order their Chow Fun. Best spring rolls in town. The phở is decent 7.5÷10. This place is so good that it’s always packed and busy. And come on they even have STEAK served with pasta, veggies and potatoes. The service is okay because they are constantly busy.

I like to eat Vietnamese food all the time and especially when I am hung over haha! This is a decent spot and prices aren’t too bad either for the area. I like to order chicken wings and phở. The meatballs in the phở taste funky, but I’m not really a meatball kind of person anyways. I also like their rice platters, they are really good!

Honestly I keep coming back to this place because they’re open until 9pm, when Kim Anh is only open until 8pm. And it’s not all that far from my house. I do like their phở. It’s good, though by the end of the night the broth has been sweeter than I like because of the onions. Still a very good broth. Every time I’m there, I try to order their vermicelli noodle salad with marinated pork to go… one time I even tried to order it with egg rolls, but they always tell me they’re out of marinated pork. Super annoyed. It’s like the third time I’ve asked. I really might just need to stop going here. They have bubble tea(from powder)…so eh.

This is my go to place for bun Bo hue. No where else makes it even close. The broth is filled with flavor with the perfect spicy touch. This restaurant is also very generous on the broth and meat they put into the beef noodle soup. The beef and pork isn’t super chewy like other places, you can actually swallow it here because they actually cook it long enough. If you like bun Bo hue, this place is better than any other restaurant i’ve had this soup at. The phở here is actually pretty good too, it’s definately one of my top places to go for phở because the broth is good. I really like their desert selections as well, all of my favorite authentic Vietnamese desserts behind a glass door. The food here is great, you know they work hard to please your taste buds here. Service can be a hit or a miss though.

Oyster wings are delicious! Noodles soups and chow fun are also good. But a little bit oily on the chow fun. But still good!

The restaurant expanded a lot since its first days. The food is fairly consistent and taste good. They don’t ‘cheap’ out like some restaurants. However, I think they put a lot of MSG in their cooking b/c I end up drinking a lot of water during and after. Their soup dishes are satisfying on a cold winter day. Their Chinese menu foods is also tasty. Maybe that’s why with other competitors close-by, they’re still very busy!!!

Spent next 12 hours throwing up, not a joke. All I had was the chicken fried rice, apparently with a side of salmonella!

Pretty good food. One thing that did ruin my first impression was the fact that the first time I ate here, there was a piece of hair in my phở. Quite DISAPPOINTING for such good phở broth. Side note: their phở noodles tend to absorb the liquid in the phở broth, leaving the dish with puffy noodles. The place itself isn’t much of a looker, but it’s not the place your eating, it’s the food. Customer service is 2.5÷5 stars.

Fantastic Phở, pretty good vermicelli noodle dishes. Fast service too. Pretty much everything you can ask for from a Vietnamese joint! They also have cold cut Ban Mi ready to go, but I haven’t tried them.

It is OK… If you can not cook Vietnamese food but want to eat Vietnamese food. This is the place. However they can compared to home cook Vietnamese food.

Ever been to an Indian Restaurant called«Urdu»? Or… a Russian Restaurant called«Slovak»? If you haven’t, just go to a Vietnamese Restaurant called«Mandarin.» I did. In fact, tonight was my third time there. I heard many good things about the place especially for their phở. Granted, they also have Chinese items in their menu; however, it is a Vietnamese Restaurant despite the name that really suggests it’s a Chinese Restaurant. The first time I went, I ordered the Chinese dishes and I thought they were just ok. The next time, I ordered the phở and I thought it was just ok. I haven’t really read any reviews about this place right up to this point. I just went because some friends told me. I didn’t frequent the place thought it’s close to home because it just didn’t knock my socks off. However, after reading reviews here from some people whose opinions I respect, I thought I should give it a try again. However, if they have a competition, it is MT Noodle down the road. I happened to be an MT fan. I go there a lot and I would crave it if I didn’t have it in a week’s time. Who can live without phở and egg rolls? I certainly can’t. It’s just almost impossible. I really don’t want to live in a world without phở. I’m not even Vietnamese. MT is closed tonight and I had to have phở and egg rolls. Perfect time to give Mandarin a try and this time I could compare them to MT. Coming in, the greeting was much more warm at MT. MT has cute girls who barely speak English smiling and tried their damnest to greet you. Here, they had two people sitting at a table chatting. When I came in, they continued on chatting and then they saw me and asked«You need a table»? Uh, yeah! That’s a good guess. Then, she signaled someone to take me to my table. I ordered the phở and egg rolls. I can’t wait for some hot savory broth in this sub zero weather. They gave you more sprouts, basil, and Jalapeño peppers compared to MT. Their egg rolls were bigger in size or about the same with MT regular egg rolls. The filling though. It was meaty but the meat was so soft. It was weird texturally. It was like it wasn’t done or like a paste. It wasn’t to my preference. I gave this one to MT. MT’s house egg rolls are tiny but crispy with delicious fillings of pork and shrimp. I could pop those in my mouth all day long. The phở. it was beautiful when it came. The meatballs were big. I gave the meatball to Mandarin. The noodles were nice too and it didn’t clump together. The broth however. to me it tasted greasy and bland. I was a little disappointed as almost everyone told me their phở is tasty. However, I prefer MT’s phở. MT’s phở is clean, flavorful, not greasy, and not ladened with MSG. It took forever for someone to give me my check so I could get the hell out. No one checked on me after the food was delivered either. Service was below average. However, for $ 2 tip I could understand. The menu pricings were dirt cheap. At the end, I’m sticking to three stars. It’s just ok to me. I gave them a fair chance. I prefer the other one down the road for around this area.

PHO!!! We came here in the mid morning after a heavy heavy heavy night of drinking — all of us were hung over like crazy and decided to come here for a bit of the best hang over cure ever — Phở! So i ended up getting the extra large phở that was huge! absolutely huge!!! Unlike whatever i get in NYC — the broth was super falvorful — and all the extra sides you get, bean sprouts, limes, and different mint and other greens were very very fresh and very flavorful. Out of all the phở experiences i’ve had — this place is among the top 10.

I came back the 2nd time. I was craving for their«hu tieu» since last time i was here. This place is just too far away for me. And it is totally worthy the trip. I love love love«hu tieu kho» and also found my other favorite childhood dish«bt chiên». They did a good job on «bot chien». I feel like i need to try everything on the menu now. So yummy delicious !!!

Our friends recommended this place for it’s Duck noodle soup so we decided to give it a try. My husband and I have visited the place one a month since then. However I would not recommend their Phở. Theirs are very plain and the noodle seems undercooked. There’s also one time that my husband ordered this chow fun thing, it was great except too salty, the servers were so busy that they didn’t even come to refill our drink, so we didnt reflect the saltiness. On our next visit my husband ordered the same thing, this time we told the server about how salty it was last time, so we had him to tell the cook not to make it too salty. Yet this time it was tasteless! I think their cooking are very inconsistent. Just came back from this place and they had us waited at our table for close to 20 min before taking order. Don’t go on Friday if you want to avoid long wait. I had the seafood chow fun in sauce and there’s barely any taste. If you want a better seafood chow fun in sauce, go to Kuang Minh. The menus are not friendly too, some are written in Vietnamese so we have to ask the server to explain.

This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn Park, because of the many unique dishes provided. Personally, I wouldn’t get any of the entrees that come with rice, because the servers told me that the noodles are what the chefs make best. The Singapore Noodles, with char shu, shrimp, ham, bell peppers, onions, and sugar snap peas with egg noodles held together with a yellow curry, is delectable. The Mongolian Pork Noodles, with bell peppers, cabbage, and onions in a hoisin sauce, will surely make your tummy happy. If you must get a rice dish, try the Honey Walnut Shrimp, the Pork and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, or the Szechuan Chicken. All of these dishes are aight! Aside from the main menu, there’s a secret Vietnamese dish Mandarin offers called Mi Kho. Unlike traditional egg noodle soups, the broth and the noodles are separated. The egg noodles are mixed with chives, scallions, and barbecue pork, topped with a sweet and salty sauce that holds everything together. The broth is the traditional egg noodle broth that’s either chicken or pork based. It’s not very salty, and it helps balance out the noodles. This dish is absolutely incredible here. Again, it’s not on the menu, so ask the server for this dish.

A Suggestion from my parents to give this place a try and since its not in the usual eat street like all the other Vietnamese restaurants I go to. They have a good selection of authentic Vietnamese cooking including phở, bun bo hue, mi kho and a few rice platters. Mandarin is known for their soup dishes though. I can see why the phở is pretty good compared to most places that end up in the suburbs, they also give you a good amount that will sure make you full. I would not go during busy hours though it seems like the broth tends to have a watery taste(maybe to feed more?) I also do not suggest getting the salt and pepper squid not a fan what so ever on that. But if you are looking for something that is inexpensive, authentic and fast this i the place they also offer tons of Vietnamese desserts too YUMMY.
