Its the perfect dive bar to watch Sunday football. Its never packed, the bartender leaves you alone till you need a drink. The food menu is brief but gets the job done. What more could you ask of a Dive?

Great place to watch sports. 706 has great beers on tap at reasonable prices and awesome wings and tater tots. Also super friendly staff.

First thing’s first: I wouldn’t have been back so often if it weren’t for pinball, but that’s just me. The owner of the pinball games in the bar keeps them well maintained and during the winter(or when the patio isn’t in danger of being open), there have been two pinball tables. Hopefully that trend will continue this winter. They won’t both fit with the back door being able to be opened, so there’s only one during the warmer months. That said, any bar with pinball is a bar I’ll frequent. Now that I have frequented 706 for so long, I can guarantee I would be back even if they lost the pinball. Not nearly as often, but I would be back for the following reasons: Good beer selection Cheap beer options FANTASTIC bloody mary mix FANTASTIC infused vodka for their premium bloody marys(seriously, you won’t find a better bloody) Great ownership Friendly and knowledgeable staff Some things that don’t particularly interest me that other Unilocalers might like: Sunday and Monday TV nights(whatever drama is on AMC that is winning emmys on Sunday, Monday Night Football on Monday) Sports — they have some sports packages and are quite football and local sports friendly Trivia nights Various small-scale DJ and music events In short, it’s only because of the pinball that I would travel here if I lived in another hood, but I would travel to 706 for the pinball and to support this local business. That said, as someone who lives in the hood, you’ll find me here often at least once per week.

If you’re looking for a place near Crown Heights to watch the game, 706 is your place. No frills. Good, reasonably priced drinks, great wings(which are half-off at happy hour) and friendly staff and other patrons. Add nachos to your menu, 706. I beg you. Then it’d be perfect.

super divey but clean bar. half off wings during happy hour and they are delicious. great beers on tap. … but apparently they are getting rid of the wings, which is the best part about this place. call if you are looking for a specific game, they seem to be very accommodating(2 tvs) also, they gave my card to someone else when they were cashing out, and that person decided to go on a shopping spree. So that was inconvenient.

A thousand times yes! A dive bar with well-made cocktails? Gigantic selection of beer/shot specials? Friendly staff? Cleanest dive bathroom I’ve ever seen. If you don’t like 706, we can’t be friends.

I should have taken the reviews for the spot a little more seriously. This is a true dive bar. The divest of dive bars. It’s dark at all hours of the day, dingy, and smelly. The staff are extremely friendly tho and the outdoor space, while tiny, was nice to grab a drink at. Not saying I would come back(maybe if it didn’t come with unpleasant smell I would consider). I guess I can see why the locals enjoy this addition to the neighborhood because I’m sure they accept it for exactly what it is.

706 is an awesome local bar. They have a great selection and it’s super reasonably priced. The beer and shot menu is awesome and everybody that works there is friendly and knowledgable. Plus they have all the sports you’d want and I heard they recently started cooking some killer wings. Definitely have to go back and try them soon.

Chill Bar with Patio and TVs for Sports. Not that cheap outside happy hour.

It only took one glance at the penny counter for me to fall in love with this place. I came in on a late Saturday night and was greeted by the friendliest bartender with super witty jokes and comments! This place is small, yet cozy with a coaster decorated wall, bumper sticker coated fridge, and the beautifully crafted penny bar counter that kept most of my attention. The drinks here are extremely cheap, they offer amazing happy hour specials and they’re open extremely late for those that happen to live in the neighborhood and want a drink! I will definitely be frequenting this place!

So it’s Superbowl Sunday and the bar you normally watch football at is …, closed? What do you do ? Well luckily for me 706 was across the street, showing the game, and, at the time we arrived, not crowded. I use to frequent this bar in it’s previous incarnation as Minor Arcana, but it was my first visit as 706. While it the same size there is more seating available and multiple tv’s around the bar. They have a pretty decent beer selection priced from $ 6– $ 8 dollars and also allow outside food. I was pleased with my time here(except for last 20 seconds of game, but 706 can’t be blamed for that) and would return here for sports or just to hang out.

After leaving the no pants subway ride craziness(what was the point of it all?) and the bar we followed them to this place was an oasis. It was a Sunday evening and there was a group, a couple and a few solo drinkers here. Most seem to be paying attention to a game on the telly. Drinks were reasonable and the service wasn’t good or bad. It just was. I get the feeling that you’re left to your own devices in here. The toilet space is huge in comparison to the bar space. I seriously did a double take when I pushed the door. It was clean too so *hand slaps* all around. Like I tipped, it seems a good solid upscale dive spot if that even makes sense. The End.

Only come here for the pinball. Great games(Tales of the Arabian Nights and Star Trek: The Next Generation) but the tilt settings are so sensitive that the fun is stripped from them, and I won’t be going out of my way to play them whereas I probably would otherwise. One star for having pinball though, and the other star for the complete gem of a bartender(the petite woman with short curly blonde hair) who went out of her way unprompted to tell off a dude who was obviously bothering us. When I’ve been here other times, I’ve been unimpressed with the male bartenders/owners. Always unimpressed with their prices and the space. But worst of all, SUPER annoyed with their clientele — annoying all the way! Sorry guys, heading back to South Slope where people are friendly and chill.

Two picnic tables serve as outdoor seating in a small backyard, although this is pretty useless in the winter. It’s nice in the summer. There’s a pinball machine. Oh, and there’s the alcohol, of course!(I’ve never eaten here.) There’s no slick wow factor. It’s just a non-pretentious bar where you can have a drink.

With funky 70s wall paper and a cheeky welcome sign this bar feels more like a Mid-Western hang out rather than a Brooklyn spot. That’s actually a good thing! The owner and bartenders are friendly and attentive. The prices are right for those of us with low drinking budgets and they make deliciously infused cocktails. They also have pinball machines. They just got Jack Bot and are one of the few in NYC to have it. Game on.

I really hate my friend for holding out and not telling me about this place earlier. She will receive proper punishment later. This place is a great dive bar in the neighborhood and a great sports bar. The owner and many patrons are Bears fans, but cool to fans of all persuasions. It is a nice spot to chill and enjoy a few libations while enjoying the game. Apart from the friendly vibe, they have generous bar specials, an impressive tap beer selection, and special nights — I will have to check out the trivia night on a Wednesday!

Sometimes you just want to go to a bar that’s quiet where drunkies aren’t going to be all up in your face, where you won’t be afraid to use the bathroom, and where drinks are strong and cheap. The first night we went here, the owner was working and he made us feel really welcome by chatting us up, mixing up crazy good concoctions, and ensuring that we would be back for more. Daily specials every day, good tunes playing, and a nice mellow place overall\ makes for a bar that I like.

Are you broke? Not wearing anything nice? Hungry and need a drink? Don’t worry, I’m only going to judge you behind your back. But before I do, let me recommend 706. 706 is a true dive bar that this neighborhood needed. It’s not a sports bar. It’s not a cocktail bar. It’s not a place to catch a great view. It doesn’t have amazing, amazing food. There is no special décor. There is no live music. You come here to drink, get some bar food in your belly and hang with some friends(or alone if you don’t have any. I’m joking, I’ll be your friend. Just buy the first few rounds) all at an inexpensive price. They have drink specials every day. It’s all at a good price. I can’t say the bar has anything special about it. Though they just did start trivia on Wednesdays. Movies on Mondays. ANDTHEYHAVEPINBALL!!! Don’t go spending all those quarters now! I detested the old bar, Minor Arcana. Sleazy stripper pole with a girl dancing in a bikini, no thank you. It tried to be more, when it should have just embraced being a dive bar. I never got around to reviewing it but I’d imagine I would have given it two stars. Saturday specials include $ 2 dollar high life’s and $ 4 Jameo shots. Deadly but fun combo. So if your around, need a watering hole just to relax and don’t give a fuck about anything else. You may have found your spot.
