My regular sushi place was closed, so I ordered from here, instead. Pineapple fried rice was super yummy. Spicy tuna fried won ton with avocado on the side was really good. I like that the spicy tuna sushi is not overpowered by rice. It is a thin layer of rice and works for me, since I am more interested in the tuna than the rice. Delivery was 15 min longer than estimated, but then again it was close to closing. Overall, good food.

Ordered take out in the restaurant. Server clearly didn’t know the menu at all. She had to relay my questions to another person. My very simple roll had a thin, patchy layer of rice around it. Never gonna order from them again. Very shameful. 1 extra star for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Also, when not a single customer is in the restaurant except a take out client, you should probably offer them water and kiss their ass as much as possible.

Like a previous review stated, I ordered from here after seeing over 4 stars on GrubHub, but was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the Green Curry Chicken with steamed white rice for delivery. The food arrived surprisingly quickly(about 25 minutes), but the food was absolutely terrible. They gave a very small portion of chicken, more than half of the chicken wasn’t even edible, and when I opened the bag the green curry sauce was leaking and ended up getting all over my room. I’m really not sure how this place has 4 stars on GrubHub. Maybe the sushi is better, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered from Grub hub. Their reviews had this marked as 4 stars so I thought I would give it a go… BUT: Ugh ugh ugh I ordered the chicken panang curry(with added pineapple YUM) which comes with either a salad or miso soup(chose the salad), clear soup and a piece of white tuna sushi. First of all, since does 2 pieces of lettuce with one grape tomato constitute a salad? This was disappointing. Second, they sent me miso soup instead of the ordered Clear soup. Third, I ordered SUSHI. ya know raw fish? The white tuna was cooked! Not even just pan seared but actually cooked. Alas, this was disappoiting as well. Finally, they charged an extra $ 2 for pineapple which I thought was kinda ridiculous since you can get a can of pineapple for $ 1. I hate to admit because of everything else being so poor but the miso soup(though I didn’t order it) was good and the panang curry was scrumptious. The curry had green bell peppers, fried tofu, onions and my added pineapple. I also opted for the brown rice. Perhaps this ordeal wouldn’t have happened if I was dining in the restaurant. As of right now the only reason they habe three stars is because my main entrée was good. BTW overall cost was ~$ 25 so kinda pricey

This place really doesn’t deserve the ratings it has. First off I ordered on seamless late at night and it arrived really FAST. The TunaAvocado roll I got was fresh with huge pieces of both. The avocado was perfectly ripe and the tuna had a fine texture and dark color. The General Tso’s chicken was nicely fried(not gummy) with that simple sweet, tangy and slightly spicy thick sauce. I love real chinese food but sometimes you just want that basic stuff you grew up with and some places have really gross General Tso’s thats just incredibly sweet. This one was pretty balanced and satisfied that comfort food craving. Also it came with brown rice which I didn’t specify but kind of made me feel better anyway. Even the hijiki salad was plentiful and tasty.

Never order from here, they’re the worst! 2 and a half hours to deliver my food that was awful. The worst.

We made the mistake of dining in on a cold winter night. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize that there was NOHEAT until we’d already ordered. No one told us there was no heat, nor did anyone apologize. Furthermore, the heat wasn’t broken; the bathroom was very toasty. As their main business was clearly take out, it seemed that they simply didn’t care to use adequate heat, even when customers complained. Instead of walking out like the couple next to us, we decided to be polite and give it a chance as we’d already put in an order. So we ate in our winter coats, scarves and hats. While our sushi was decent, the soba vegetable soup was terrible. The broth was bland, and aside from a few mushrooms and 3 pieces of broccoli, there were no veggies in this soup. Unless you count the uncooked spinach leaves that were draped across the top of the bowl, cleverly hiding the fact that not only was it near-veggie-less, but they did not use soba noodles! The noodles were overcooked white flour noodles that had no taste. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he said that they were«white soba.» As far as I know, soba noodles are made of buckwheat, and buckwheat is brown. Maybe I’m wrong. But even if the food was great, it wouldn’t have compensated for the lack of heat on a 33 degree night. Go eat somewhere else.

This place is really awful. The delivery took 90 minutes to arrive. When they showed up the delivery guy told me to pay more but could not explain why, so he called his boss back at the restaurant while I waited for a while, and then the guy gave me the phone but no coherent explanation was given, so finally I said«I’m not paying more» and closed the door on him. Then I opened up my bag of food and saw that it was not exactly what I ordered. AND the sushi rolls were inexplicably filled with fried panko crumbs– amidst the fish– clearly as a cheap filler. If I had wanted fried food I wouldn’t have ordered salmon rolls. What a disaster of a restaurant. Avoid!

If Aji wants to compete with the decent sushi made at other Asian fusion restaurants in the area, it’s got a ways to go. Even without holding Asian fusion sushi up to the same standards as authentic Japanese sushi, it could’ve been better. The salmon in my salmon avoccado roll was not melt-in-your-mouth fresh, the rice was dry and the avocado was hard, sour and watery. Twice my afternoon take-out turned out to be throw-out: most of it went into the garbage. Aji owners: I’m always looking for good sushi, so please try and do better! Thanks.

I was not impressed any of the rolls we got. There are a lot better options in the neighborhood within the same price range.

Visiting Brooklyn and was looking for a place to eat. We eventually landed on Aji Sushi for the pad Thai and spicy basil tofu. So impressed with the food! It was our first restaurant in Brooklyn and it was definitely off to a good start. Although the place was empty, the take out was non stop so I think that’s a good sign that this wasn’t a one off. We had fried banana for dessert which was the normal good. Recommended!

If my order hasn’t arrived after 1.5 hours(still waiting) and you don’t answer the phone(3x over 10 minutes now) then you are a terrible restaurant.

Whoa… I wasn’t expecting bad reviews. I just tried this place out last night via a Seamless order and was impressed. The sushi was pretty good quality to be from a delivery joint, in my opinion. Rolls very fresh and packed well. Call me crazy, but I’m a sucker for any delivery place that packs a drink well so that it doesn’t spill while they are in transit. I had a California roll(I’m slightly basic sometimes, sue me) and a shrimp avocado roll along with an iced green tea. I was impressed with all three items and definitely want to try the seaweed salad next time(I just wasn’t willing to spend $ 15+ on dinner for one person). All in, I’ll definitely order from here again and look forward to trying more of the menu items!

So it looks like Aji Sushi is trying to compensate for the bad reviews on here. I ordered from Aji through seamless while I was on the train home from work. I got my sushi in about 20 min(maybe even less). I asked for extra ginger and they definitely provided. The quality of fish was much better than what I am used to. The rice was fresh. My belly is satisfied and I would definitely order from here again. Don’t let the bad reviews stop you from trying it out.

I remember going just after they open and was impressed by the quality of the fish and the price. we ordered today through Seamless and I had to throw half the sushi and sashimi. Fish was terrible, chewy, and bad taste. even the California roll was bad. I mean how can you miss a California roll ?? we won’t give them another chance, can’t be that generous with raw fish. I still have that horrible taste in my mouth while writing.

Ordered delivery from here last night and was far from impressed. First of all, Seamless had told me that it would take 30 – 45 minutes but took 75 minutes to get our food. We ordered the Tic Tac Toe appetizer and the Crazy Spicy Roll and they were TERRIBLE! They tasted fishy, slimy and completely fell apart when we tried to eat them — we each had one piece and threw the rest in the garbage. Rice free rolls sound like a fun idea, but they suck — skip it. We also ordered the Out of Control Roll and the Twin Roll and these were slightly better, if only because they didn’t fall apart and had a nice mix of textures. But they still tasted a little fishy and if we weren’t so hungry after waiting over an hour for our food, we probably would have thrown these in the garbage too. The shrimp tempura in the Twin Roll specifically tasted pretty stale. Lesson learned — check out Unilocal before ordering from somewhere new because Seamless reviews are retarded and completely inaccurate!

Many moons ago there was another Japanese restaurant here that was pretty tasty, affordable, and great for delivery. Aji Fusion apparently has taken over the location so not a lot of the décor has changed. One of the first things I noticed was that the prices were quite a bit higher. We ordered the Sushi Pizza($ 13) and Spicy Maki Combo(3 rolls for $ 15), with miso soup. Our waitress also gave us a complimentary Kale salad which was quite nice. I loved the Kale, raisins, walnuts, and the dressing however I’m not a big fan of raw(red) onions. The miso soup really came as a surprise as it was actually quite sustantial with shiitake mushrooms! Yum. The sushi pizza was actually quite delicious. Fried pancake on the bottom, guacamole, salmon, spicy mayo, dressed with roe, scallions, dried cranberries. A must have.(I personally liked the chef’s idea of sweetening a plate with raisins/dried cranberries but others might not). Onto the dissappointing aspect — the three Spicy rolls. I don’t recall what fish was used but the plate simply wasn’t really memorable as the unagi needed just a touch more sauce, and the jalapenos didn’t really work — especially when I tasted some seed which overpowered the fish too much. My suggestion to the restaurant: lower your prices to get more customers in for the first few months. The quality of food has high potential to compete with the other Japanese restaurants around the neighborhood. I’d just lower the prices just a little bit, and dim the lighting just a touch w/candles since they’ve already got pillows going on.

This new sushi joint is just steps away from us so we decided to check it out on night. They are BYOB so we got a bottle of sauvignon blanc a couple doors away at the wine shop for our meal. No corking fee here so yaaay! The place was nice, looks like a typical sushi joint. I think they can open all their windows/doors for an open air sort of thing on nice summer days. there was a sushi bar in the back and it was a good size place, not too cramped or teeny like most sushi restaurants. Our appetizers were the seared ahi and also the calamari. The ahi was excellent. little cubes of ahi tuna drizzled with some kind of dressing that I am assuming had some ponzu and soy sauce. the fish was also sprinkled with a spice that gave it a little kick. It was nice and tangy from the sauce with a little spiciness. The calamari was really good. the batter to squid ratio was great, crispy on the outside and tender meat inside. Dunk it in the spicy chili sauce! We got two specialty rolls. One had spicy tuna I believe and covered in a crunchy batter(kind like tempura batter) and another similar to a dragon or volcano roll with cream cheese on top. They were both very good. Good portions as well. The fish was fresh and the combinations were tasty. They have a good size menu with great specialty rolls at very reasonable prices. Their lunch specials looked like a really good deal too. 9 bucks for a bento box and they have it on Saturdays! Worth checking out for good sushi in the area, really great service. They were very attentive and willing to help out with any questions about the food.
